If you are using cable and a Nethear router sounds like from the information you provide before your Airport setting are setup improperly. PPoE is not something a cable service would need to work. Fallow the steps I will provide bellow, I will add some screen shots also to assist if necessary.
1 - Open System Preferences from  (Menu)
2 - Click "Network"
3 - From the Network window you are going to wanna make sure Location is : Automatic and Show is : Airport
4 - Once the Show: Airport is select you should see a window like this, my window is selected for Ethernet simply because I am no longer running Tiger but the window will look the same.
5 - You will want to click on the PPPoE tab and you should see this
6 - You're gonna wanna make sure " connection using PPPoE " is not select, if it is make sure to uncheck this option
7 - Once this is uncheck make sure to click "Apply Now"
8 - You will want to click back on to the "TCP/IP" tab and make sure IPv4 is set to " Using DHCP "
9 - If the option to " Apply Now" is available again please click this
10 - Once this is done go to your Aiport Menu and see if your network is listed and select your network and eneter the password if necessary.
11 - If after these steps you still have issues I would recommend Power Cylcing your Router and Modem for about 5 minutes
12 - Make sure all lights are off when unplugging the Router and the Modem
13 - Some Modems have backup batterys so you may have to push in a tiny button on the back with a pin

Your best bet would be to try resetting the password to the account that you would like to use via iForgot
Once you log in to that account change the email address to anything, it can even be fake its just a placeholder
After you do that you will be free to change your old email address on your appleID to the new one that is now free to be used as it is no longer attached to the other account.

I have charges on my bank account from the iTunes Store for Purchases that were unauthorized. The only authorized purchased that was made on iTunes was a Disney Mickey Mouse app. These charges caused my account to overdraft. How can I get these charges off of my account and get my money back?

You've checked the purchase history on your account ? If you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases

I am sick of getting hacked..... This is the 3rd time my account has been hacked. This time it has only been for $30-40 but it is very alarming that it is getting hacked at all. It's most likely not you, no matter what they say. I have noticed a LOT of fraud with itunes, even with my own account. One time I caught them doing a database restore. I know this because my password automagically reverted back to an old one! I'm an IT guy who helped design DOD classified networks in the mid-pacific. I know security. The best protection for this is to NOT have a credit card listed in iTunes. Use iTunes cards ONLY. It's a pain, but until they step up, it's all you got.

You probably have "iCloud...." on. Uncheck it.
If the contacts are "gone" and they still are in your Addressbook on the Mac:
connect the 3G with the USB cable,
click on the iPhone icon in iTunes,
on the "Info" page "Advanced" part (scroll down) check "contacts" under "replace this information on my iPhone" and the click the "Apply" button at the bottom of the page: it will just this one time overwrite the contacts database on the iPhone with the Address book on your mac....

I have a MacBook and created a slideshow on IPhoto. I made copies (discs) of the slideshow and they did not come out well...how can I create discs with the same quality as the original?

I created an IPhoto slideshow.... the quality was wonderful on my MacBook and through my projector. I was told to export to my desktop and create copies via IDVD. I did that and the copies are terrible quality. 1. How to I make a copy to look exactly like the original and 2. I do I save as a backup should my Mac crash? Select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.
If its not in your purchase history, you should report it to your credit card company instead.
