HT2731 . I have maanaged to change my apple ID to my new email address but I know that billing info related to my old job is still there but I can't find where/how I can change his? Help please!

I have recently changed jobs but kept my iPad. I have managed to change my apple ID to my new (personal) email address which is fine but I know I have previously bought stuff from the App Store so need to also be changing my billing/account details but I cannot find where/how to do this. Can someone help pleas?

If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad.

I changed my Apple ID to my new email and now cannot find any way to access icloud. Unfortunately I had allowed icloud to hijack my airbook files, so of course I am afraid I will lose them tomorrow when I exchange my iphone for a new one and cannot keep an icloud account i cannot access. What a poor sync system! Really atypical for apple!

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. It doesn't sound like you "changed" your Apple ID, sounds like you created a new one. Bad idea. All content bought with an Apple ID is forever tied to that ID. The ID that bought the content is the only ID that can update the content. Apple does not merge IDs not does Apple transfer content from one ID to another.

  • I have been trying to change my apple id to my new email address and it says the id egsists what do i do

i have been trying to change my apple id to my new email address and it says i cant as the id is in use what do i do

If your new email address is an Apple-related email account (e.g., Mobileme account), you will get the 'email is already in use' message.  If this is the case, you cannot consolidate your old Apple ID with your new one.  I (and many others) have ran into this same issue.
If this is indeed the cause of your problem, I recommend that you start using your new Apple ID exclusively.  If you made a considerable number of purchases under your old Apple ID (i.e., through iTunes), you will still  have to log in under your old ID for that account.
Hopefully, one day Apple will allow us to consolidate accounts.
    I hope this helps.

  • I am trying to update my apps on my iPhone.  I recently change my apple ID to a new email address.  When I go to update the pop us is asking for the password for my old email address.

I recently changed my apple ID to my new email address.  On my iPhone 4 I am trying to update apps and it asks me for my apple ID password for my old email address.  How do I change to my new email address?

Did you change the Apple ID primary email to another email address or did you create a whole new Apple ID?
Go to settings>itunes & app store and if it shows your old apple id at the top then tap on it then sign out and then sign in with your new apple id email.

  • This morning I changed my Apple ID to my new email address.  I thought it meant that I could then use all my alias icloud email addresses with my new Apple ID because it would be the same account.  Why am I now not getting email to those addresses.

This morning I changed my Apple ID to my new email address.  I thought it meant that I could continue to use all my alias icloud email addresses with my new Apple ID because it would be the same account.  Since then I have not received and new emails to my iCloud email addresses.  Normally I get at least  7 new emails a day, so I'm pretty sure my iCloud addresses are not working.  It would be a lot of work for me to notify a lot of people, companies, and organizations about new email addresses, so I really would like to make them work.  Will it be possible to make them work with my new Apple ID?

Roger, I didn't know that "Delete Account" was synonymous with "log out".  Yes, I had deleted my iCloud account in my iPad email settings more than once yesterday and again one more time after I read your reply.  I then followed the instructions below to log off on my Windows PC.  I found these when I searched for how to log off of iCould:
    1- Go to www.iCloud.com
2- Sign in with your current login info
3- Click on your user name on top right corner
    4- Select account setting
    5- Select "Advanced."
6- Click 2nd option, "Sign Out Of All Browsers."
I also scanned settings for all the other apps on my iPad and changed a couple that still had my old sbcglobal email address. Later, I noticed that I was able to see my old previous iCloud emails in iCloud.com, and the couple of messages that I received from this Support Community site, but still no new emails.  Suddenly the emails started rolling in again this morning.  I have 7 new ones at the moment.  I sort of expected to get a backlog of emails from yesterday, but something tells me those were all lost as "undeliverable".  I don't know who or exactly what did the trick, but the issue seems to be fixed.  I'm using my new Apple ID, and I'm glad I don't have to get all new iCloud alias email addresses after all.

  • I changed my Apple ID to a new email address. I cannot get my Iphone and Ipad to recognize the new Apple ID.

I changed my Apple ID to a new email address.  Now I cannot get my Iphone and Ipad to recognize the new Apple ID ... and I cannot access the old Apple ID because it does not recognize its password any more ... and I cannot change the password ... and there seems to be no one to ask about this.  Any help?

I tried but it won't let me even access the old Apple ID.  It won't recoginze its old password and will not let me make a new one. (The site tells me it has sent an email to let me change the password but the email does not come.)

  • HT204053 I changed my apple ID to my new email address how to I change my apple ID for the cloud to a 3 rd email address?

