HT204387 Will iOS 7 support RSAP Bluetooth protocol?

Will the iOS 7 update enable the RSAP Bluetooth protocol? So far have been unable to pair phone with my 2009 VW Tiguan handsfree kit.....

I've got the VW Premium Bluetooth package and it doesn't pair with the iPhone.
Yes, it does.
Not all! Older Premium BT packages ONLY feature Access using BT SAP, which the iOS does not feature. Later VW added BT Hands Free which iOS does feature, so this explains why several user can connect and others can't…

It requires the rSAP protocol to connect. This has been verified by Volkswagen.
That is not correct.
As mentioned above: it depends on the model. Maybe a firmware update might fix it. So, go ask ask your dealer or check some good boards on the net, there are tutorials on about everything…

  • Will IOS 6 support viewing Exchange calendar attachments?

    Good day,
I use an iPhone in the workplace, and my calendar appointments always have attachments.  I can not view these attachments in IOS, yet on my old Android phone, I was able too.  I switched to the iPhone for the stability, however this is becoming a growing problem as more employees are getting iPhones and running across the same issue.
My question is quite simple, will IOS 6 support viewing Exchange calendar attachments?
    Thank you.

Our company is making the move from the BB to the iPhone. We've had iPad (3 series) issued to us for a little while now and that's been the biggest and really the only complaint. All of our schedule sheets for our Field Service Engineers are sent via attatchments. We can't see where we're going if we accept the appointment.
Is there a way to make this work? The Samsung's don't allow this either.

  • Will iOS 5 support more than 11 home screen pages ?? Because folders made my phone slower

Will iOS 5 support more than 11 home screen pages ??
Hope to see that in the new iOS

As we're all users like you, we have no more way of knowing the features than you.  All we know is what's been released thus far on Apple's website.

Will iOS 7 support iPod Touch 4G?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
iOS 7 supports iPhone 4 or newer, iPad 2 or newer and the 5th generation iPod touch. The 4th generation iPod touch has got 256 MB of RAM, which make it unable to run iOS 7.

  • Will ios 6 support iphone 3gs?

will the new ios 6 support the iphone 3gs this autumn?

    Thanks a lot!
Also just found this at the bottom of the IOS 6 page:
"Siri is available in Beta only on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad (3rd generation), and iPod touch (5th generation) and requires Internet access. Siri may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area. Cellular data charges may apply."
If only Apple would find a way to make it possible to make phone calls from the iPad!
(I would´nt need the phone then!).
But anyway, the way things are going, who knows what the future will bring?!

  • Does iOS 5 support the Bluetooth Message Access Profile (MAP) for interacting with text messages in Ford Sync?

I'd sure love to take advantage of Ford Sync's ability to read aloud and let me interact with bluetooth text messages by voice.  I had heard rumours that iOS 5 was going to support the Bluetooth Message Access Profile (MAP) like other phone manufacturers, but in my latest update I received while testing and reading other non-Apple sites, that appears not to be the case.
Is this something I'd have to upgrade to the iPhone 4S to otherwise get?
It's not Siri I'm interested in, just this particular feature to allow the phone to interact with my vehicle.  If there's a 3rd party app out there that helps I'm open to that idea too.  Thinking about what my next smart phone's going to be with LTE, and this is weighing in on my decision, lots of enterprise users out there with Ford as their company fleet vehicle too (hint hint!).  A nice way to save lives too for those who refuse to not read/reply to texts while driving (I'm not in that club, but many are).
    Kind Regards,
    Brian

For the public record, here's the feedback I submitted based on Allan's suggestion.  Thank you both, guess I'll just cross my fingers and hope others share their feedback in a positive way to Apple too.
I'd sure love to take advantage of Ford Sync's ability to read aloud and let me interact with bluetooth text messages by voice.  However it requires phones to support the Bluetooth Message Access Profile (MAP) like Android and other phone manufacturers.
Humbly requesting this is something that gets added to a future iOS update.
It's not Siri I'm interested in, just this particular feature to allow the phone to interact with my vehicle by using the vehicles embedded voice and heads-up display commands.
    Advantages:
    (1) Gives one less reason for Apple people to stray to Google
    (2) Saves lives too for those who refuse to not read/reply to texts while driving
    (3) Keeps drivers behaving legally (outside of common sense, many provinces and states have enacted laws to try and protect people against themselves)
    (4) A critical enterprise feature if Apple is attempting to continue to break into that market, most fortune 500 companies that have employees using fleet vehicles use Ford, but frankly other manufacturers coming to market with these features too.
Thanks for consideration around this feature.  If you'd like to understand the use-case more or be pointed to threads in the discussion forum and 3rd party websites begging for this feature, happy to discuss.
    Kind Regards,
    Brian R. Kneebone

  • Will iOS ever support more than one window simultaneously on the iPad?  Need for real business work...

