Have you checked the account's purchase history to see if anything could have used up the balance : See your purchase history in the iTunes Store - Apple Support ?
If there aren't any purchases then try logging out and back into the account (e.g. on your iPad tap on your id in Settings > Stores and then log back in) and see if a balance then shows on it. My account's balance shows at the top right of the store's page on my computer's iTunes, by clicking on my name towards the top right of the iTunes screen, and by logging in to view my account via the Store > View Account menu option. On my iPad devices it shows at the bottom of, for example, the Featured tab in the App Store app under my account id (or you can view your account via Settings > Stores and it should show on the screen that you are taken to)

The red writing below the key shows that the gift is not for an apple I.D. other than U.S. Since the payment has been made, and I am unable to redeem the application. Please help me in this regard.

You cannot gift from one countries Mac App Store to another country. You will not be able to redeem the gift. Send it back so that someone in the same country as she can redeem it. There is no way around this.

Try to go to the settings on your phone... Settings > Store > Click your Apple ID: And sign out from your account, then sign in again .... This solved the problem for me on my iPhone 4s

My iPhone 5 and my PC (Windows 7) will not allow me to redeem cards or make purchases. I get an unknown iTunes error 5002 on the PC and when using the iPhone it goes blank after a code is entered and does not return. It recovers when the home button is pressed. The software is up to date and this has been tried by USB and Wi-Fi from different netwroks. This matter has persisted for more than five days without a resolution from Apple support. The same PC allows purchases from iTunes from other accounts belonging to others who use the same PC with their IOS devices (iPhone 5, iPod Touch, iPod Shuffle).

Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.

Unable to redeem prepaid cards

I'm trying to redeem two prepaid cards--one for Photostop and one for Illustrator. I keep getting the message "The code you entered is invalid. Please try again." Just now it has changed to "We're sorry, something seems to be wrong on our end. Please try again later.". I've been trying for two days. I waited two hours to chat with support only to have the chat window stop updating when I got down to #4 in line.

Is it possible to look up what gift cards have been redeemed on an iTunes account? I have multiple children each with their own iTunes accounts and need to validate that each child is using their own cards and not others cards.

No, you can only see an account's balance and the purchases on an account, you can't see a list of gift card redemptions.
To view the balance : mine shows at the top left of the store's page on my computer's iTunes, and by logging in to view my account via the Store > View Account menu option. On my iOS devices it shows at the bottom of, for example, the Featured tab in the App Store app under my account id (or you can view your account via Settings > iTunes & App Stores and it should show on the screen that you are taken to).
To view the purchase history : log into the account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of its purchases.

HT5622 Redeeming Gift Cards from another country?

My daughter has been given an Apple gift cert bought in Ireland but her ID is UK store based, it states that she needs a new ID to use the Ireland store front. Which she moved to but it asked her to set up a new ID. If she has two ID's surely she will have two sets of music in two different locations?
Any ideas on how she can redeem this inot her UK iTunes ID so she can manage her music & videos in one location?

- You can only use the iTunes/App store in the country you are located. An iTunes gift card can only be redeemed in the same country's store in which the card was purchased.
- If she is in Ireland then shed can redeem the card into her existing account.existing . However, if she still has a balance for the UK store she has to remove that balance before she can change country store and redeem the Ireland card.

Is your iTunes account address, and other payment method(s) ((if applicable) associated with Canada? They have to be to use that Store.

Is the store that you bought it from closely so that you could try asking them to activate the cloud properly ?