I have a 4 year old macbook and a new ipad mini. I share the same apple ID with my daughter who has an iphone 4. Recently I changed the apple id last week to my new email address. The cloud has my old apple ID ( email address), how can I change that  cloud ID to a 3rd email address? I do not want to share that cloud ID with my dughter, I want us to have our own IDs.

First save any photo stream photos that you want to keep on your device by opening the photo stream album, tapping Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.  If you are syncing Notes with iCloud, email them to yourself as you will have to recreate these after changing accounts.  Finally, if you are syncing any iWork documents with iCloud go to the settings for these apps and turn iCloud sycing to Off.
Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Keep on My iPad when prompted.  (This will only delete the account from your device, not from iCloud.  If your daughter is keeping the existing account her devices will not be effected by this.)  Then sign back in with your new ID to create a new iCloud account, turn on your iCloud data syncing, choose Merge when prompted to upload the data to the new account.  Then recreate any Notes from the emails sent earlier and turn on iCloud syncing with iWork again, if appropriate.
existing iCloud old email address with the old account.  If you still want to access it on your iPad, you'll have to go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud and sign in with the old account ID.  This email will be fetch only, not push.
Once your iPad has migrated to the new account, if you also want to move your Mac to this account go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, then sign in with the new ID.

  • How can you change your Apple ID to a new email address?

My old email was deleted and I used this as my Apple ID. I now have a new one and can't change my Apple ID on my phone and iPad, (Under 'icloud' in settings). However I have been able to change it in iTunes & App Store.
I also tried deleting the account and re doing it in my new one but it asks for the password due to find iPhone being on, and it won't do it. (I remember my old password)
    Please help!
It's very frustrating and keeps wanting me to sign in.
    Thanks

    1) Did you change that old email address to your current email address to be your current Apple ID?  If so, try to enter your current password for your current Apple ID/iCloud account.  If it doesn't work, try #2.
    2) If you don't have access to your old email account.  Same process, go to https://appleid.apple.com and sign in your current iCloud/Apple ID then edit it to your old email address then Save the changes.  DON'T sign out yet.  Go back to your iOS device then delete your iCloud account.  Once deleted, go back to the Apple ID website and rename it back to your current email address.  You have to verify it this time and you will be able to since you have access to that email address.
    3) If your answer to #1 is NO, contact Apple Support (Account Security Team) to help you reset its password but you need to have another email address available which is not yet an Apple ID to send the password reset email.
    Hope this helps!  Cheers!

  • I just changed my Apple ID to a new Email address, and now I can't login to the app store on my iPhone or iPad because the Prompt assumes my old ID. How do I modify it on my devices, or force it to prompt me for the new ID?

I changed my Apple ID today, and now I can't log into the App store because my devices just prompt for my password, and I am not offered the opportunity to enter the new ID. HELP !

Setting>Store>Apple ID. Tap you old ID and sign out. Sign in with the new one.

  • I changed my Apple ID to a new email address. How do I authorize older purchases that were made with my old Apple ID?

I'm trying to get Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan to play in iTunes but it keeps prompting me to authorize by asking for my Apple ID & Password. It defaults to my old ID which is a Yahoo email address that I deleted. I replace that ID with my Gmail ID and it says that I'm authorized to play the movie but it still won't play after I select PLAY. If I select Pause and Play again, the Apple ID prompt cycle begins again.
I'd delete this movie but I'm afraid that I will be charged again for redownloading it since there are now 4 versions of this film; Original, Director's Cut and their SD & HD versions.
Is there a solution that will allow me to play this film? One other thing, this plays in my Apple TV (latest model) but has no sound.
    I'm confused.

I tried but it won't let me even access the old Apple ID.  It won't recoginze its old password and will not let me make a new one. (The site tells me it has sent an email to let me change the password but the email does not come.)

  • I changed my Apple ID to a new email address and I've forgotten old password

I changed the email associated with my Apple ID.  My Apple ID is the same as my email address, so this changed my Apple ID too.  I have forgotten the password for the old email address, which is als my old Apple ID.  Now I want to change my email accounts on my phone and pad, but I cannot delete the old account or edit it.  What do I do?

What happens when you try to log out of your account on your iPad and iPhone ? For the stores you should be able to log out just by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (or Settings > Stores depending upon the iOS version), and you can then log back in with the updated version of the account.
For the cloud Settings > iCloud > Sign Out (or Delete Account).
If you are asked for the password for the old account when logging out of iCloud : If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
