My iphone4 and my iPad mini won't connect via blue tooth just continues to search

What are you trying to do?
The Bluetooth is meant for earplug, headset, keyboard, car hands-free set, and speakers.
You need a 3rd party app to do BT file transfer or other functions between iDevices.

  • Ipad mini won't connect to WiFi

Recently, my daughter misplaced her iPad mini.  After a long search, we found it at home unharmed. However, I think I might have changed a setting through our shared Apple ID when it was missing but I can't figure out what or how.  The iPad mini will not connect to our WiFi now, not even if I use my phone as a Hotspot. Help!
    Thank you!

    Hello hokieflag92,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with Wi-Fi. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    Resolution
Occasionally while using your iOS device, you may notice unexpected Wi-Fi behavior:
Difficulty locating or connecting to a network
Unexpected Wi-Fi signal strength or disconnects
    Inability to access the Internet
Not automatically connecting to Wi-Fi when expected
Follow these steps to troubleshoot the above issues:
Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for assistance.
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
    Tap  and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
If the issue is still unresolved
Follow the steps below for the issue you're experiencing.

  • TA24778 iPad - dropouts when streaming music via blue tooth to sound devices (Boom Box etc.).

    Hello,
I use my iPad as a central music store.
But -when trying to stream music via Blue Tooth I get dropouts all the time.
It doesn't matter how far away I am, or where I'm using it. It gets a bit better when deactivating the BT Keyboard (yes, shame on me, I'm using the old style way to hack text into the Pad...), but I still get dropouts.
I checked everything, batteries are fully loaded, dis- and reconnect several times, reboot, etc.
On my devices (Logitech adapter for my home-hi-fi, Soundbric) I get the same result.
    Any Ideas?
(Sorry - I can only choose "Using iPhone" as category, although I chose iPad first... Do I need to understand this?)

I'm not sure what you mean by "mixed with audio in Alsamixer". Can you clarify?
With that said, my problem did mysteriously fix itself after some update (presumably to alsa). Unfortunately, I noticed it in passing one day while I was changing the volume of something in pavucontrol, so I don't remember the exact update that caused it to work. But yes, my current setup does work now: I can listen to audio through my DAC and use the Yeti for recording. However, I have found that use of the Yeti crashes Google Hangouts, although it works perfectly in every other program I've tried.
As documentation, here is my current working setup (it is very similar to the above): in PulseAudio, the DAC is set to be a Digital Stereo (IEC958) output. The Yeti (called an 'Integrated Rate Matching Hub' in pavucontrol) is set to be an Analog Stereo Input. In the input devices section, I have the Yeti's volume set to around 58% (-14.31 dB), which is past the base volume a fair ways but produces decent levels for recording. The DAC's volume is set to 100% (0dB gain, the DAC takes care of the level). In alsamixer, I have the mic level for the Yeti set to 40.
Edit: This is a long-time-later edit, but let me say that when you have multiple USB audio devices, what USB hub and in what order they are connected seems to matter a great deal. If you can't get your Blue Yeti to work, try moving it to a different set of USB ports (controlled by a different controller) on your motherboard. This magically fixes the issue for me.

  • I upgraded to Fiber Optic today and now my ipad mini won't connect to the internet although it shows a signal

As the title says, we changed to fiber optics today (yay! so speedy) and all our devices (Macbooks, iphones) connect just fine.  My ipad mini (about 1 year old) won't connect although it finds the network on the airport effertlessly and shows full signal bars as if it is connected.  For all intents and purposes it looks like it is connected, but it isn't.  I have done all the usual - turned on and off (router and device), forgotten network, renewed network lease, reset network settings, reset all settings, etc. Everthing! Still not working. Help please!!!!!!

    Hello Tom,
So this is the Airport Forum.  Hence when you were discussing your "Airport", one assumes you are referring to the Airport Extreme or Airport Express  (ie - http://www.apple.com/airport-extreme/ or http://www.apple.com/airport-express/).  It is slightly confusing when Apple refers to the Airport being the wireless in devices as well as their wireless routers.
It would help us if you told us what type of connection, for instance I live in the UK and have Fibre Optic (to cabinet) and have a cable modem from Virgin Media, which I have then connected (via ethernet) an Apple Airport Extreme (6th Gen) to distribute the internet connection and my local LAN.
Maybe you had ADSL prior and are now on Fibre via cable?

  • TS1398 New IPad mini won't connect to wifi but other technical divices can, HELP!!

