Can I share music with my wife if we have different Apple IDs

You can set up Messages and Facetime separate from your husband and still use the same iTunes to sync things like music, movies, Apps, etc.
To do this though, you need to get your own Apple ID. You then use your Apple ID to set up Messages and Facetime under your account. This way your Messages and Facetime calls will come from your account and your husbands from his.
And you will still be able to sync the devises on the same iTunes account.

  • HT204053 My wife and I have different Apple IDs but would like to share calendars; how best to accomplish this?

Sharing our calendars has become essential. We developed a joint calendar on iCloud. Each one of us has our own Apple ID on our iPhone 4S. How can we both have access to the same iCloud calendar so that we can keep current for both of us? Similarly, on partitions to our MacBook Pro?
    TIA
    Jeff

Select an iCloud calendar, right/command click on it and choose "Shared Settings". Follow the prompts.

  • Wife & I have different Apple IDs & can't link as Family?

Why can't my wife and I have different Apple IDs, join as "family" and use the same iCloud storage?  When Apple showed the iOS 8, the idea of building a family would allow all users, (ours have iPhone each, an iPad each, and one iMac that supports iCloud) to use the same iCloud storage.  That is what "family" ment to me.  Is there any way to fix this unfriendly family setting to work better, or must I buy more storage?

Family sharing doesn't include sharing the same storage plan, at least not at the present time.  Storage cannot be shared between two iCloud accounts/IDs.

You do not need to ask the same question twice. Stick with the first post that you started here.

Can I Share music from iPhone to wife's iPod we both have different Apple ids, and if I do share music will all my photos be shared too?

Depends on what the source of the music is (iTunes purchases, ripped CDs, etc.), and whether you are syncing to iTunes on a computer. As for simply sharing music directly from the iPhone to the iPod, no, you cannot.

  • HT5622 My wife and I have different Apple ID's and passwords but I want to share the music library which is on iCloud under my Apple ID.  How do I set her up to share the music library that exists in iCloud?

My wife and I have different Apple ID's and passwords but I want to share our music library which is on iCloud under my Apple ID.  How do I set her up to share the music library that resides on the iCloud under my Apple ID?

You would need to go to Settings>iTunes & App Store, tap her ID, sign out, then sign back in with your ID.  However, if she has turned on automatic downloads, download previous purchases or signed into an iTunes Match account using her current ID, she would have to wait 90 days from when she first did this to change to another ID.  She can, of course, sync your music to her device using iTunes without changing her ID association.

  • Can we share music/apps within a family while using different iTunes accounts?

Can we share music/apps within a family while using different iTunes accounts?
Recently purchased iPhone 5 for my wife and I + my daugther has an iPod.  I'd like for us all to have separate iTunes accounts so we can each use iCloud without getting each other's notifications, but would like to have one central repository for mucsic and apps.  I'm afraid if I set up iTunes accoutn for the tow of them, I'll have to re-purchase the music and apps (way too many!)

It can be done, but you will have to sign in to your account on her itunes to updated the apps. Try these instructions:

If you haven't set up your own Apple ID already don't.  I suggest you use the same apple ID as your wife's.  The alternative is to do this http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848.  It's not efficient as you have to swap apple id's to update apps under both IDs.  20/20 being hindsight, I would have never created a 2nd apple ID for my wife.
    Hope this helps.

If i hear Music with my EarPods and i HAVE an Apple watch Sport CAN i Control the Music on MY watch ?

    Hi witt20,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact configuration you are describing. If you are using your EarPods with your iPhone, you can control your music on your iPhone with the built-in Music app on your Apple Watch, as noted here:

Can my husband and I share purchases on itunes, even if we have different Apple ID's? Can we sync each other's devices to our itunes accounts? Before we had it so that, he had the itunes account and synced my iphone to it as a named device, but the problem was, when I used to send imessages, it looked like it was from my husband and not me!

  • HT204053 My kids now each have an itouch, should we all have different apple ids even if I am paying for all itunes and app store purchases? what about icloud? I would like to share itunes and app purchases, but not necessarily photos...help please!

My kids now each have an itouch, should we all have different apple ids even if I am paying for all itunes and app store purchases? what about icloud? I would like to share itunes and app purchases, but not necessarily photos...help please!

The recommended solution for most families is to share the same Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases, so you can share your purchases, but us different IDs for iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud.  With this arrangement, each person can automatically download purchases made on the shared ID (by turning this feature on in Settings>iTunes & App Stores), while keeping their FaceTime calls, text messages and iCloud data (including photo stream) separated.  There is no requirement that the ID you use for purchasing be the same as the ID you use for these other services.
