I purchased 2 large bags of cell phones at a surplus/lost and found auction. The owner of this phone lost it, and didn't pick it up at the lost and found within 90 days and the phone was put up at auction. By law I am the new legal owner of the phone. The person who lost it locked their phone but didn't bother going to look for it. Not my problem. I went to the Apple store with my auction receipt and they said they still can't erase the old owner's account from the phone, and I need their receipt and their permission. There has to be some way around that. I legally purchased it after they lost it and neglected to pick it up within the time frame the law gave them to pick it up. Basically the Apple Store employee told me I was **** out of luck and the phone is basically garbage.
You were correctly informed. You are the new, legal owner of a beautiful paper weight. There is no way around it. This is a security protection to prevent people who steal them from getting value from the stolen item.

Did the trick! Not sure what I did to cause the screen to go numb, but this worked perfectly!!! I cleaned the screen and must have inadvertently selected something that locked the screen. This perfect solution kept me from having to run to the Apple Store. Many thanks.

Google calendar is getting the error "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete." I have tried disabling cookies, clearing cookies and cache but that didn't work.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

iPhoto keeps crashing! - then needs to repair the library. This is happening each time I import photos or even try to go in to an even and delete photos etc. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please it is so frustrating - I used to love iPhoto - now I regret upgrading to Lion

Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there? -
I updated to itunes 11.1 in Windows 8 & now there isn't a device tab in the top right hand corner or the sidebar. When I ran diagnostics it didn't pick up my Ipad or Iphone. Has anyone else had this problem & does anyone know how to fix it?
I have restarted my computer, turned my devices off & then on again & reinstalled itunes & none of this has helped.I have the same problem. Emailed apple--no help

My son found an iPhone, handed it in to the police, after 2 months we could and have claimed it, phone has had its IMEI blocked by Optus (Australian) and they have denied it can be unblocked. Optus rep I called said to take it to a "iphone fixer" to have this done.
In short, is there anything I can do without having to resort to this to get the phone working?? I have ALL relevant police paperwork and receipts so I am the LEGAL owner of this phone now.

The touchpad has a built in feature where when i move my finger over the far right, it scrolls instead of using the mouse. It has been faultless with everything before now, but doesnt work on webpages in Firefox 4, but does in pdfs open within firefox. I can only assume therefore it is the browsers problem not mine. The touchpad is a synaptics pointing device. If this is a browser problem then looks like firefox 4 wont be for me :(
Apparently it's related to the Firefox plug in.
This isn't exactly a solution but more of a way to avoid opening PDFs with Firefox's plug in.
1. Highlight "Tools" from the Menu Bar in the top left of the screen (or click "Options" if using the Firefox Compact Menu)
2. Select to "Options
3. Select "Applications"
4. Look for "Adobe Acrobat Document" under Content Type and to the right under Action select "Use Adobe Reader (default)" instead of the using Adobe Acrobat in Firefox
5. Open a test PDF. It should open in it's own window now.
Again, not a complete solution but something that'll at least let you scroll with PDFs open.

I have an iPhone 4S, iPad and MacBook Air. I'm looking for a program or app that I can sync though iCloud that will allow me to us all of these devices to track time spent on projects each day along with the ability to add specific information about each project. I recommend you consider Omnifocus. It is a task management program which runs on the Mac, Iphone & Ipad. I use it for task management and project management. It let's you store additional information as well. I sync all three devices through a Mobile Me account and I can enter data on any device and it is available on all devices. I believe you can also sync through Dropbox. I'm not sure that you can sync through iCloud yet. The link to their website is: www.omnigroup.com. There may be less expensive alternatives, but this one meets my needs and syncs very well across all devices.

Xcode - "The certificate for this server is invalid"

I'm trying to log into my Xcode Server (with it's own self-signed certificate) from my work iMac, I receive the following message:
"The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “[server name]” which could put your confidential information at risk. Would you like to connect to the server anyway?"
The only option is "OK" which just prompts the login screen again, it doesn't allow me to "connect anyway". How do I get around this? :/What account are you trying to access? Skype or some other site and you are being redirected to Skype?

