Hi, on my last PC when transferring music to my new MacBook Pro i noticed i had about 6 duplicated of each song in every album i took hours in removing them.
I Just wondered Does iTunes store the original music file and then copy it into a separate folder?
If i delete the original file from finder will it remove it from my iTunes library or vice versa. I didnt want to lose any music like i have some how managed to on my old computer.
Or should i keep both files of it in the Music folder and also iTunes library folder?

It does both at the same time.
When you add files to iTunes, it copies them into /Music/iTunes/iTunes media/ folder. The original file remains where it was.
You can drag a file to /Music/iTunes/iTunes media/Automatically add to iTunes/ folder.
This will add to iTunes and move it to /Music/iTunes/iTunes media/.
I keep a shortcut of this folder on my desktop then simply drag files to the shortcut to add to iTunes.
Then there are no "extra" files around.

Please help, anyone please, thank you.To begin with, I would like to try to explain Apple's confusing nomenclature in regard to iCloud.
Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud too.
You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photostream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.
To avoid confusion when discussing your problem, when I mention iCloud, I am referring to the services under the iCloud login, Whereas I will refer to the whole cloud thing as The Cloud.
To go back to your question; you cannot merge accounts, but perhaps using one account for iCloud and the other for iTunes will resolve the majority of the reasons you needed to merge to begin with. -
I cannot backup my iphone, it keeps telling me the backup is corrupt and not compatible. All forums have suggested I delete the last backup but that was months ago and I'm afraid if I do that and it still doesn't work, I won't have anything saved. Can anyone help?

Every since I updated to the latest Camera Raw and Photoshop I have the following issue: when I finish the photo in Raw and bring it into Photoshop I have white squares in the Photo. If I crop the photo the white square disappears until I zoom to enlarge it then the white square reappears. I do not believe the squares are saved
Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

Saving files and copying data into final cut express
I have read that you can create duplicate copies of your I movie project and work between them so ou can make changes but always have a master file.
but I have not been able to figure out how to do that. And after I am finishend with my project I can export it to final cut express for some additional editing and video layering is that true? can I do the sme with final cut pro or just final cut express? you write on a piece of paper; you copy that paper; you continue to write on the first one... how does the copy "know", what you've written..???
sorry, who gave you that advice of copying projects? backup frequently, yepp, that makes sense with ANY data on a computer... but with a backup you allways go back in time.....
FCE is able to open iMovie project directly (don't know about FCP, don't own, $$$); BUT then the file structure is broken, you can NOT re-import project to iM, BUT the movie...
you know the difference? a movie is one single block, a project makes it possible to edit transitions, to edit titles etc...
for sure, you can export and import from and to iM and FCE/P without loss of quality as long as you stay with "dv stream" (native file format of both/all three apps). I'm, doing this a lot, using iM for editing and FCE "just" for "special effects", advanced titles etc.-

The Applications folder is not part of your Home folder -- it is available to all.

when i try to access the itunes store to buy music, it loads at the top and says connecting to itunes store..then it loads all the way and goes to a blank page. it loads and seems like it is will work, but then goes to a blank page. Why is it doing this?

I just downloaded itunes, and when i go to music there are two options. You can either go to the itunes store or scan for media, and when I click on scan for media it does nothing. Help? (I tried deleting itunes and re-installing it but apparently itunes was still on my computer so it asked me if I wanted to just check and see if there were any issues or missing software, so I did that but i still had the same problem.)

After "Restoring iTunes Library backup" it wont link to the files in the iTunes folder. I've followed the procedure as described, and the iTunes folder is in the correct location. iTunes lists all my music correctly (albeit with no artwork), but can't locate any of the files.
I've been restoring my iTunes folder from a backup hard drive to a new computer on which I've downloaded the latest iTunes (10.7). If this is a newer version than the one I backed up with could this be the problem? (I had the latest (to my knowledge) iTunes when I backed up the folder about 3 weeks ago, was this version 10.7?)
Or is the version of iTunes (within recent updates) not an issue when restoring a library?

The general method of use is to download the script to a folder of your choice, e.g. your Desktop, Downloads folder or create a folder at ...\iTunes\Scripts. Select a playlist or highlight some tracks in iTunes and then double-click on the script to execute it. If no specific tracks are selected the script will try to work with all tracks in the current playlist. Some scripts offer a choice of track by track confirmation of changes or fully automatic processing of the selection. Many of the scripts can optionally display a progress bar while running.
You are strongly advised to backup your entire library, or at the very least the iTunes Library.itl file, before use. Test the behaviour of your chosen script on a small group of files first to make sure it does what you want before applying it to large numbers of files.
Most builds of Windows will execute *.vbs scripts when you double-click them. If that doesn't happen then you might need to visit the Add/Remove Programs or Programs & Features control panel to enable the Windows Scripting Host. I can track down details if you have issues.
Backing up and restoring data is an area that is often glossed over. Most people don't try to learn much about it until they've lost something important. (Me too )
If your iTunes library was in the usual layout then normally copying the whole iTunes folder from the User's Music folder in the old computer to the User's Music folder in the new one will usually work fine. Ideally this is done before iTunes is installed so that there is no empty library to replace, and all settings are picked up from the old library. This post contains more details.

I live in China, have Dutch nationality, and no US address or Credit Card; how can I have access to products from the US iTunes store, in particular music, when such items are not available from the China iTunes store? In general, what are the differences between countries' iTunes offerings? Does one really need an address and a credit card for any country to be able to access that countries iTunes store? Why these restrictions?
You cannot.
You cannot use another countrys itunes store.
You must be physically locates inside the borders of a country to use that countrys itunes store and a credit card issued in that country with a valid billing address in that country.
The owners of the distribution rights of movies/music/etc differ by country. These distributors decide who can sell their content in that country.
Buy from another source if your countrys itunes store does not carry somehting that you want. -

I have a problem with the iTunes Store, I have an ipod and an iphone 2. I have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 2007, entering into iTunes Store on the main screen I get only AppStore, Podcast and iTunes U. In my screen I get only ipad2 Podcast, iTunes U Downloads. Updated itunes - windows quickly shuts it down and says something about "Data Execution Prevention". I followed the instrucxtions to a dead end. I have re downloaded it twice and used the repair files once but get the same result. It worked fine before I updated it to death.
Try updating your QuickTime to the most recent version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?
