iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.

    In iTunes, try signing out of your Apple ID & then back in: click on iTunes Store on the left sidebar of iTunes, click on your Apple ID on the top right, sign out, sign back in.  Then try to sync your purchased music to your phone again.

    Never mind, I think. I think I figured it out. There was 1 song (out of > 900!) that somehow had been purchased with the other ID - I have no idea how. Once I deleted that song, it stopped asking.
    There may be something with the newest iTunes version too. I didn't think in older versions that the "On this iPod" list of songs was greyed out. But at least it syncs ok.

    For the charging via USB, a lot of computers don't provide enough power to their USB ports to charge an iPad at a sufficient rate (it may still be charging, especially if the iPad's is locked and the screen is off), the iPad's own wall charger is generally the best way to charge it.

    I am unable to connect to any network. When I started digging in, I reached to Control Panel > Network Connections. There I don't find any icons related to LAN connection or Wireless connection. Why could this be happening? How to investigate it further?

    Your scenario #1 is a correct configuration and should work. It seems as though your Extreme is not acting as a router as I believe you intend.
    Most likely, you need to reset your modem. Power it down and let it rest for a few moments. Some need longer than others. Then, I recommend you "hard reset" your Extreme (see below) and configure it again, after the modem has been reset. From then on do not change what is connected to your modem without powering it down first.
    Once configured, confirm your Extreme's wireless network works as expected and that your iPad and every other wireless device can load web pages. Then, connect the printer directly to one of the Extreme's LAN ports and confirm that it works as well. After that it should work equally well with a switch between it and the Extreme, as should every other wired device connected to the switch. This assumes your switch is an unmanaged device requiring no specific configuration.
    Scenario #2: Having a router connected downstream of another is not a normal configuration, so don't pursue that as a solution. It will only distract you from determining the problem. If you want to repurpose Router X as another device do so only after everything else is working to your satisfaction.
    To "hard reset" an AirPort Base Station: make sure it's powered up, then press and hold its tiny reset button and keep it depressed for five to ten seconds, long enough for its LED to flash amber rapidly. Release the reset button. Then, the LED will glow amber steadily for about a minute. Then, it will flash amber, slowly, about once every second or two, waiting for you to configure it with AirPort Utility.

    As all of the msuic came from your computer in the first place it should still be there.  Is it not?
    EVERYTHING on your ipod should also be on your computer and should be included in your regular backup copy of your computer.
    Make sure that everything is on your computer.  You can transfer itunes purchases from the ipod.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases.
    When everything is on your computer, then it can be synced back to the ipod after updating.

    You can not setup a new iCloud account using a PC. You must use an Apple device (Mac or iPhone/iPad) to create the account, then sign into it using your PC.

    First of all, are you sure you're logged into the iTunes store on the same account (Apple ID) you originally put the balance on? With iCloud, many people have created new iCloud accounts, or moved over former Mobile Me accounts. Different accounts have separate purchase history and separate balances. Sign out of the iTunes store and make sure you use your old Apple ID that you used when you put the credit into the account.
    Second, check the purchase history of the account in iTunes. Make sure there are no odd purchases in there (to make sure for example, your account wasn't "hacked" or compromised), and make sure the purchase list contains things you DID purchase (thus helping you verify you are signed into the right account). The purchase history can provide clues to what happened.

    When you go into the compaitibility mode tab for the iTunes application, have you been making sure that all the boxes in there are unchecked? (Any checked box in there can produce a compatibility mode error, not just the compaitibility mode checkbox itself.)
    If all the boxes are unchecked, but you're still getting compatibility mode errors (especially if you've got a 64-bit version of Windows 7), the messages can be caused by an errant registry setting. See RandomBehavior's post here for advice on troubleshooting that possibility:

    Having the same problem - am running Win 7 Pro 32 bit. Discovered that when you close iTunes task manager shows that iTunes.exe is still running and will not close unless you reboot. I have also found that after starting Win 7 that if I launch iTunes by inserting a CD, the CD plays and displays all tracks correctly. However, if I eject the CD and insert a different one neither Win 7 or iTunes recognises the CD. These problems seem to have started with the release of 10.5.2 - prior to that no problems at all. Have tried reinstalling and it does not make any difference.
