HT204368 iPhone continues to search for bluetooth devices even when connected thus affecting battery.

iPhone 4S continues to search for bluetooth devices even though it is connected to one.
Can this be stopped to save battery?

Why do you believe this is true?  If you're looking at the bluetooth settings page, simply opening that page in settings initiates the search. It stops when you close it.

  • Search For Bluetooth Devices

I dont know how to search for bluetooth devices on nokia e65. Need to set up a handsfree car kit with it. Where do i go on the phone to search for bluetooth devices??

    Hi lindi9
Select Menu > Connect > Bluetooth.
    1. When you activate Bluetooth for the first time, you are asked to give a name to your device. Give your device a unique name to make it easy to recognize if there are several Bluetooth devices in the vicinity.
    2. Select Bluetooth > On.
    3. Select My phone's visibility > Shown to all.

  • HT204368 4S searching for Bluetooth devices but not finding them?

Hi I have just bought a second hand Iphone 4S from a company online and I am trying to get Bluetooth headset paired.
I have turned the Bluetooth off and on, and the headset - I have put the bluetooth function on my other work phone a Blackberry and the iPhone is not finding them - it just keeps searching?
Tried to pair from the Blackberry and it would not work either
    Can anyone suggest anything?
    thanks

Stop trying. The iPhone Bluetooth does not include the necessary protocols to pair with another phone.  The headset on the other hand should be OK.

  • I have the new iphone 4S (this is my first iphone) I am having trouble connecting to my bluetooth device - the iphone is searching for the device but won't recognize it (my bluetooth device is a jawbone)

My iphone 4s does not recognize my bluetooth device - I don't know why
My bluetooth device is a jawbone and I have turned it on and sitting next to my iphone which is searching for bluetooth devices but will not recognize it
    Not sure why

    Thanks for the advice
I just tried turning the jawbone off and then turning it on and shaking it 4 times but the iphone 4s still won't recognize my jawbone
Do I need to unpair the jawbone from my blackberry first?  And if so, how do I do that?
so after double shaking, is the ring flashing red +white? If it is not, then it is not in pairing mode. (I'm assuming you have the ERA) And you see nothing on the iphone? Nothing is found? Or is the device found, but not paired.
try placing the jawbone in pairing mode first, and then turn off/on the iphone blue tooth.
I don't think you need to unpair with the BB. But you can try. go to BB settings and there should be a way to  forget the device.

  • IPhone4s searching for bluetooth even though it's connected.

I bought a Motorola H720. I have the iPhone4s. My phone recognizes and pairs with the device, but, when I go to bluetooth and turn it on, the phone acts like it is searching for the device even though it is connected. My question is, if I leave that screen and go back to the home screen does it stop searching?

    Yes it, it stops searching.
It is working exactly as it should.

  • My iphone 4 with latest software update has a problem with bluetooth.  It continually searches for other devices without showing any other bluetooth devices

I have an iphone 4 with latest software update.  When entering the settings for bluetooth it continues to search for devices.  It does not highlight any device, just continuous searching

    Hello:
What are you trying to do?  If you do not wish to connect to other BT devices, turn BT off.

  • Bluetooth continuing to search for devices  in jeep hand free

I paired the iphone 3g to my jeep "u conect" hands free, it paired ok but every time I go out of the car the iphone will never be available, tried a different phone and my car system work great, how can i fix the Bluetooth continuing to search for devices and will not conect to the car system

What year is your Jeep? There are a couple of other threads here regarding chyrsler (and other ) vehicles not connecting with phones that have software version 2.0 or higher.
As best as I can tell, it affects 2007 and later chrysler vehicles with Uconnect but not the MyGig system (supposedly there is a patch that you can use to update the MyGig software that may or may not work).
I spoke with an apple tech support person and he couldn't help. They didn't have anything in his help files to fix the problem and he actually turned to the message boards to get more info.
That being said, like someone else said, take the time to fill out some feed back.

