Welcome!
Last question first, as we need to know what operating system that the Mac is using.
If you are not sure, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then click About This Mac, and post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.
Two possible solutions on the power cord
ORIGINAL OEM APPLE AIRPORT EXTREME BASE STATION POWER SUPPLY AC ADAPTER A1202 if you want a white power supply and white power cord to match up with the Apple device
AC adapter for Apple AirPort A1034 Extreme B... if you don't care what color the supply and cord might be
If you don't already have a Setup Guide.....look here:

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at
http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Bought an Apple Airport Extreme used and it did not come with any discs. Do i need any discs? or is there another way to setup this airport without using a software disc?
You can download the setup manual and software that you need.
Look on the bottom of the AirPort Extreme for the Model Number. It's A....... something.
Post back with the model number and the exact operating system you are running on your Mac or PC. -

Well, when I start working (should I say try to work with FCPX, activity monitor in the %processor column for FCPX jumps rapidly over 100% and reaches more than 200% ??? What the **** is that ?
200% or more is not strange. Remember that your mac has 4 cores (you say it's 3 months old, so I assume it is a new model), so 200% amounts to using 2 of these 4 cores to the max.
Regarding the question of creating a new admin user: while it sits in the same system, it may help if the problem is caused by some user-specific preferences or settings. Not likely in your case, since you seem to have reinstalled from scratch, but still it is worth a try. It takes 5 minutes and may help pinpoint the problem. -
Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me, I recently restored my itouch 4th Gen and was then told to upgrade to itunes 10.6 now everytime I try and install itunes I get the following message, help please!

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards? -
I recently switched to virgin mobile, and was wondering if I could send in my iPhone and get a virgin mobile one instead. Is that possible??
You can sell it on eBay or Craigslist and buy a new one. I had an AT&T iPhone 4S and switched to virgin. I bought the iPhone 4 and sold my 4s for $350 on Craigslist. It cost me about $100 for the new phone after all was said and done.

Hello there, brightongirl9.

Hi, I have an early 2008 24" iMac, I need more storage space and was wondering if I could fit a 3TB Western Digital Caviar Green HDD into it with out any problems? This is the one I've seen, Western Digital Caviar 3TB SATA 6 GB/s 64MB Cache 3.5 inch
My bad?
You're original response was questions/post about an iMac. Now you've edited it to ask about a Mac Pro?
You can more easily add internal drives in a Mac Pro.
Not too terribly easy to add/replace drives in an iMac.
If younhave questions about a Mac Pro, try posting in the Mac Pro forums.
Much more knowledgeable users there. -
I have the AppleCare and was wondering what i have do to get a new phone since I drop and cracked the screen on this phone. What do I have to bring the store when I go in?
ThanksIf you have AppleCare+, for the $49 filing fee, you can use one of your two allowed accidental damage claims. You must turn in an intact iPhone to be eligible (it can, of course be damaged, but all the parts need to be there).
Otherwise, nothing in Apple's warranty covers accidental damage. The accidental damage claim is a special insurance rider only with AppleCare+, allowing two claims, with the associated fee each time.
All you need is the broken phone - they will pull everything else they need off their system from the serial number and your info. -
I was downloading some stuff off of piratebay and I downloaded utorrent. I went back on my MacBook Pro later and found a bunch of pop ups on safari and a completely different safari format. I reset safari cleared everything deleted the stuff I downloaded and they are still occurring. I was wondering if it is an easy fix and /or AppleCare might be able to help me. Do I have a virus?
I would agree with kevin_, it sounds like you have downloaded some adware.
Torrents and piracy sites are extremely dangerous, and you should stop downloading from such places immediately! They have become very common sources for adware and malware on the Mac... really, the only common source, to be honest. You practically can't swing a stick in such places without hitting something malicious.
Stop downloading stolen content, provided by untrustworthy criminals, or you'll have this problem repeat itself. Next time it might be worse than simple adware. -

For example, if the computer is slow, which specific actions are slow? Is it slow all the time, or only sometimes? When did it start to be slow? Did you change anything just before it started? Have you seen any alerts or error messages? Have you done anything to try to fix it? Most importantly, do you have a current backup of all data? SETTING UP HP 8600 TO APPLE AIRPORT EXTREME
I recently purchased an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station. Everything setup perfectly until I took on the task of connecting my HP 8600 All in One printer. I am hopelessly lost especially when it asked for a WEP or WPA key. Can anyone help or send me to the right place.
Will you be connecting this printer to the AirPort Extreme's USB port or via a wireless connection? I am assuming the latter since you ran aground on the WEP or WPA key question. These are types of wireless security passwords. These would be the same that you would use to connect a wireless computer to your network.
Typically, you would use the printer's front-panel interface to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network. You want to use the default setting of the printer being a DHCP client so that it gets its appropriate IP addresses from your AirPort router. You should just need to enter the Wi-Fi network name and password into the panel settings in order for the printer to connect. -
Connecting our Xbox360 to our existing Apple Airport Extreme Base Station.
We have an existing Apple Airport Extreme Base Station at home (connected to a Motorola brand Cable-DSL Modem). This wireless network works magnificently for our PowerBook and iBook... and even for the PC laptops a couple of our "friends" have brought over (and they have to work outside on the porch, since we don't let them in the house with those things).
We broke down and purchased the Xbox360 along with the Xbox360 Wireless Adapter, but I can't get it to connect to our network wirelessly. It connected automatically though, when I used the ethernet cable from the Xbox360 to the Airport Extreme Base Station's output port.
Our wireless network is hidden, and we'd really like to keep it that way for security reasons. Does anyone know if this is possible? Or do we have to sacrifice our network security just to be able to connect wirelessly... so we can get the latest version of that damm Bejeweled game... okay, and play games online... and get HD Movie Trailers that look amazing... I actually am excited about that part.
1.67GHz, 17", G4 PowerBook (03/2005) Mac OS X (10.4.6) 2GB RAM (maxed), using Airport Extreme Base Station with a Motorola Cable DSL ModemThanks for the info iFelix. And wow, speedy too. You
must be a fast typer. (I'm just a Hunt-&-Peck kind of
guy.)
No not too fast I can cut and paste from my file of usual responses.
I'm not really "that" worried about security. We just
have a couple of those "nosey-neighbor" types living
close by, and they both work in I.T. I sound a little
paranoid, I know. But you'd understand if you met
these guys.
Use WPA and they won't be able to access your network even though they can see it.
So I should reset the Base Station to WPA?
Yes
Is that
the factory setting?
No
A guy I work with said I need to
reset the Base Station to "Factory Settings" to get
the Xbox360 to connect wirelessly. Is this true?
Yes, but then you would have no security!!!
And for the password, I shouln't use any real word(s)?
Applications > Utilities > Airport Admin Utility
Scan and Select your Airport
On the Airport Tab
Change Wireless Security
Use WPA Personal
Use a password like this:
4fghj8eybs9nf78swnu
Remember to write it down.
I would also change the Wireless Network Name as well, but this is not needed.
Click OK
Click Update
You will now be thrown off the wireless network.
Wait at least five minutes.
The from the Airport icon in the menu bar, select your network, you will be asked for your password, enter the password, check keep in Keychain (so your Mac will remember it).
That's it.
Don't worry about using anything else, WPA is pretty much uncrackable unless you use a dictionary word for a password such as "table".
