HT201412 My IPod Touch (4th generation) will not turn on at all. It has been charging all day and will only function if its plugged in but when its unplugged all you see is a blank black screen. Any ways to solve this?
I've only had this for maybe a year and it just quit working.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My ipod touch 4th generation is not recognized by itunes or my computer.
It has a list of instructions as to how to fix it and I followed them until it said to load the driver for the device from a disk.
I have no such disk nor do I know of one.
My computer said the driver is present but there is a problem installing it.

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

he menu button of the ipod touch (4th generation) is not working and the service center of ipod is asking us to pay for the fixation of the said item even though it's still on warranty. this is the case number 215866894. And the service center said that they don't cover that center part of the ipod so they're asking us money before they can fix it. We bought the ipod last december 8, 2010 and we brought it to the service center last april, 2011 here in the philippines. And until now they're not fixing it because they're asking us to pay half the price of the item which is 8,040 pesos..

HELP!! My Brand New iPod Touch 4th Generation is not Keeping Charge
On June,28th I bought myself a brand new ipod touch at The Source and it was keeping charge just fine till I charged it the second time. Last night I charged it for 4 and 1/2 hours last night and used it that night for about an hour or two then after I went to bed shutting it off fully and got up the next morning the stupid thing was completley drained it has been getting a lower and lower charge so I consistently have to have it plugged in. Anyone got any soutions for my problem if not I'm bringing it back for a refund.

I have an iPod Touch 3rd generation and yesterday I was using it and noticed that it reset to a different time zone and when I dug a little deeper realized that it reset the date to December of 1969. I just went in and changed it all back. I was out of the house all day today and didn't take it with me, when I went to use it, it wouldn't turn on. I assumed it was dead, so I plugged it in and got ready for bed. I realized that the charging screen never appeared and it never made the little noise it does when you plug it in. I picked it up and right near where the charger plugs in, it was very hot. I use it when it'd plugged in from time to time and it is NEVER that hot. I then tried to plug it into the computer where it again didn't do anything and didn't show up as a device that was plugged in on my iTunes. Again, it got very hot very quickly. I am using the cord that came with it and an actual Apple brand wall charger. I don't know what else to do. Some people said to hold the two buttons down for a little bit, but nothing happened on mine. Please help!
Warm is normal, too hot to handle, literally, is not.

I used to use my iPod Shuffle 4th generation when I go to GYM, but then I stopped using it for a while ( 1 or 2 monthes ), then I went back to use it again, but it's not charging & not turning "ON" at all.

my ipod was disabled due to forgetting my password and when i tried undisableing it by holding the power button down for 3 seconds and then combining it with the home button for 10 seconds and then just holding the home button for another 10 seconds, it now will not turn on.... help????

Could be the charger, cable or the iPad.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
And this - Unplug the charger from the iPad and then replug. May resume charging.
Or - Recalibrate the battery. See link below.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). My iPod touch 4th generation is not responding
I have an iPod 4g and it's charging, but not fully and it doesn't show up on my computer when I plug it in. I really don't think I will be able to bring it up to apple, but does anyone know how I can solve this? I've tried using a different cable and it's still no use. I plug it into the wall and it only charges a certain percentage over a long time. When it is plugged in to charge, the battery symbol at the top doesn't give any indication that it is charging, and it doesnt make the sound. I've tried resetting it several times and I can't restore it without iTunes.. i think, And I try to upgrade to iOS 6 and it fails everytime.

Have you tried another cable?
Another charging source? Does iTunes see the iPod when you connect to your computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic.
