HT203167 Problems with purchased songs.

I purchased music from iTunes recently. Although some of my songs appear to have fully downloaded, many are only able to play parts of the song before they cut off and switch to the next song in the list. The software on my computer, iTunes, and iPod are all up to date and installed correctly. Please help.

Does the track play correctly in Quicktime Player?  If it does then it is an iTunes issue.  If it doesn't then it is possible the file was not completely downloaded, or is corrupt.  If you believe it is corrupt:
If you are in a country where re-downloading is possible (iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085), delete the track (and the original file) and download again (Downloading [using iOS or computer] past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519).  See tips on downloading in https://discussions.apple.com/message/19097773, especially unchecking the "Allow Simultaneous Downloads" box in the downloads tab of iTunes.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

    Hello susanserio
Try Deauthorize your account and then Authorize the account to see if any changes occur. Also there may a resolution in the second article that can be helpful as well.

  • Problems with purchased songs and iTunes 7.0.1

For some odd reason, I can't transfer purchased songs onto my ipod. They appear to be transferred, but I can't play them nor can I open them within iTunes. Is this an authorization issue? Has anyone had a similar problem?
    TIA
    -Chris

They appear to be transferred, but I can't play them nor can I open them within iTunes.
could you walk us through what happens when you try to play the songs in itunes, Chris?

  • Problem with purchased song

I just purchased a single the other day, and when i purchased it the song listed at a length of 3:17. when i listened to it the song gets cut off at that point and doesn't finish. i thought this was strange, so i checked the single again on iTunes today and now the song available for purchase is 4:12 long. any way to get the full song since i already paid for it, or am i just out of luck?

Contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page and explain the problem to them. They'll probably either re-authorize the download or issue a credit to your account so you can buy it again.

  • Two Problems with Purchased Songs

I've run into two problems recently. The first is that today my iPod stopped playing purchased music, the second is that my computer died so the only place I have my purchased music is on my computer.
Will iPod's stop playing purchased music after a certain period of time, if they are not reconnected to the appropriate authorized computer?
Also, in the case of a computer crashing, is there another way to recovered purchased music?

I was able to get my music back from help from someone on the forum. THANK YOU
I just need help with syncing phone to itunes.

  • HT1325 Problems with purchased songs and new computers

I have a new computer; my first mac. I am an apple convert, previously owning a toshiba. Some of the songs from an album I purchased through itunes will not play. What do I do? They have an ! with a circle around it next to them. I do not have a hardcopy or backup to revert back to. I just want to know how to be able to play these songs and listen to them as I have purchased the right to do so.

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be redownloaded in all countries) then you might be able to redownoad it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage.
If it shows there but doesn't have the cloud symbol against it then try deleting it from the Music part of your library (where you are getting the exclamation mark) and it should then get the cloud symbol in Purchased for redownloading.
If music shows there but not that album then is it still in your country's store ? If it is then check to see if it's hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
If you aren't in a country where music can be redownloaded or if it'sno longer in your country's store then you won't be able to redownload it.
But you should be keeping and maintaining a backup copy of all of your downloads, an item can be removed from the store at any time - you are only guaranteed one download of each item.

  • Problem with purchase orders and cancelling order lines

    Hi,
We have a problem with purchase orders and cancelling order lines. For example we have created PO no. 4300291277:
We have made a GR 5000186897 on 03.09.2010 amount 1.920 and tried to cancel it with GR 5000208866, but it takes the invoice amount 1.724 instead of 1.920. What is the correct way to undo this orders, so we cancel the 1.920 and not the 1.724?
Please help me, your help will be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Najma.

    hi,
You have to cancel the IR first...and then do cancel the GR...
yes, there will be diff. in the price(if the price changes in bwtn)..if no changes in the price , the price will taken as old one..
    Process:
    1. Cancel IR
    2. Then cancel GR..
    3. then go the PO and try to delete the line item..

Make sure your payment information on your iTunes account matches with your bank's. If it's correct and you still cannot purchase, you'll need to contact support and have them check your account.

