HT2688 How can I "click and drag" songs from one shared library to another?

I have home sharing activated on my mom's computer and mine and before the newest version of itunes, we were able to click and drag songs from one users' library into the other. We are not able to do that now and I wanted to know if there was a way to do this in the newest version of itunes.

I am using a Windows computer first off, not sure if that makes a difference, When you say "click import" where is import. I can not find anything that says "import" to click.

iTunes has two kinds of sharing.
Regular sharing allows listening, but does not allow copying. It can be used with anybody on the same network.

The procedure you describe is putting content from two different IDs into a single library, which can readily be done.
However, each item of purchased content will still be tied to the ID from which it was originally purchased, and they will be treated separately for purposes of Cloud, Match, Purchase History, etc.

Place the iPod in disk mode, drag songs from one computer to it's icon in the My Computer window, and on the other machine, drag the songs to the hard disk and then into the iTunes library.

The short answer is that you can't. Purchases are tied to the AppleID used to buy them. AppleID's cannot be merged, and the content cannot be transferred.

I think that the fastest way is:
- connect the 2 iBooks using the Airport Extreme Card or the Ethernet
- open finder then select network and select the remote computer
- open iTunes, select your tracks and then drag them into the shared folder... that's it! You have just transfered your music to the other iBook and now you can create your playlist using iTunes.

You can't currently transfer an account's balance from one account to another, nor can you use it to gift content. You shoudl be able to use your old account on your new phone, it's generally best just to have the one iTunes account

My work computer has 3 address books - 1 personal address book, 2 collected address book, 3 work related address book.
After a couple of years I would like to tidy up my address books & cut & paste some of them from here to there. However there seems to be no cut & paste or copy & paste feature that I can locate anywhere????

Cut and paste a whole contacts information has never available because it entails different components. Cut/Copy and paste has always been available if you are only selecting one part of the information, but this means you have to open a specific contacts Properties.

In the left Directory Pane, select the address book containing the contact you want to move. You should see a list of contacts in the right Contact Pane.
Drag & Drop process:
* Left click and hold down on a contact in the list to grab, then drag that contact to the left and hover over the address book where you want to put the contact. Then release the mouse button to drop into that address book.
You can move more than one contact.
* Hold down 'Ctrl' key and use mouse to select and highlight various contacts.

After changing things round a little, I have now created an itunes account for our company and want to transfer the current live feeds from the other guys account to my new account but I have no idea how to do this. It's not currently possible to transfer an account's balance from one account to another account, nor to use it to gift items to another account. Also any content that was bought/downloaded via your account will remain tied to your account, so your account will need to be authorised on the computer that he will be syncing to, and only your account will be able to re-download that content and/or download updates to those apps.

I am collaborating on a music project with someone who lives far away. We both have Ipads, same model, both have Garageband. He emailed me a copy of a song, but there does not seem to be a way to easily import it to my garageband so I can add tracks to it. Is it possible? You can transfer it to a Mac with iTunes or iCloud. When two devices are using the same AppleID you can transfer with iCloud between iPads, iPhones, etc.Only iCloud is not feasable, since you would not want to use the same AppleID.

You can't without a third party app. If you didn't purchase the Music with your Apple ID or if the music was imported from CD's on your friends iTunes library, syncing will not work ....nor will transferring purchases.