I just bought a new ipad mini and tried to connect it to BT business hub but I waited more than I need to so I turned it off and restared again and i tried 3 times and tried all the ways to connect to wifi on the internet but it still wouldn't connect I need help T-T

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at
    http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • Ipad mini won't connect to cellular data - fully

Got ipad mini for Xmas.  Finally got round to getting EE SIM.  Shows as being active with signal, but cannot connect to internet.  Took SIM back to Carphone Warehouse (where SIM came from) and they thought it was the APN settings but checked and it wasn't.  They then put the Sim into a phone and it worked fine.
They suggested that the ipad was blocked which happens when it's been stolen.  It hasn't.  I have my husbands receipt.
Have subsequently tried everything listed in these discussion pages and on Apple help pages including reset, on and off etc but it still isn't working.  Have rung John Lewis (where ipad was purchased) and they have said to take it in to them.  Thought I'd try here first as they indicated that it may have to be sent away.
Have ipad 2 with EE SIM working fine, but too much demand in our house for ipad to be without my new one!
    Please help.

Thanks.  Have tried switching to 3G already.  Think I have turned on and off just about everything I can.
Have also tried to get cellular to work in a number of different areas (not just at home) including the shop where they got SIM to work in a HTc phone.  I don't have an adapter but since the SIM worked ok in another appliance, I'm assuming that it's not worth me trying that?
When you put the SIM in, it's meant to automatically go to registration page for EE. I don't recall it doing that which is odd but it does come up as 'EE' with a good signal in the top left of ipad.
Any other ideas gratefully received before I make trip to John Lewis.
Many thanks for your suggestions so far.

  • IPad mini won't connect to wifi, but does connect to iPhone hotspot.

I have a 1st gen iPad mini. It suddenly didn't connect to any of my known networks (House, work, parents). It does see the wifi signal but does not connect. I did a reset to all network settings, and it only connects to my iPhone hotspot but when I try to put the password for all the other wifi networks it gives me a message that the password is incorrect, which I'm sure is not right because I tried it on the other devices. I made a full restore to factory settings so it's runing iOS 8.1, it is like new, but still the same problem.

Hi Maybe it's a hardware problem or a modem problem. I think you need to take to Apple Store they may exchange but you will have to pay part of the cost if over 1 year old. Cheers Brian

  • Ipad mini won't connect to the internet

Once again, my ipad mini doesn't want to conect to my home network. Everything else connects fine and works great EXCEPT my ipad mini. I've followed all suggestions already on the forum, and none of them work.

  • My iPad mini won't connect to my Macbook Pro through AirPLay (Using Reflector to mirror)

I use the Reflector program on my Macbook to mirror my iPad mini onto my Macbook Pro in order to demo a mobile application
I am connected to the same wifi on both my Macbook (2014, Yosemite) and iPad mini (2014 iOS8, 16GB, wifi only)
I select AirPlay, select my Macbook Pro, turn mirroring ON
It tries to connect (shows blue check mark) and then about 5 seconds later the checkmark disappears, failing to connect
Sometimes AirPlay option does not even appear
I've restarted both my computer and iPad mini multiple times
    Any ideas?

    CContact the developers of reflector.
It is not an Apple product and not supported by Apple.

  • My ipad mini won't connect to my computer anymore.

my ipad mini wont connet to my computer anymore, i plug it in i see the battery for a second then it says not charging and it will not connect with itunes. it has worked fine up until now.

If you are running a Mac, the repair for your iOS device not being seen by iTunes could be very simple : repair your permissions. Create a bootable USB keychain drive with the latest version of OSX on it. Boot from it. Use Disk Utility to repair the permissions.
NOTE : Please remember to continue running permissions repair until it returns zero fixes. This fix also assumes you have diligently updated your Mac to the very latest OS and other software available from Apple.
Then just boot from your internal drive as normal, and see if it works. I don't know if this will work for you, but it is another possibility to try, and worked for a Mac Pro tower (running 10.8.5 and the latest version of iTunes 11.1.x).

  • Brand new iPad mini won't connect to FaceTime

My brand new iPad mini just stays on connecting when I try to call anyone. Any ideas?

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5419
Read this. As of april 16 any device that uses facetime must be updated to a certain level. So it may be as simple as you or the person you're calling needing to update your device to iOS 7.1.1

  • TS1398 I have connected my iPad 2 to my Mac Air over blue tooth.  Booth say they are connected to each other.  But I can not access the internet on the IPAD.  I can connect over blue tooth from my iPhone to my iPad with no issue.  Any thoughts?  Thank you

I am trying to connect my Ipad 2 to my Mac Air over bluetooth.
I can connect them to each other, and both machines say they are connected over bluetooth.
However I can not access the internet on the Ipad...says it is not connected to the internet.
Does anyone know if you can fix this?
    THank you

Yes I tried this manyfold. But did not work.  Reading on, I took Tesserac's advice. Shut down router and computer.
Start router after 15 minutes and wait another 10 minutes before starting the computer.
Et voila.... everything is back in working order,
    Regards form Curacao, Dutch Caribean.

I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue on your Mac (and about your stolen iPhone). I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact issue you are describing. If you are talking about issues setting up the iCloud Keychain on your Mac due to issues receiving the SMS verification code, you may find the information and steps outlined in the following article helpful, up to and including contacting Apple Support directly if necessary:
