HT201328 Siri talks when I type my text!!

Does anyone know why Siri randomly speaks words of my text message while I am typing? Has anyone else had this same issue? Anyone know how to fix it?

To prevent speaking autocorrect suggestions when typing text messages go to Settings>General>Accessibility and under Vision turn Speak Auto-text to Off.

The Genius Bar did a reset on my phone in an effort to correct an issue. After the reset (which did not solve my initial issue), Siri started trying to help me type my text and emails by speaking the words I am typing. How do I shut her up without shutting her down? Is it failing and giving you an error message?
Is it happening with all contacts or just one? It could be that you have an incorrect number or the number you're sending it to might not be able to receive incoming SMS

When I type my text gets highlighted and then deleted.

I am having a problem with typing. When I type fast my text gets highlighted and then deleted or typed over. Im not sure what is wrong. I think it is either a trackpad or keyboard. Any help be great!!

The trackpad on the MB and MBP have a larger surface with more sensors than on previous laptops. As a result, when we type we have other fingers, thumbs etc. making contact with the trackpad and the trackpad receives input we don't intend. It happens to me quite often. So I hit Command + Z to undo and reposition the cursor. We need to train ourselves so that we keep our hands, palms, thumbs or other unnecessary body parts away from the trackpad while typing.

When I type, the text doesn't display on the screen immediately

I type rather quickly, yet lately, I've noticed, as I'm typing, it takes several seconds for the text to show up on the screen. I haven't spilled anything on my keyboard, my computer is fully charged, and I've restarted it twice. Does anyone know what's wrong or have a solution?

When I type the text in the google search box the first time the text is visible. Then if I try to type the text again for another seach or query in the text box, the typed text is not visible and it is visible only if I highlight the whole text.

I can send you an attachment of the screen but you have not given the option of adding an attachment.

HT2480 When I type a text message the name it puts as "to" does not match the name that I have on my contact. i.e. shows John and Jane Doe when contact just has Jane Doe. Is there some old data that should be cleared? Can I stop the auto selection?

Do you have Facebook contacts turned on? It may be at some time you got an email message from them and that is the way they have their return address set. All previously used addresses are in a cache on the phone and the only way to clear that is to restore the phone as a new device, which deletes all data from the phone. You cannot restore from a backup because the information is in that and will just be put back on the phone.

At the present time, the only way to clear that is to restore the phone as new. Perhaps a future iOS update will give us the option to clear that cache.

Detail: I am having a HTML from, having text box, displayed using UIWebView. If user types in text box it shows the keyboard. Now If user tap and hold on text box it shows a popup menu. Now while keyboard and pop up are being displayed user scrolls the view. At this time it shows pop up over the keyboard which I need to hide.
I tried setMenuVisible of UIMenuController when popup rect and keyboard rect intersects each other on viewDidScroll but it didn't help me.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Font Book application and validate all fonts. You must select the fonts in order to validate them. See the built-in help and this support article for instructions. If Font Book finds any issues, resolve them.
Start up in safe mode to rebuild the font caches. Restart as usual and test.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t start in safe mode. In that case, ask for instructions.
If you still have problems, then from the Font Book menu bar, select
File ▹ Restore Standard Fonts...
You'll be prompted to confirm, and then to enter your administrator login password.
Also note that if you deactivate or remove any built-in fonts, for instance by using a third-party font manager, the system may become unstable.

I do not want to half to install things into my PC that i do not trust! I just want this gone and like i said Firefox should of given us the choice to add this and not forced us, because if there is no actual way to remove it then il be forced to remove Firefox till they either remove it or allow us to remove it!

I want to be able to be the hands-free equivalent on my bicyle as drivers are in their cars. I bike to work and wear my right headphone to I can answer calls while riding. I want to be able to do the same for texts that come in but when I try to get Siri to read me the incoming text, it tells me I have to unlock my phone first. But my phone is in a pocket! Is there a setting I can change so that I can be more functional while biking?

Try deleting the old backup.
Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the device name and on the resulting screen, scroll down and tap on Delete Backup.