If you look at the rest of the bluetooth forum...there are tons of blue tooth issues out there. Might speculate that the only way to make the chrysler issue a priority is to make yourself heard. I personally don't know if there is a better method than the above feedback tool. But, if there is, I'd like to know.
If you are 2006 and earlier...according to others on here, you should be able to get it to work.

  • Bluetooth continuing to search for devices

I have a new Jawbone headset which has paired fine with my iPhone 3G. However, the "Devices" status is continuing to spin in search of other bluetooth devices and won't stop. I'm concerned this will kill my battery. My assumption was that after pairing with the headset, it would stop searching.
Any ideas on how to get it to stop searching for devices?
    Thanks.

It searches for discoverable devices +while you are in Settings > General > Bluetooth+, and for a brief period of time after that. It does not continue after that and will not drain your battery. Of course, if you go to Settings > General > Bluetooth to check, it will start searching - sort of like checking to see if the fridge light is off by opening the door.

  • I have iphone 6 with ios 8.1.1. The bluetooth pairs with my sony car radio and everything works fine. However, the iphone won't stop searching for other devices.

I have an iPhone 6 with ios 8.1.1 operating system. The Bluetooth pairs with my Sony car radio and works fine. However, the iPhone will not stop searching for other devices. This does not seem to affect anything, but I can't help but think it is using battery power.

    One possibility:
How do you know it is searching for other devices?  Because you opened Settings > Bluetooth?
Why is it searching for other devices? Because you opened Settings > Bluetooth?

Then make sure the device you're trying to pair with is supported and is in pairing (discoverable) mode.
What exactly are you trying to pair with?

  • Bluetoothe keeps searching for new devices

    Hi everyone,
I have a BT connected problem with my Iphone 4S. In contrast to many here, I can connect with my headset (Jawbone) fine and my phone sees pretty much anything. However, once I activate BT, it will keep searching for new devices all the time and this eats the batter up pretty fast (by mid-day it is 50% gone, without my doing much, except for a few calls using my headset). Does anybody know how can BT stopped from looking for new devices unless directed to do so?
    Many thanks and best regards,
    Ed Moses

  • How to search for BT device automatically every x seconds?

I have a Trust BT-2100p which came with the Toshiba Bluetooth software.
I can connect my Bluetooth remote control to my HTPC, but when I disconnect and want to reconnect again, I have to right click on the device, press "connect" and then "OK" in the popup window before it starts searching.
The whole point with the remote is that I don't need a keyboard or a mouse.
I can make a simple .bat-file that starts the connection automatically every x seconds, but it can't press the "OK" button.
Is there a way to make it search for the device automatically every x seconds?

HID devices are automatically connected as soon as a button was pressed on it. I checked the internet regarding your WII devices. The problem in your case is that this devices supports a none standard function which must be configured first in oder to reconnect by HID automatically. So this has to be done by the software which you mentioned. It has to configure the controller which should be used. This device support 4 of it.

  • Bluetooth did not detect any Bluetooth device even iPhone  please help me

Device even iPhone so I can not transfer any data to other iPhone
    Please help me

    That is correct.
This has  never been a feature of iphone.
    Sorry.
Bluetooth is supported for stereo headsets/speakers, telephone headsets/handsfree devices, some keyboards, some peer-to-peer apps from the apps store, tethering where provided by the carrier.
Other than these, it will not connect to another phone/device/computer/etc.

Photo albums are not searched by Spotlight Search.  Go to Settings > General > Spotlight Search to see and reorder the available search items.

  • I just upgraded my iPhone 3GS to 4.3.5 and my universal doc stopped working with it?  It has worked flawlessly for the last year and suddenly I get the message: "this iphone is not optimized for this device."  The music comes out too quiet to the speakers

I just upgraded my iPhone 3GS to 4.3.5 and my universal doc stopped working with it?  It has worked flawlessly for the last year and suddenly I get the message: "this iphone is not optimized for this device."  I dismiss the message, but the remote no longer works with it and the music is too quite to the speakers.  The remote works fine with my Macbook Pro.  I tried a restore on the iPhone and started from scrach, but the same problem exists.
    Any help with this?
