HT204053 icloud question

hello there i have problem to sign in to icloud it says "the maximum number of free accounts have been activated on this iphone "please help me out of this

What you're doing is trying to create a new icloud account.  But devices are limited to 5 such processes and you've reached the limit.  You must use another device or computer to create an icloud account.

    What question?
    What did you try?
Was the device connected to Wi-Fi or Cellular data?
Do you really want help?  If so, stop being vague and provide some details.

  • HT204053 Naive question I know but here goes. One apple ID, multiple apple IOS devices (touch/pad/phone). Books purchased via Kindle sync to ALL devices via iCloud. How can I stop this? I want to separate each of the family's reading prefernces from the d

    Naive question but here goes.
As a family we have one Apple ID. All devices are synced via my PC and backed up to it rather than to iCloud.
Books purchased via Kindle App appear on all the devices within the "cloud" option. How do I separate each reader's prefernce to their own device? I want to make sure that the younger one's dont have access to anything unsuitable.
    Thanks.

You can have one AppleID for your purchases so that all teh devices can use all the apps without having to buy them again, and at the same time, have different iCloud accounts for each user so that their content is not intermingled with everyone else's.  You can even go so far as to have your iCloud Account enabled for "Find my iPhone" for each of the other devices allowing you to keep track of where tehy are when they get misplaced.
If you need/want, you can share iCloud Calendars between different iCloud accounts as well.  This is exactly what my wife & I have done.  We share calendars so I know when she has classes or dog competitions, and she can see my work schedule so she knows what nights I have to be in late, etc.

  • HT204053 Stupid question, but how do I get to/access my iCloud?!

Stupid question, but how do I get to/access my iCloud? All this time, I've been under the impression that every time I plug in & lock my screen, things on my phone are backed up in my cloud, but I've never been able to find it to check! And, yes, I'm blonde! Please help me!

You can't see the backup, all you can do is confirm that it was successfully completed.  To do this, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup and look at the very bottom under Back Up Now.  It will show the time/date of your most recent backup.  If you see this, you do have a backup in iCloud and can restore it to your device in the future if you ever need to.  (You also can't see any of the files in a backup, you can only restore it to your device.)

  • HT204053 icloud backup with multiple devices and apple ids

Wondering if I have the appropriate set up to ensure all my data, purchases, apps, etc. is properly backed up to my icloud (personal email account)?  Here is my current set up.  PC: itunes - personal email; iPhone: icloud & store purchases - personal email; iPad: icloud-work email and store purchases-personal email.  So will store purchases on my iPad still go to my personal icloud?  (Note I can't change the iPad: icloud log in - iPad owned by work so required setting)
Also, does icloud copy any data from my PC other than itunes?  Not sure if the set up questions when I icloud on my PC are related to my PC or to the various devices.  For instance, "Mail" is an option - which mail account is this?
Any clarification on these questions would be much appreciated!

    My iphone 5s = apple id 1
    Husband iphone 4s = apple id 2
My ipad = apple id 3
Son #1 ipad mini = apple id 4
Son #2 ipad mini = apple id 5
For iCloud.. Not quite, you want the same ID for iCloud on your phone and iPad so you have the same info on each. (so perhaps ID 1 on both.
But if you want to share your music (assuming lets say its your ID 1 that has the iTunes account), you should all use ID 1 for iTunes.

  • Restoring with iCloud questions?

I have a few questions about restoring with iCloud. Here's a little background. I have an iPod touch with about 1000 pictures/videos on it. I just got a new iPhone 5 and it has my contacts on it. I want the photos from my iPod onto my iPhone's camera roll. I backed up my photos from my iPod onto iCloud and I backed up my contacts from my iPhone onto iCloud.
If I erase all content and settings on my iPhone will anything happen to my wireless access? Meaning will my iPhone not be connected to my Verizon phone number? Second, can I restore from both the backups? Third, do I have to download all my apps and songs when I back it up or can I just put the pictures and contacts on and then sync my iPhone with iTunes? Will syncing with iTunes be any different?
    THANKS SO MUCH!

You will not be able to restore photos to an iPhone from an iPod backup if that's what you're trying to do.  Restoring photos from a backup of a different device is not supported.  If your only reason for wanting to restore from your iPod backup is to transfer the photos and videos to your iPhone, just use an app like PhotoSync, which will transfer the photos directly to your iPhone over your wifi.  If you need to transfer your other data, settings, apps and other purchased content from your iPod you can go ahead and restore from the iPod backup.  However, this will not transfer the photos and videos.
If you erase all content and settings on your phone, it will erase the phone completely (including contacts).  You will then go through the setup assistant screens on the phone, choosing your region, connecting to your wifi, etc.  It will verify your phone with Verizon and you will retain your current number.  If your contacts are in iCloud, they will reappear on your phone when you sign back into your account.  When you restore the iPod backup it will restore apps, music and other media purchased from the iTunes and App stores (by redownload them from the store).  It will only restore apps that are compatible with your iPhone.
BTW, it would be much faster to do this with iTunes rather than iCloud.  Just connect your iPod to your computer, open iTunes, go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases to transfer all your apps and other purchased media to your itunes library.  Then click on the name of your iPod in iTunes, go the the Summary tab and click Back Up Now to create an iTunes backup.  Then connect your phone to iTunes, click on the name of your phone in iTunes, go the the Summary tab and click Restore iPhone, then select your iPod backup to restore from.

