Please help..

I keep trying to update my regular adobe and I keep getting this error code 1310 it states that I need to verify that I have authority for file C:\config.Msi\PFCICE.tmp file. That issue can be caused by a corrupted or incomplete Visual C++ installation (multiple versions can be installed side-by-side; SxS) that is missing some runtime components (Redistributable Packages) that Firefox depends on (problem with an embedded manifest file that specifies a specific runtime version).
You need to install the missing components (e.g. VisualC++ 2005 Redistrbutable).

Why does thie error message keep coming up when I try to get on line? I never had this problem until I updated this morning. TypeError: Components.classes[cid_siterank] is undefined

New guy here. My wifes computer starting making strange repetitive hard drive noises several days ago. A few frozen screens and now will not boot. The computer is a Powerbook G4 15in. I ran the hardware test several times and got no error code. I even ran the extended test twice with no luck. Finally I got an error code of 2 STF/4/3:ATA-100ata-6-Master. I ran again and got 2STF/3/3:ATA-100ata-6-Master. Last time got 2STF/1/4:ATA-100ata-6-Master. What does it all mean? Thank you for any help. My wife is a teacher and needs her computer every day.

Hi, Dan - Welcome to Apple Discussions.
A 2/STF... error indicates the imminent failure of the hard drive. If possible, you should connect your wife's computer to another FireWire equipped Mac and attempt to boot it into target disk mode in order to retrieve what personal data you can.
If the machine is still under warranty, contact AppleCare (800.275.2273), inform them of the error messages you're getting, and arrange for them to replace the drive.

First, I strongly suggest that you make another full backup to a locally-attached external hard drive. You should do that anyway. One backup isn't enough to be safe, and backing up over a network is less reliable than backing up locally. Then try each of the following steps that you haven't already taken.
1. Restart the backup device. You can do that by disconnecting and reconnecting the power cord.
2. Hold down the option key and select Verify Backups from the TM menu in the menu bar (not the Dock icon.) This operation may take a long time. If the menu-bar icon (a clock that runs backwards) isn't showing, check Show Time Machine in menu bar in the preferences.
3. Erase the backup device. With a Time Capsule, you do that from within the AirPort Utility application; see its built-in help for details. All backups will be lost, so don't do this until you've backed up to another device. After erasing, select the TC again as a backup destination in the TM preference pane. The first backup should be made over a wired connection, if possible.

I am working in a contact centre and have a customer who is giving the following complaint:

Please help me understand the issue that is happening here, as it is the first time I have heard of this kind of failure. as for the DRM - I have no control over this, being only the publisher and not the DRM owner.

Sometimes it helps to delete the iPod Photo Cache folder when you get this message when trying to sync your devices with iTunes. This will explain where the iPod Photo Cache folder can be found on your computer and how you can delete it.

Why does FireFox truncate part of an E-mail of more than one page when I try to print it out? How can I sent an E-mail blaet to several but only show one name o

When I try to print out an E-mail that is longer than one page, part of the 2nd page is truncated. I then have to go to Safari to print out the entire E-mail without part of it being truncated.
When I have multiple E-mail addresses on a single E-mail, how can I send the E-mail so that each recipient only sees his/her name and E-mail address rather than everyone else that the E-mail is addressed to?

Some style rules that Firefox handles well on the screen can cause this problem. Many email sites have a print button which simplifies the message format and removes navigation elements, etc., and Firefox generally handles print-formatted pages better. If your email site doesn't have print-formatted pages or those do not print, a "hack" is to select the text you want to print and then choose the Selection option in the print dialog.
To hide email addresses from recipients, you need to place them in the BCC field. What do you put in the TO field in that case? You can use your own address.

I am trying copy dvd's (with no luck) to my macbook and then on to an external hard drive. What appears to be "copied" on the hard drive comes up with an error when you try to view the movies.

I am new to the Apple community and am having a lot of trouble. I am using a Macbook Pro and attempting to copy movies to an external hard drive for my husbands upcoming travels. I have used the "disk utility" and was able to watch the movie from my Pro but have not been able to figure out how to copy it to the external hard drive. I have a few movies on the external hard drive already but when he tries to view them from his Macbook Air or even the Pro we are unable to do so. An error message comes up and we are not able to determine what we need to do to fix this. We are not computer savvy and would appreciate if someone could explain to us how to resolve this problem. This just started to happen today! Ffox does not open until i click "OK" in box w/error message listed above. This box appears at top left of desktop. A 2-step process that is aggravating.

yup happens on all of the Apple Discussion from my testing.
I think it has to do with the WWDC Apple site redesign. Notice how there are the new grey buttons at the top? But when you go to the Login page you see the old purple and white (which I prefer, but that's another topic). I think that the login page(s?) haven't been updated and that's causing problems.