I would like to have more than 1 window (2 is better than 1 but more could be helpful) to for example be reading a document and using another to take notes or to copy/paste between them.  This is a key barrier to me using the iPad more than my MacBook.

There are apps that provide two are more viewing "windows".

  • Look for official APPLE statement on future rSAP Bluetooth profile support

    Hi,
My previous post was considered as "speculative" by the moderators (I still do not see what were the speculations but, OK, I let go)...
Therefore, I'll try to be still more factual:
_Fact 1_: current firmware of iPhone 3G does not support rSAP Bluetooth profile.
_Fact 2_: my car needs my phone to support rSAP Bluetooth profile for being able to use the built-in handsfree kit.
_Fact 3_: I cannot find anywhere an official statement from APPLE about this rSAP Bluetooth profile.
_My question_: can someone give me a link to such an official statement?
(I hope this will be considered as factual enough...

Hello. I know this is not exactly what you are looking for. But the link below is a document that informs you about current BT Profile that is used.
If you would like Apple to know about other BT Profiles needed to work with your car. Feel free to contact Apple via the feedback page below.

  • Does the GSM version of the Pre support the bluetooth rSAP profile?

    Hi All,
Prospective Pre owner in the UK here.
I've got a VW that has the latest premium bluetooth car kit. This means rSAP connections only. Sadly, this rules out a host of phones, as they don't support rSAP (iPhone being the main one I can think of).
Can anyone tell me if the GSM release of the Pre will support rSAP?
Failing that, does either the Sprint or Bell versions support rSAP?
I've seen this question posted here before, but there was no answer, hence my repeat request.
    Thanks for your time.

Thanks for getting back to me.
I've managed to speak with someone at Palm in the UK and can confirm that the GSM version of the Pre does not support rSAP either.
It's a shame, as it means I won't be getting one. More to the point, my company very likely won't consider it either. Too many of our fleet vehicles have rSAP only car kits, so we must have phones that work with them. Looks like my choices are either Nokia, Blackberry or ugh.... Windows Mobile.
If anyone from Palm is listening, please implement this profile in a future update. Loads of VW, Audi and Skoda drivers will be very grateful.
    Andy.
I also second that. To give an update here from Germany, rSAP seems to be the future for hands-free equipment in cars. Last year when I bought a new car (Skoda in my case, same equipment like Volkswagen) I talked with a really experiencend car dealer about that topic. He stated that the vast majority of his customers are not willing to buy special phone adopters any longer for the simple reason that they normally having their cars longer than a particular phone.
Since then I use my old Nokia withrSAP and it just works. Even better more and more rental cars have rSAP included now. Last week I had a nice Mercedes Benz from Sixt and it saved the day to organize things on the phone during a five hour ride.
Oh, and not to forget my uncle who came around with a brand new Nissan Murano some day and ask me to figure out how to run his phone with it. Taht car had rSAP either.

  • When will WebGL be supported on iOS Mobile Safari?

In our enterpirse we have developed a WebGL application using Three.js framework. Now, our customer wants it to run on Apple iPad. The problem is that we have found out that WebGL is only supported on iOS by using iAd. So we are wondering when will WebGL be supported on iOS mobile Safari to decide what to do.
    Thanks!

