I will address your second question.
First, make sure your iPhone and iPad have absolutely identical Apple IDs. If they do, use that Apple ID in Settings > iCloud on your iPhone to select the "Notes" option. Lo and behold, all your iCloud notes should appear on your iPhone.

I can hardly believe my old school Palm Pre was much friendlier than the IPhone. I have had it for more than six months and still cannot sync my Outlook calendars and contacts. I get a message like, "no calendar application identified." help!

I tunes did sync once or twice in the six months that I have had it, but more often it acts like it is syncing and ultimately delivers a message like "no calendar application is supported". Why the back and forth. Very frustrating after literally hours of trying to sync my phone with my Outlook calendar and contacts. HELP!!!!

What version of MS Office do you have installed? Have you tried re-installing office over top of itself? It may not be properly registered with the OS.

New Windows 8 ignores syncing my Outlook calendar and contacts

My Lenovo Ultrabook Yoga 13 runs Windows 8 and the iTunes sync process totally ignores my Outlook Calendar, Contacts, and Notes. I tried the one-time forced replacement choice, but replacing Calendars, Contacts, and Notes with my PC information and that approach also indicated it ran normally, but no information was changed on my iPhone 5. I searched for solutions on web and found a suggestion to completely uninstall iTunes and search for all related type files like Bonjour, QuickTime. I purged al lApple/iTunes related files, then reinstalled iTunes latest version. I first ran the nomral sync with the appropriate Outlook sync boxes check and it ignored again. Next I tried the replace from PC again and still the iPhone kept all its exisiting information with no updates from my PC. Any suggestions how to get the sync process to work normally again?

When you removed all of the Apple software, i.e. iTunes, Bonjour, etc. did you do it in the order listed in this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923?
I know Apple and Microsoft have not announced full support for Windows 8 and iTunes, or even with Outlook 2013. While some have reported that it works, there can be any number of reasons why a sync would not occur. A bad USB driver, a recurring appointment without an ending date can cause syncing errors, problems with the Apple Mobile Device driver, and finally a corrupt Outlook.pst file. You can go into iTunes and go to Edit, Preferences, Devices and click on Reset Sync History. You can update the drivers, you can run scanpst.exe on the Outlook data file.
I have used Outlook 2003, 2007, and am currently on 2010. I have not had an issue with syncing until the other day. Out of the blue, the calendar stopped syncing. You can usually fix just the calendar by importing then re-exporting the calendar again, but that didn't work. I couldn't find the corrupt appointment so I had to delete all 4 of my calendars and create new ones and re-enter all the data. Luckily it is generally only about 2.5 to 3 months of data on the main calendar. The other three are family work and school calendars.
You can try any number of things,and check on the right side of the thread under "More Like This" and you might find something there you have not tried and might help. Good luck.

When I try it crashes Outlook. iTunes continues to try to sync, but when it finishes my Calendar and Contents are empty (ERASED!). I have de-installed and re-installed iTunes (according to Apple's instructions), repaired Office 2013 and Outlook, scanned for viruses (etc), cleaned out temp folders, defragmented, etc., etc., etc. Has anyone seen this before, and does anyone know houw to fix it? (HELP!)

Outlook calendar and contacts sync limits with Xperia Z1 Compact

I have just set up my Xperia to sync with Outlook Calendar and contacts- took a while to realise outlook calendar needed to be closed to work, however now that I am able to sync my calendar and contact, I am only able to sync some of the items in my contact and the calendar updates to my phone only sync for a few months. Is there an option on this phone or in PC Companion where I can sync all calendar and contact entries, or somewhere that limits entries that I can switch off?

There was a setting I hadn't found in the PC Companion software:
On the start sync page there is a settings heading next to a spanner on the righthand side - this takes you to sync settings
Select Personal Data Selection and then the properties button for Calendar
You can then set the sync to select all your appointments or a subset.
I hope that this helps someone - it has taken hours to find this setting!

The problem here is that iTunes wants to make sure that the songs that were purchased are sent to the same device that purchased them. In this case, you would need to authorize your computer first. This is as easy as opening iTunes, find "store" in the upper status bar, and select Authorize This Computer. A dialogue will pop up asking for your iTunes ID and your password. Enter the ID you purchased the songs with. Afterwords, you should be able to sync the songs.

A couple of options. Do you want your whole library on the other drive or just media? You can split media between drives starting with now, but this will be a big nuisance when you come to move your library in the future.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

I forgot my passcode then had to reset my iPod touch, this was successful. Then in the syncing process some of the songs and apps were not syncing because they weren't "authorized". If I use add file / folder to library, it scans the folder and then makes a copy of any file that is not in my library in the exact same location; I recal in older versions of iTunes being able to just drag my media folder into my library and it would update missing links.

Only the songs that are connected to iTunes will be copied when you consolidate to a new folder.
Splitting the media folder away from the usual location makes it harder to move iTunes in the future.
Are you go move everything back once you've tidied up or are you going to leave it that way? Either way I'd recommend you create an iTunes folder at the new location, an iTunes Media folder inside that, and consolidate to this new iTunes Media folder. You should also use the option File > LIbrary > Organize Library > Rearrange files in the folder "<Media Folder"> if you have not already done so.

It is unusual for the calendar to sync and not the contacts in Outlook. I've worked with Outlook for years. You didn't answer what computer OS you are using. If it is Windows, have you tried to reset the sync history in iTunes? Do that by opening iTunes, go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and click on reset sync history. If you have done this and it doesn't help, then we can try and run scanpst.exe on your Outlook file and see if there are any errors. Search your computer for that file, however it normally resides in one of the Microsoft Office folders in the folder Program files. After that, you can see if it will sync.