  • Problems with some songs in iTunes (and my iPod)

    Hi,
I do not know whether this is the right category for my problem, but I did not find a suitable one.
I have problems with some songs in iTunes. They do not sound right. It is hard to me to describe my problem in English (thanks to apple's "great" support...I was not able to contact them personally except by phone). The songs "hang", they sound like someone reels (?) it. The problem does not only appear with iTunes but also with my iPod nano first generation.
My godmother brang me CDs where that problems appear (but not the whole CDs have that problem, only a few songs) from the USA - I live in Germany. Maybe that is cause of the error. But I cannot imagine that, because CDs there and here have the same format and I have several CDs from the US where is no problem at all. I am absolutely sure that the CDs are originals and not a copy, by the way.
Maybe you can help me, it would be great!
    Thanks,
    Jule

Yes, I thought that's what Restore should do, but the problems remain.  Hmmm, the out of order 'album's' songlist is notated 1 of 8, 2 of 8, 3 of 8...  I'll try 01, 02...
    Probably a good idea.
The other album is running through the list of songs like fast-forward, but not playing the songs.  Then, iPod locks up.
Do these same tracks play okay in iTunes?  What is the original source for these tracks?  Were they downloads from the iTunes Store or imported from outside of iTunes?  What format are they encoded in and at what bitrate?

  • Problems with playing songs in iTunes

as the subject says. I have som problems with playing songs. not everyone just a some..
If we take for example that a song is 8min. then at 1.40 it just stops and goes to the next one. I can jump over it with pressing in the middle for example. it plays. as normal. UNTIL. 3 mins. then the same problems appear. I don't really understand how. just between 1.40-1.50 iTunes thinks that the song is finished. I know my english isn't so good but cuz there is no swedish support. I have to write here. any answers would be good

    I'm having a similar problem.
Every now and then, a track from a ripped CD or from iTunes or from eMusic will "look" OK in iTunes (or on my iPod), but when the track plays, it gets partially through and it jumps to the next track in the playlist.
For example, if playback of track 1 pauses and jumps to track 2 at 1:30 into playback of track 1, & I click on 1:31 or later in track 1, the rest of track 1 will play fine. But if the playback of track 1 starts at the before the "skip point," the track will stop & iTunes (or iPod) goes on to the next track in the playlist. If I locate the file (on my external drive) and play it in the finder, there's always buzzing sound at the point where the iTunes jumps to the next track.
For ripped CD's this is not a huge deal, I just re-rip & usually all is well. With eMusic, I can download again, but with iTunes, I have to file a complaint & so far they've just credited my account, which is OK, but time consuming.
At first I thought the problem was with my optical drive, but then the problem started happening with downloads from iTunes and eMusic as well. NONE of these shenanigans happened before I upgraded to iTunes 7.6, so I'm wondering if that's where the problem is. One thing's for sure: I'm not going to "jump" at the next upgrade of iTunes!
I'm totally stumped & bummed. iTunes used to be a really good friend, now I find myself wondering if I should bother with putting my entire CD collection on iTunes if it's no longer as reliable as it used to be.

  • Problem with certain songs and ipod corrupting itself

my 4g ipod has some serious problems with some songs, almost exclusively by bands with "S" names (something corporate, saves the day, and snow patrol off the top of my head - and I doubt it matters anyways). It will either play the first few seconds of the song or won't play it at all before it skips to the next track. I've tried converting the offending tracks/cd's to AAC with little success. While the song is trying to play the hard drive is clicking/vibrating/working at a rapid pace. I know this isn't a good thing at all, and there probably isn't a way to fix it, but if someone can fill me in with any info, it would be appreciated, as it's starting to happen to more and more songs.
Also, it corrupts itself about once a week and I have to restore and reload all my songs. This isn't a huge issue because I don't keep anything exclusively on the ipod but it is annoying.
Any advice, insight, or pity is appreciated.

it's now corrupting itself every time I plug it into my computer. I fear it may be a goner. Lasted a little less than 18 months.

  • Problems with purchasing iMac 27" online

I recently bought an iMac 27" from the Apple Online Store as a X'Mas present for my girlfriend. The problem with purchasing online is that I have to stay at home all day for TNT to deliver as I live on my own.
When I received the good, I noticed that the original transparent sticker on the box has been opened and another placed on top of it. I called Apple Sales Support and they said there is no way that should happen. After some back and forth phone calls, they eventually get back to me and said they customs opened it to check, and they offered me to exchange or refund. But I trusted them that there should be no problems so I kept it since if I exchange it I won't be able to give it to my girlfriend on X'Mas Day.
When we opened the box on X'Mas Day, we realised that the tilt on the display is very loose. I went to a few shops and checked their displays and none are as loose as mine.
Now I need to wait for the courier to come and pick up my faulty iMac and then need to wait for Apple to send a new iMac. The good thing is I do not need to carry it back to the shop.
I seem to think Apple's product quality is going downhill. I purchased a photobook recently using iPhoto and the quality of the paper and printing is worst than before.

