  • HT204081 Can i read books bought in itunes on my computer? Trying to open in adobe reader and all i have are blank pages.

I have purchased books on itunes, can read them on ipad, but cannot read them on my computer. They will go into my Adobe digital reader and list the table of contents but all pages are blank.
So should i have not bought itune books and stayed with amazon and others?

iBooks purchased via iTunes are normally protected with DRM and can only be viewed using the iBooks app on an iOS device. Such requirements are stated on every page where you can purchase an iBook, just below the button to buy.

  • HT201272 Can't find book purchases in iTunes

I have changed from a PC laptop to a Mac Book,  and now can't find any of my previous book purchases in the iTunes store.
All movie / tv / music files are there, but not the dozens of e/audio books I have purchased.

Audiobooks are not included in the items we can redownload. If you need help in retrieving them, I recommend contacting support.

  • Can you read books purchased on iTunes on your pc?

My iPhones has a cracked screen. I am waiting until march when my next update is avail to upgrade. I would like to purchase a book on iTunes and read it on there as well. Is this possible or do I have to use iBooks, newstand etc..
    Thanks.

To read ibooks bought from Apple you need the iBooks app, so you need an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch - so far Apple haven't made a Mac or PC program with which you can read them. If you buy the book from, for example, Amazon then they have a Kindle program for your computer with which you can read purchases from them

  • Where can I view my purchase history for itunes

My bank statement has a charge from iTunes,  but I do not remember buying anything and I have no email invoice for this purchase. I cannot figure out how to view my purchase history in iTunes on the website or on the app. How can I view my purchase history for any and all purchase made on my ipad? Not sure if it was an in-app purchase, book, music, etc. because I do not recall buying anything at all.

You can oly view the full purchase history via your computer's iTunes : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases.
On your iPad you can only see a cut-down version (I think it shows the last 90 days), and optionally contact iTunes Support if you have a problem with a purchase, via a browser : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

  • Why can't I read books purchased from itunes on my macbook pro?

I find it very upsetting that books purchased from itunes on a Macbook pro can not be read on a Macbook Pro.

Many MacBook Pro users are professional authors, reseachers, teachers, ... and we need to manage large libraries of copy protected digital material (journals, book collections, protected imagery, ...) , which we directly reference and include (with citations) in our writing and analyses.
Laptops and desktops are the only viable options in terms of screen real estate (multiple monitors needed), application availability (image analytics, serious statistics, real 2D and 3D modeling, ...) high speed storage attachment (the cloud can't handle many needs) and processing horse power. iPads and iPhones are a few generations away from being adequate for many such activities, which Apple had traditionally supported.
This particular oversight by the  folks behind the Apple iTunes bookstore business, stands in stark contrast to what used to be our vision of the premier professional creative platfom. I find this deeply dissappointing and inconsiderate of our long term investment in apple technologies.
Asking folks to simply abandon their investment in copy protected ebook material, purchased on iTunes, is just wrong.

  • Can't download new podcasts or recent book purchases in iTunes

I can't download new podcasts or recent book purchases in iTunes. I'm using iTunes 10.6.1 on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.7.4. This started a week ago. I unsubscribed and resubscribed to my podcasts (no luck). I whitelisted the possible sending domains from a whitepaper I found on this site (no luck). I haven't added any other software or made any other changes to my computer configuration.
I bought these books on my iPad and they aren't downloaded there either (previously had no problems buying and downloading books to both iPad and MacBook). Interestingly, I was also unable to download App updates on my computer via iTunes until just now, when they suddenly were successfully downloaded. I've been able to download App updates on both iPad and iPhone all along.

Forgot to post the error message I've been getting when I open iTunes:
"There were problems downloading some purchased items.
For more information on the items that could not be downloaded, click below.
There was a problem downloading “The Blind Assassin / Margaret Atwood”. You do not have the privilege to make changes.

  • Is it possible to share a book purchased in itunes?

is it possible to share a book purchased on itunes?

Only if both devices share the same Apple ID.  We have two iPhones and two iPads in my house.  All are on the same Apple ID, so we can share all apps, books, magazines, etc.

  • Can I share books purchased from Apple with other IPad users

Can I share books purchased from Apple with other IPad users

You can share them this way:
Suppose you and the person you're trying to share with (I'll call her Jane) have two separate computers with two separate Apple IDs.  Each of those two computers have a current version of iTunes.
You could copy your book from your version of iTunes over to Jane's.  How you do that depends on what types of computers you have, etc.
So now your book is sitting in Jane's iTunes.  But you own the book, so Jane cannot access it.  What you have to do, then, is authorize Jane to access the book you bought.
You do that on Jane's computer in iTunes by going to Store > Authorize This Computer in iTunes' menu.  Enter your Apple ID and password there.
Then once Jane syncs her iPad to her iTunes, she will have access to your book.

You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer your questions, you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699

  • How can I view duplicate songs in iTunes 11?

How can I view duplicate songs in iTunes 11?

If needed press ctrl-b to reveal the menu bar. Use Shift-View > Show Exact Duplicates to reveal the duplicates. Keep one of each repeated group of files and don't send to the recycle bin unless you are sure that there are multiple files on the disc as opposed to multiple entries to the same file.
There is also my DeDuper script if you don't want to do it by hand. This can preserve ratings, play counts, playlist membership, etc. which are lost in a manual clean up. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping. See this thread for background on deduping and the script.
