If you have previously purchased content fromt the iTunes store, you should be able to redownload it. You may find the following article helpful:

I have an iPAD2 and an iPAD mini and tried to upgrade to IOS 7.0.6 but both froze and I had to restore to factory setting (backup also did not work!). I was able to get most of my purchased books and apps from iTUNES (through my computer) but lost all magazine subscriptions. iTUNES is asking me to pay for them again. Has anyone else had a similar problem and do you know how to restore the subscriptions without paying for them again?
Thank you!Thanks for the feedback. The applications were there but the magazines themselves could not be downloaded without paying... What I had to do was go in the application and find the "restore purchases" button. It was hidden within the account settings but it solved the problem!

My previously bought TV Shows now shows that I have to pay for them again.

I bought several seasons of "The Office" and everything is available except for most episodes from 7 and 8. It just shows the monetary value and that I must pay for these.
How do I recover these episodes? I have gone through the hide and unhide route.

JoeOn your computer's iTunes, do they show in the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the store homepage for redownloading ? Or go into Preferences and on the Store tab tick the 'show iTunes in the cloud purchases' and see if they then show in the TV shows part of your library with a cloud icon against them for redownloading.
If you've changed countries since buying them then they won't show for redownloading.
And if not already doing so you should be keeping and maintaining your own backup copy of all of your downloads, any item (app, music album, tv show) could be removed by the content providers at any time, if they are removed you won't be able to redownload them -

You are able to sync purchased content from your iDevice to a new computer as long as the comptuer is authorized
To authorize the computer follow these steps
At the topi of the screen next to File- Edit -View, click store then Authorize this computer.
Enter in your appleID email address and password and click authorize
**If you do not see the File Edit View option, At the very top left corner you should see a little square click the square and click show menu bar.
Now that your computer is authorized click the file menu button, then click Devices, then go to your iPhones name and then click Transfer purchases this will allow you to transfer all of your purchased content to the computer
Now if you want to transfer your non purchased content to the computer you can do so if you have wif and the previous computer on the same network as the new computer with home sharing

If you bought them on your iPad then you will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and you can then sync them to your iPhone - ringtones are a one-time only download, so you won't be able to redownload them directly on your phone.

Yup, your question and Diane's answer helped me also. Tho' I had had problems before getting into the iTunes store I always managed to find a way. Today they had me blocked cold with the "Update to 10" advert no matter what I did. Other questioners are being told, incorrectly as it turns out, that they have to update their OS to accomodate iTunes 10 and upgrade to iTunes 10. I did the download which did not take up much more room on my crowded old hard drive and now I'm back in business.

This realy works??Where is the backup of the media and other important files from the computer? Ultimately, it is the users responsibility to ensure that backups exists. Waiting until there is a problem to decide to do a backup is not smart. Would you wait until a fire started in your home to call the insurance company and inquire about homeowners/renters insurance????
In the event that no backup exists (stop being lazy.... keep backups of YOUR data and other important files):
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, it is possible to redownload music via iCloud from purchased history.
If you are not in the US or for some reason cannot run iTunes 10.3 or later, contact iTunes customer support and ask very nicely for the opportunity to redownload the content. They are not required to provide this opportunity.
It is also possible to transfer content from an iDevice that was purchased via iTunes. On the new computer, sign into the iTunes account, authorize the computer, connect the device then select File > Transfer Purchases.
The simplest method of all is to transfer or copy the media (and other important files) from the old computer or the backup of the old computer. Typing "move itunes library" into the search bar here or into google will reveal step by step instructions on how to do this. -

Depending upon what country that you are in (and if you haven't changed countries since buying it and it's still in your store) then you might be able to redownload it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone.
You should also be regularly connecting your phone to your computer's iTunes and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases so as to copy all of your downloads over so that you can take a backup copy of them (and preferably taking a backup of the phone if you have any important documents and/or photos on it) - apps and other downloads could also be potentially be removed from a country's store at any time, so you may not be able to redownload them either. -

i bought some books about automotive engines by TSD training. A total of 3 books.
Earlier i was browsing the iBooks App Store and noticed these books were now part of a 14 course mechanics collection of books.
I wanted to buy the remaining 11 courses (iBooks) in this collection thinking I could just "complete my album" per say as you can when purchasing a collection of music on a given album but it seems I do not have this option. Will I have to pay for these 3 books again if I buy the collection? is there a way around this? Can I choose only the remaining books I need? Any help is appreciated. I have uninstalled Garageband due to problems. Now it seems I have to pay for it.
I've had some problems with Garageband when I tried to download extra content. I called Apple Support about a week ago and he said that one solution might be to uninstall Garageband and then reinstall in from Mac App Store.
I've now unnstalled Garageband. To download and install it again it seems I now have to pay for it. I've had my iMac since the end of December last year and it came preinstalled with Garageband. Apple Support is closed today because it's Sunday.
It's not a huge amount but I wonder if this is right?Done this? Alerts may occur when accepting bundled applications from the Mac App Store - Apple Support (Steps 1 - 4 in particular.)