Sorry to hear of your problems, but these are user to user forums and we cannot help with the issues you've detailed - you will need to contact Apple directly.

  • I have an old account with purchased songs in it,however I have a new account now which does not allow me to listen to this purchased music.I have tried changing the password but to no avail. Please help

The problem is I have an old account from an old I-pod which is now broken.Well the I-pod has been binned.I have a new i-pod and have a new user name.I have tried to access the songs i purchased yeateryear on my old device but and this  is a but .....The new account will not allow me to access these older purchased songs. I cannot listen to them or burn them onto a cd.It throws up my old account user name in a window with a password request to access this material.I have changed my password several times however I still cannot access these purchased songs.

iPods (that are not iPod touch) are not directly linked to any "account."  They are associated with your iTunes library.  The account in iTunes is your Apple ID, which is used to purchase and download content from the iTunes Store.  It lets the iTunes Store know who you are when you sign in.
Songs that are currently sold by the iTunes Store do not use DRM (copy protection).  However, songs purchased during the earlier days of the iTunes Store do use DRM.  If you have such songs that were purchased using a previous Apple ID (not your current Apple ID), you need to authorize your computer for that previous Apple ID.
Find one of the songs that does not play due to this problem.  Right-click on it in any iTunes list, and select Get Info.  On the song's Info window Summary tab, look for Apple ID.  That is the Apple ID used to purchase this song.
From the iTunes menu bar, under Store, select Authorize This Computer.  In the dialog window that appears, enter that Apple ID used to make the old song purchases (plus password).  Do not enter your current Apple ID and password.  Click Authorize.
The computer is now authorized for BOTH your old Apple ID and your current Apple ID.

  • Problems with 'Purchased' Music showing up as 'Error' in Match

I'm mystified by one aspect of iTunes Match behaviour.  I have a large collection of U2 songs, some of which I had ripped from CD and some of which, latterly, I bought through iTunes.  As you can see, most of the songs I have were found and matched by iTunes without a problem.
What I don't understand is why I am seeing Error against the songs from 'No Line On the Horizon' and 'Zooropa' when these were purchased from iTunes.  They are definitely in my Library because I can manually locate them.
Additionally, I don't understand why for two of the songs, Zooropa and Lemon, it wants me to download them again as 'Purchased'.  Why those two and not the others with Errors against their name?  I bought the No Line and Zooropa tracks from Apple to begin with.
Thirdly, it appears from the iTunes list above that I have two copies of Zooropa when in fact I only have one.  I can easily find the files in Finder as you can see from the screen shot below.
I don't really want to have to re-download all the songs that iTunes can't find as this will mean I just have duplicates. Equally, I don't want to have to re-attach or re-import Error songs that I know are on my HD and which have somehow been dropped by the iTunes Match process.
And I get terribly confused in this process of syncing and matching if I try to delete some of these duplicate entries, because frankly if I delete something and it's removed from iCloud and all my devices, I'm no longer quite sure what I'm removing and where from.
I have backup but should it be this difficult?

    It can become confusing.
An easy route to resolve would be simply to copy your U2 Songs to a standalone folder (outside iTunes).  Delete the Song files from iTunes (including the option to remove from the iCloud).  Once complete, turn iTunes Match off, go to the iTunes Store 'purchased' area and access all your U2 purchases.  From the U2 folder import any further U2 songs that were not purchased from iTunes.
Now sign-out of iTunes Store, restart computer from cold, start iTunes, sign-in to iTunes Store, start iTunes Match and allow is to complete the 3-step process.
At this point iTunes will correctly recognise all your purchased Songs and for the remainder will have successfully 'matched' or 'uploaded'.
This should leave your library in a stable working condition, with iTunes Match enabled and all U2 Songs.

  • Problem with purchasing from itunes

Has anyone encountered a problem when purchasing a song on credit. I have an account with credit and get a message a valid address is necessary to purchase using store credit. I don't understand I just downloaded on Tuesday and now can't get anything.
Thanking in advance for your hele

Try logging out and then back into your account and check to make sure that all the credit card info including your address is correct, if you still can't get it to work then I would contact Apple and ask them what's going on.