My iPhone 5 dies at 20-24% it doesn't go all the way to 0%. Will apple replace my phone or fix my phone for free since its hardware problem and I have no money. This is my second iphone 5 replacement. I have no apple care so I'm worried. My phone has NEVER touched water! I only get 1/5 of battery use. I've also spent 30$ at the apple store on screen protectors for nothing! I really don't have 220$ nor 50$ I am on a strict budget. I believe I have to pay 220 not 50 ford a phone replacement for accidental damage. I don't know what category this falls under. I really need a new phone or battery. HELP! Will I have to pay? Also my screen lighting is all topsy-tervy every I put my screen on highest it won't work I have to wait about a minute? Forgot to mention that my apps exit out by themselves all the time when Im using them.
So, have you tried a reset? Restore from backup? Restore as new? You seem to have a few problems but do not mention any action taken to resolve them. What have screen protectors to do with anything?

I have an iphone 4s. A while ago it started having issues with bluetooth. All of the sudden, an audio headset I am using quits working with my iphone bluetooth. I check and my iphone doesn't see any of my bluetooth devices. I have an apple keyboard, a headset, and a speaker. Nothing shows up on my iphone but they all connect perfectly to my ipad. Then a day or so later it works again. The are all suddenly there. I just installed iOS7 and I'm still having the same problem. What is UP? Anyone have a clue what is going on?
I have this problem too. I have an iPhone 4, and this wasn't a problem when I bought the phone back in December. I think it came a month or so later and I suspect with a standard upgrade of something like itunes, or iphone software... but I can't pinpoint it to any specific update as it took me a while to notice it. For me, it does this with my work calendar which is run through Microsoft Outlook. But it's the exact same thing - and it means my calendar isn't reliable anymore.
I've made sure the time-zone settings are correct, I've updated all software, and gone through all possible settings for both my i-phone and Outlook. Nothing fixes the problem, even our tech guy at work didn't know what to do. I know it's not just my phone as the exact same thing has happened with my boss's iPhone which is an iPhone 3G, and it frustrates him to no end.
I'm really hoping someone at apple can tell us what's going on, especially since it never used to do this and there doesn't seem to be any way to fix it. If someone thinks they know what itunes update this was due to, let me know - I'll see if I can go back to that older version. -

So I finally broke down and subscribled to iTunes Match just to see how it is and if it would be worth it to me. well right now im about to wig out because its been 4 days and i still have not gotten past step 3 on the proccesing...now to itunes match's defense, or iMatch as ive seen it called, i do have an emense itunes library of movies, tv shows, podcas, ringtones, and music (somewhere around 15,000 total) so I knew it would take a while, but 3 days?! And thats not even the problem, thats just a little grip I have cuz now I can't access my music on my iphone almost everything is greyed out.... i gould a back door to it where if i shuffle the album and skip to the song i want then that will work BUT! thats too much of a hassl!
Ok enough ******** cuz ima sit here just to see how long it takes and report back. Now for the real question.... I want to know that in all this waiting why does step 3 where it uploads artwork and remaining songs total number keep changing, i.e. :

so is it updating the number as it uploads them or what? It's confusing but im trying to give it a chance.*Update*

Can't access a website I use every day...the server where this page is located isn't responding :-(
Hi, I am trying to access the website bloglovin.com which I access everyday (as part of my job) with no problems, however, the last 2 days I have not been able to get on to the site. After waiting for ages for it to load I eventually get the message ' the server where this page is located isn't responding'. I've tried to access from both my macs and my iphone and I get the same message on all of them. Is this a problem with my mac or their server?

I did infact get it working earlier today by putting the IP address into the browser instead of the URL and it solved the problem, however, I now have the same problem again tonight. I've tried restarting the router and it hasn't made any difference. Putting in th IP address isn't working this time either!