Dunno, it's a bit off topic, but there's no way that an emulated ARM build of flash would even run at all on iOS at the current point, let alone 7 years ago.
It's not that you can't build good flash, it's just that people don't. As you've said, you can use a dumbed down, non-extensible Adobe GUI to spit out javascript, and it'll tank just the same. Adobe Photoshop used to be the most blazingly fast application on the Mac. Adobe are a different story these days. Flash is a resource hog, whereas javascript is outright inefficient at moving graphics around, although it is improving substantially.
Flex, on the other hand, is open source.
Flash was actually created by Adobe. Adobe owned the vector graphics bezier patents, so Macromedia couldn't build a GUI editor for their Shockwave platform, which was sort of C++ territory, for making CD ROMS. Not used a lot because of the manual type of input required.
Macromedia bought flash as a cheapo animation program with some strange usability ideas (such as applying boolean intersects to overlapping objects without asking you), but combining this legally-released and patent-free GUI editor with shockwave export capabilities made shockwave accessible to non-technical users. Who would pile on loads of effects, run it natively as an app to test, and then deploy it in a web plugin which runs far less efficiently. That's not exactly Flash's fault, but the fact that they've just ported it wholesale a whole bunch of times without a proper human rewrite makes for evil performance, a problem you don't have with javascript. You don't have to get what Adobe want to give you as a binary, like it or lump it.
iOS ***** in many ways, the fact that you have to reverse engineer everything and crack if you want to get even the most basic level of customisability and extensibility that you would expect on any decent computer is genuinely frightening. That device could also be up to absolutely anything behind your back, and you'd be none the wiser staring at the GUI. Just trust apple. Or ask somebody who has been prodding around in there with a sharp screwdriver.
Neither Adobe nor Apple have an entirely ideal character for the relationship to have worked. Adobe own a shedload of patents when it comes to the maths behind image processing technology. Adobe Postscript is built into OSX, comes from NeXT. Mr Jobs lost his rag with Adobe when Adobe forced Apple programmers to work on the code related to PostScript in some sort of high security bunker, and wouldn't let them take away anything but binaries. This made the development work a massive hassle. The Apple programmers also suggested that a lot of the code was hidden out of shame rather than out of protectionism. Adobe's real strength is legalised monopolies on basic image processing technology, they've owned it since they turned over Paintbox's patents on alpha blending of pixels.
Been using Apple & Adobe products as my day to day workhorse stuff for over 20 years. Adobe used to be just as bad as the other software firms for generally mean behaviour, but they did write hand-optimised C++, and every year they'd raise the bar with features that you actually need. Each new version would save you weeks in a month.
Post-internet, whole different ballgame. Different setup, $bns at stake now. Land grab for the new ultra-consumerised computer technology. The good thing about consumers is that you can subject them to abuse, they get a yea or nay decision. Do you want what we're giving you?
These sorts of computer industry companies used to be toolmakers for the graphics industry.
Now they're supplying the communications technology for everything. Consumables plugged into every industry in the world. That sort of power is a corrupting influence.

  • When will Adobe Reader support interactive PDF elements on iOS?

When will Adobe Reader support interactive PDF elements on iOS? I don't want to hear the line that Apple won't allow Flash. Adobe needs to get a workaround PRONTO! We need detection of simple buttons and support for Mp4 and f4v - as exported inline by inDesign when creating PDFs.

Pat Willener, Thank you for your message. I have done what you suggest. I could have sworn I started this topic in the general Adobe Reader discussion. So I have also placed a copy back where I thought I first had it so it can be found by other Windows users who, like me, are creating PDF files because they are meant to comply with an international cross-platform standard and not simply be the domain of one platform over the other.
    *******Enhancement / FMR*********
Brief title for your desired feature: Support for interactive PDFs
How would you like the feature to work? When I add a transparent frame containing a  basic Adobe Media encoded mp4 or f4v video, export to interactive PDF from Adobe InDesign, I want the PDF and its interactive videos to work on iPads. See an example file here: ***EXAMPLE PROVIDED***  Click the lefthand top and bottom corners to bring up interactive video elements which should open in floating window, maximized, then have an exit button to close and continue reading the PDF. Of course, this does not function under Adobe Reader for iOS. You also need to attend to audio files embedded in the same way and allow an exit button to close the audio window so the reader can continue reading the PDF on Windows.
Why is this feature important to you? I create eReaders for schools across the whole country and they are taking up iPads at an unprecedented rate. If Adobe do not produce a solution for interactive PDFs on iOS then I will no longer use InDesign, Acrobat, Adobe Media Encoder or Photoshop to create works in the future. You're looking at a massive education market that will leave Adobe behind if this is not acted upon very very soon. For some publishers it's already too late and they have moved to app based creation tools.
