i have deleted all contacts in icloud but still have them on my iphone (which is backed up as well to iTunes) how can i restore the iphone data to the iCloud so it will resend it to my mac book and iPad? I have switched my iphone to airplane mode so it is not connected to the internet and so icloud can not wipe it at the moment.
thanks royThere's a menu choice (I think under "Files") that lets you sync purchased items on a device back to itunes. Look for that.
iCloud does not store music. If you want to do that you'd have to subscribe to itunes Match, but to get music to the match servers, you need the music in the itunes library on your computer. -

Did you erase the phone, or merely remove it from Find My Phone? If you merely removed the phone:

iPhone 4 went into recovery mode when trying to restore it. Now the only option iTunes allows is for "restore & upgrade", it is not offer an option to restore from a backup, says that must first do the upgrade, when attempting to do the upgrade the iPhone won't accept it.
How can I restore from a back up in recovery mode when the only option is "restore and upgrade"?

Just check the date of the latest backup before choosing where to restore from. You can see the date of the latest iCloud backup from Settings on the iPhone, like the article shows, and you can see the iTunes backup in Preferences > Devices. -

I lost my phone and needed to get a replacement. When I did, I started the activation process, but never got prompted to restore from iCloud, just from my last backup in iTunes. I've run the restoration, and the backup was pretty out of date. Is there a way to restore the backup I'd set up in iCloud at this point?
First, I would plug the phone into a wall outlet to make sure you do not loose power during the restore. If you had a lot of information on your iPhone like apps, music, movies, etc it will take a while for all that information to e restored.
Second, restore the device and erase all content through the phone and not through iTunes. For some reason if you do a restore through iTunes it skips the restore from iCloud backup. Go to Aetting -> Generally -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings. It will take a few minutes to complete this process.
Third, once e Erase All Content and Settings is completed, setup the iPhone through he Wizard.
Fourth, select restore from iCloud backup.
Fifth, wait for the resotre to be completed.
Finally, enjoy your restored phone. -
How can I restore my iPod to an older iCloud backup that's before the three most recent?
I need it because my iPod completely crashed and restarted itself. DX I had forgotten about the iCloud backup thing *facepalm* -.-' and yeah, I need to restore an older backup of my iPod because I had some really important things on it and the only recent ones are of the days after the crash that happened on my iPod. Please help me! TT^TT
If the backup is not listed is Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup>Manage Storage then no other backups exist.

my computer (window 7) give me message "photo stream is not enabled. when i go to icloud control panel on computer (icloud version2 ) for activation. its not being activated. i tried many times but failed. when i check the photo stream option and apply its shows that its ok. and after closing when i again open icloud panel the photo stream option remains unchecked that means its not activated. please guide me.
Had the same problem. I uninstalled icloud, restarted my pc and reinstalled icloud and it's working fine. Hope this helps.
