My iPod Touch 5 Will Not Turn On... At All.

My iPod touch 5 will not turn on.
It's not that it's dead, nor that I turned it off.
I left it on, wrapped my earbuds around it, plunged it into my backpack and headed out... In the rain.
I had an otterbox case on it too.
I come home, leave it to chill out before using it for about 20 minutes because it's also very cold outside. (15-20 degrees fahrenheit)
After 20 minutes pass, I need it for something. I try to turn it on, and nothing pops up.
No apple logo.
No empty battery photo.
Nothing.
I tried plugging it in in a variety of different wall plugs and computers.
Nothing.
iTunes doesn't open, iPhoto doesn't, nothing.
I don't want to reset it completely because I would lose over 1,000 photographs and memories.
I don't even know HOW I would go about resetting it considering it's not working.
So much for a "protective" case.
It was in a backpack, an otterbox case, and I was outside for about 2 minutes in the rain. I'm not sure what to do.

The above my erase the iPod. If you do not have a backup contacting a data recovery company may be in order. Not cheap.

My ipod touch 4g will not turn on. when I try to turn it on, I get the itunes logo and the usb cable with an arrow pointing up to the itunes lable. I dont know how to fix it. My computer is equipped with itunes and I tried using my computer to fix this problem but it didnt work.

Restore. Note that it could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

My iPod Touch 4G will not power on. I have attempted to charge it for several hours but still wont turn on. I tried charging it through a wall outlet as well as plugging into computer and going into iTunes. But still wont turn on. Does anyone have any suggestions other than taking it into the Apple store? hello i am having issues and it is quite annoying i just want to you use my ipod again. ok so one day when i went to use it it wouldnt turn on actually it wouldnt do anything i tried everything it wouldnt connect to the computer or even show up it wouldnt charge i mean nothin. so then the other day i figued hey ill try plugging it in again and it started up and the screen was white no apple logo just a white screen then i connected to the computer ahah soo i restored it to factory settings well then it still was a white screen and then it shut off and will not turn on again no matter what i do. any advice would help. thanks

My IPOD is also dead this evening afte trying to install the 2.2.1 update, I have a blank screen and no response from IPOD (Screen is blank)
I have also the USB Device Not Recognised message, I have tried holding the power and home buttons down for prolonged period, this provokes a response from the PC ie another USB device not recognised message but nothing on screen.
I have also ITUNES open hoping it would pick up the device and suggest reset or reinstallation / restore, but nothing !!! Help, any apple support folk on here ?

If the issue persists, the iPod may need hardware repair. Just request repair online, make a reservation to have a Genius at a local Apple retail store take a look at it, or call AppleCare.

Ipod Touch 2g will not turn on

Guys can someone help please , my Ipod touch 2g will not respond to anything , the screen is totally blank , i have tried charging through a proven source on another Ipod touch, I have tried restoring but nothing is happening any one know what I can try or who I can get to repair it as it is out of warranty

Be sure you turn off all antivirus, spyware, zone alarm, firewall etc. And connect using a different USB hub.

I purchased my iPod Touch 4G in October 2010 in America. Last week, while my iPod Touch was connected to my laptop with the USB cable, I pressed the home button with no response. I have tried all forms of reset that I could find on the Apple website with little luck. The iPod Touch will not turn on, connect to the laptop, charge or show up in iTunes. I have tried on several occassions with numerous different methods to charge the iPod Touch but to no avail. There is no response to anything I do when trying to rectify the problem. I believe that my warranty is no longer intact as it has been over a year since the purchase, and I will not be returning to America again until the end of this year. I also updated the iPod Touch to the latest iOS version available before it ceased working.
Any help is much appreciated.

My iPod will not turn on. When I try and do a hard reset and hold the home and lock button nothing shows on the screen. It will connect to iTunes on my laptop. But nothing shows up on my screen on my iPod at all.

Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
Error 1600, 1601, 1602
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. This error may also be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.

Has anyone had this issue? I charged it over night using the wall charger that came with my iPad, using the USB wire from the iPod touch. Now it does not power on. Ok my ipod touch syncs but not properly,I see a little icon on both itunes and the ipod rolling,itunes shows me that I have less memory available on my ipod after I sync which coresponds well in terms of memory with the ammount of songs I am loading to the ipod but I never see what I think I should see when I sync which is "do not disconnect......". Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Was it setup via wifi?
Setup via iTunes when connected to this coputer/iTunes library?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?
