This reply is months late, but hopefully it'll help you or someone else searching with this problem. I was having the same problem and found a way to get rid of it (permanently, it seems so far). The diagram below shows the steps I took in detail.
Note: This seems to especially be a problem if your photo files on the same disk as a Mac OS installation or bootable backup.

JoseThis is how I solved it, thanks to combined information posted on forums:
1. Got a new external hard drive formatted for Mac (I was using read-only Windows from my PC)
2. Created a folder in new external drive >imported to LR->send to trash- empty trash
3. The above was still not working until I noticed one day magically the missing picture icon started to show up in LR
4. I went to the "set as rejected"pictures> locate missing pic (and nearby ones)
5. Selected the pics -photo>remove> delete from disk
Done!!!
Thanks to the hours spent on searching different threads, and to the relentless users because LR never provided any kind of support or formal response to solve this by just letting users to getting lost in frustration . -
I tried to open a folder in my Documents. It does not show in any window but does show up when I am half way between windows. It did the same thing when I tried to empty the trash. It asked if that was what I wanted but I could't say yes because it was or
what is your question/issue here? did the folder have any content in it to begin with? screen shots of what you may be seeing?

Is there a fix or upgrade to deal with the many problems I am experiencing since I installed Lion? I can no longer utilize Time Machine (Does not see the back-up drive); my wireless mouse does not work properly; my iMac has slowed down considerably. I am reminded of having a PC machine again. Bummer!
Either downgrade to Snow Leopard or try reinstalling Lion.
Reinstalling Lion Without the Installer
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.
Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups, do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion files. -
The "File Info..." box does not appear, how to fix?
I have sent this in on the bug fix form and thought id ask on here as well. Basically I am trying to find out the information for my document which I am in the middle of editing, though after clicking on file info within the file menu nothing appears. It wont let me exit indesign as it says there is a dialog box there, the only way i can "exit" this is by selecting enter on the keyboard before closing down indesign. I have tested this on a new document, tried making my screen scale smaller, checked the other desktops and I cannot find or see any file info dialog box when it is apparently in use. I am using an Apple MacBook Pro on operating system "Mavericks-10.9.5". I have done the same sequence of creating a document and selecting file info on photoshop as a test to see whether it crosses over all the software, though this isnt the case. Therefore I have tried to clear my workspace preferences and again to no avail. Can anyone figure this problem out?

This issue has been resolved after finding the below linked post. I reinstalled Indesign and it seems to work fine now, though if the error reoccurs I will add this to my thread. Also something that is worthy of noting is that I also use multiple screens, i vary between using the macbook's screen alone and that of the macbook plus a HD desktop monitor.

Further to using the guidance found in the below thread my illustrator CC has once again encountered this issue. I have been using multiple screens as usual and I am wondering if there is a simpler way to sort the issue out rather then re-installing the software?

(or adds on to the CDFS, I'm not sure which) a Unix
file system which OBP can understand.No. RockRidge extensions only apply to ISO-9660 filesystems and they can only be applied if you're actually creating the filesystem in the first place. Installation CDs boot from a UFS filesystem that doesn't require RR. (Although they may have an additional hsfs filesystem).
If you have a .ISO file, then the filesystem is already constructed. You can't affect RR extensions at that point. Even simple little ISO burning scripts that don't have any understanding of UFS or RR should be able to construct the disk properly.
I have made it
to this point. I have systematically burned around 25
CDs (all made on Wintel -- an old Gateway PC running
WinXP Pro), taking notes on which configuration
settings were used to make each one, attempting to
install Solaris 10 for SPARC. I am at the point now
where OBP recognizes the CD (I no longer see the
"can't execute" error message), but it can't tell
which CD it is i.e. #1, #2, etc. So, I need to open
up the CD catalog once again, and try to determine in
which logical block the disk ID is located, and then
try to figure out where to enter that information in
my CD burning software (currently experimenting with
"Magic ISO".
Also, if you are atttempting to boot your SPARC
machine from the .iso disk #1, you will need to make
that CD bootable. Use your favorite search engine
with the terms "el torito" "bootable CD" and you will
discover a lot of information on this subject.The .ISO file contains the information for a bootable CD. There's nothing extra you have to do. You'd have to worry about that if you wanted to create a new CD and make it bootable, not if you just want to burn the Sun provided ISO images.
In addition, I'm pretty sure that El Torito is an x86/BIOS standard and doesn't apply to SPARC/OBP.

When I try to delete photos on LR3, this message appears. This did not happen when I first installed this over a year ago. How do I fix this?
I contacted Adobe support, I was told to rename my preference files for lightroom, I did, and then I ended up with the original plist files and the renamed ones, and the same problem. The guy I talked to at Adobe said that this was an issue with Mac/Lion. I then contacted Apple, who said that this was not their application and that there was nothing they could do.

My dv6120us laptop boots, but the fan (which works in another computer) does not come on...
I have a dv6120us laptop that I am having fan troubles with. I don't have an OS loaded but the CoA is for XP media center edition. The computer boots up and can access the bios if necessary, but the CPU cooling fan never kicks on. I have pulled it out and cleaned it, but that didn't fix the problem. It doesn't seem to matter how long the computer runs, it does not shut down either. I have pulled the fan out and tried it with a different motherboard and the fan came on like it was supposed to, so I know the fan itself is not faulty. I have also tried a different fan (same, correct part#) with this motherboard, but the second one didn't work either. I don't know if I'm dealing with a problem getting power to the fan or whether it is an automatic shut down problem, maybe both. I'm guessing that I have issues with the motherboard, and I feel relatively comfortable troubleshooting and attempting repairs on the motherboard, but I am at a loss for where to look for my problem. Is there anyone that can help me troubleshoot the motherboard and try to get this fan working? The motherboard HP part# is 434723-001.
I think I have found my problem... I know how to fix this, but I do not know how to identify the specs for this part or where I can find a replacement. I would hate to replace the whole motherboard for an inexpensive fix like this.

I just want to know how to sync my music from my apple id onto my new account on the family computer. Currently itunes warns that the computer is already linked to an account and if i proceed then no music can by auto downloaded or downloaded for 90 days. My issue is that it is a different account then the main account so i do not understand why..
Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

unless your MacBook Pro’s GPU supports a resolution with a 21:9 proportion, it won’t completely fill the 21:9 monitor without distortion.
(Here’s a hint: no MacBook Pro GPU supports a resolution with a 21:9 proportion.) -

Thank you! My solution was slightly different, but in the end, seeing what was going on in the Help menu in the browser did the trick. Turned out I had been stuck for who knows how long "downloading" a version 3! Also had a toolbar to disable but not the Ask.

We don't have a relationship with Puffin Browser, but it is the only viable option for Flash on iOS and Android that I'm aware of at the moment.