  • ICloud questions

I'm still confused on what gets synced through icloud. I have added some PDF files to my ibooks in itunes. they are not showing up in the ibook app on my iphone. I thought the idea is to be "pc free" but it appears i will still have to sync through itunes to get these files in my ibook app. If i do sync to get these in, are things going to get mixed up in icloud (will I get some items doubled because they are already in the cloud and might be added again through itunes. Along these same lines, When I take a photo with my iphone it gets put in the icloud via photostream then it ends up in my iphoto app on my macbook. Do i still need to attach my phone and download this photo to iphoto then delete it from my iphone? I'm confused.

Still trying to understand iCloud and have another question. My wife and I share the same account. She also has an iPhone. If I enable the iCloud calendar on her phone will all her events show up on my phone and iPad as well, and vice versa, will all my events show up on hers ?

  • HT204053 iCloud setup

I used my gmail address (for some reason) when I downloaded iCloud and when I went to settings to set up iCloud it showed that it is not verified. I eventually managed to add my gmail address to my Apple account, but it still won't let me get past the notification that I should check my email. I've done this 10 times, and my gmail account has been verified. I even downloaded the paid version of iCloud using my primary email but it still shows my gmail account on setup and I can't get iCloud set up. Can somebody please assist?

  • Stolen laptop, iCloud question.

My laptop was stolen yesterday while I was at work. I have heard from some people that you could track it if it was ever connected to Icloud. Mine was but I can't see a way to track it other than Find My Iphone and I never set that up on my mac. Is there any other way to track it? Thanks for any help in advance, Sorry if this is a stupid question.

If you never enabled Find My Mac on it before it was stolen there is no way to track it.  If you did, you may be able to track it as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0f2442.

  • ICloud Question PLEASE HELP!?

I'm getting ready to sync my iPod touch 4g to my new laptop and I don't wanna lose my app data. I want to know if iCloud will help.
My questions are, if I were to sync my iPod to the computer:
    A) How would I restore it via iCloud &
    B) Would everything be the same (i.e. App data, Safari bookmarks, Home Screen Folders, etc.)
I using an HP and Windows 7 if that helps.
Thanks so much for the help.

Thanks for that article.  I have one other question.  If I do backup and restore my iPod via iCloud, how will I sync my iPod with iTunes without iTunes erasing the all my stuff?

  • Simple iCloud question

Hi guys. I hvan't start using iCloud properly yet, but when I get my 4s next month I'm looking foward to it. One of the things I'm most excited about is iWork syncing.
    Question.
So I'm on my Mac, on Safari at www.iCloud.com. Lets say I drag an essay I'm working on onto the pages section of iWork and wallah, it appears on my iPhone. If I then open the document in Pages for mac, and make a few changes will those changes be made to the iPhone version and vice-versa. So what I'm asking is, when you decide to put a document onto the cloud via your mac or pc, is that document then part of iCoud in the sense that it will update on all devices etc?
    Thnaks for your help.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Any changes you make to a document on your mac will require you to upload that document again to iCloud.com, changing the original on your mac will not result in the version at iCloud.com being changed.
Any document uploaded to iCloud.com will be synced to all your iCloud devices.
One more thing to remember is that if you upload a document to iCloud from your mac, it can't be downloaded again to any mac until it is first opened on an iOS device.

  • HT204053 icloud keeps saying password is wrong

way cant i log in to the icloud it keeps saying password wrong ..how do i get in ....

(Is this a trick question?)  Answer: by entering the correct pasword.
But seriously,  have you recently changed your password?  Here's a test:  using a computer's browser, try to log into icloud.com.  If you can't, then you are using the wrong password.  If you can, then be sure that the password that's entered in Settings>iCloud is correct.

  • ICloud question never asked before

So I've bought iPhone 5 as a present for my brother from a second hand store, and it was fully working, I've put my apple credentials to get access to apple store and stuff, even more, I've checked "Find My iPhone" option and phone showed in icloud.com, so when I was sure that everything is good with the phone, I've wiped it off using option on icloud.com. Before wiping device I've put my phone number, since icloud ask for it, guess what was my surprise when phone turn on and ask me for someone else apple credentials. Now Apple bounce me from left to right stating that I need proof of purchase from original owner, I've provide them a receipt that I've got from store that I've bought phone, but they're still not really willing to help. Due data protection act they cannot contact previous owner, neither they can't provide me even an email to that person. iPhone apparently have two iCloud accounts now, mine and previous owner, but I can't use my credentials to activate device.
    And now my question:
If i can prove that I've bought phone second hand from legit source does that make me an owner of device, and prove that my credentials being used with phone before iPhone being wiped, why Apple still hesitate to remove iCloud lock?

Because you bought it from a secondhand store and not an original seller. The person who sold it to them might have stolen it.
