I can't seem to install Mavericks to my mac and my MacBook meet all the Mac requirements...

If you are trying to see if you can track your mac but nothing comes up, be sure the mac is connected to wifi, not just using ethernet cable to a modem.

  • Installing Snow Leopard on a Vintage iMac that meets all the technical requirements

I am trying to install Snow Leopard on "Vintage" iMac that is currently running 10.5.8.  I have the Snow Leopard DVD but when I put it in I get an error message that says "Mac OS X Snow Leopard cannot be installed on this computer".  I have already confirmed with Apple Tech Support that my system meets the requirements and should be able to run Snow Leopard.  Any suggestions? Is there another way to install the Operating System.  Tech Support said they couldn't help any further because it is a Vintage.  But they suggested posting a question to the apple community.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

    Try this first:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Now boot from your Snow Leopard installer and try the installation.

  • OS X Mavericks is not installing even though my Mac meets all the system requirements. How do I fix this?

How do you install Mavericks on a mac with 10.6.8 version?

Just to make absolutely sure, here are the requirements:
To install Mavericks, you need one of these Macs:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later),
    MacBook Pro (15-inch or 17-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    Your Mac also needs:
OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8 already installe
2 GB or more of memory
8 GB or more of available space
When you try to download Mavericks from the App Store, what happens?

  • Why can't i get my school web site to load? I have all the downloads required( google chrome, internet explorer and firefox but the page still will not open

I can onto anything else on the internet but i cannot get my school web age top load. I can get to the sign in page but when i sign in it just keeps coming up a blank page and does not open. i get no error message with this problem. i was just on this website last week with no problem. When contacting school support they informed me it was on my side of the computer not theirs becasue they can pull up my school work and information from their computer.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, remove all the individual cookies for the site. Then close the dialog and try reloading the page.
    Does that help?

10.7.5 was the last update to Lion.
You can try resetting the App Store.
    Reset       Learned from Old Toad
Look in your Purchases tab in the App Store. Does it show as purchased?
Browsers shouldn't have anything to do with it.
There is troubleshooting section and a contact link.

  • Hi, I've just up-dated my OS in my MacPro 3.1 from 10.5 to 10.6.8 and can't seem to install my Logic Pro 8, any advise? can I install my Logic 8 in the 10.6.8 OS? Thanks

Hi, I've just up-dated my OS in my MacPro 3.1 from 10.5 to 10.6.8 and can't seem to install my Logi Pro 8, I can install the libraries but not the program, is it possible to install or do I have to up-grade to Logic 9? Thanks

It's either that Logic 8 is looking for the Rosetta emulation program or that Logic 8 was previously installed on this OS, in which case you will have to remove some preference files and install receipt.
I think the Rosetta emulation is downloadable for SL.

  • I just clean installed maverick on my computer and I have nothing in my iTunes library, how can I get back all the music I have bought?

I just clean installed maverick on my computer and I have nothing in my iTunes library, how can I get back all the music I have bought?

From your backups. By doing a clean install you erased your startup volume. You may have installed OS X, but your personal software was erased. You can restore from backups if your have them. If not, then you've lost it all, permanently.

  • I've installed Mavericks on my Mac Pro. It works well, generally, but will not stay sleeping! Pressing the power button twice sometimes extends the sleep mode but even that seldom results in a full overnight sleep.  File sharing off. What else can help?

    Hi fremley,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
This article may be helpful with determining why your Mac Pro doesn't stay in sleep mode:
Mac OS X: Why your Mac might not sleep or stay in sleep mode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1776
Some things reset the sleep timers, preventing the computer from sleeping:
Hard drive access (even if you're not using the computer, a running application might be accessing your drive, such as when downloading a large file or listening to music in iTunes)
Moving the mouse or using a portable Mac's trackpad, pressing a mouse button, or pressing a key on the keyboard
Some System Preferences settings (see below)
    Open applications (see below)
    Input devices (see below)
    Expansion cards (see below)
Additional drives, such as USB, FireWire, DVD, or CD drives (see below)
    Best Regards,
    Jeremy

So basically it said that I don't have a program to open it? I already had a trial version on my mac, but deleted it..

YasmineH your web browser is blocking the installation of the AAM Detect plug-in.  I would recommend using a different web browser or installing through the Creative Cloud Desktop application.  You can find additional details on how to install the Adobe Creative applications included with your membership at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.

  • I can't seem to install some apps that i downloaded for my iPad from my Mac. i have tried syncing them but they still don't appear on the pad. how do i go about this?

i can't seem to install some apps that i downloaded for my iPad from my Mac. i have tried syncing them but they still don't appear on the pad. how do i go about this?

    These are iPad apps correct?
Do you have restrictions set on the iPad? Settings>General>Restrictions>Installing apps>Off or Settings>General>Restrictions>Allowed Content?
Are you sure that the Apps are selected to sync from the Mac to the iPad?
Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Apps Tab on the right.
Click on Install next to the apps that you want to sync.
Click on the Sync Apps Heading to select it
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
If you do not see the sidebar in iTunes 11 - go to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes menu.

  • I just installed Maverick on my Mac, now I can't open Final Cut Pro!

I just installed Maverick on my Mac. When I started Final Cut Pro, I got the message that probably it doesn't work with Maverick.
Before that moment it was also impossible to update Final Cut Pro.  App Store directed me to Apple Menu looking for updates, and the Apple Menu directed me tot the App Store. Sounds familiar to someone?

The GM of Mavericks that I tried out shortly before Mavericks actually came out worked great with FCPX until I tried to import something into FCPX. The import window would open and then nothing. Wouldn't let me do or choose anything. Always had to force quit it. So, I'm a little hesitant to upgrade today.
