If purchased from Apple, it will be officially unlocked & will work in India. Be aware, your warranty/support will only be valid in the US, & the phone will only support LTE in North America.

You need to buy Model A1429 (GSM model).
Verizon, which has GSM port unlocked is better choice. But LTE would not work on this model in India with Indian operator's sim.

Because I have a Sprint iPad 4 (ME411LL/A) with a Verizon LTE SIM card in it and can get decent 3G, but no 4G LTE.

I bought an "unlocked" Sprint Gen4 iPad 128GB (ME411LL/A) for cheap and was hoping to use it on Verizon (my family plan). So far it's a bust. The Verizon Store and Customer Support won't touch it!
I found online that folks are taking active Verizon 4G LTE SIM cards and popping them into other LTE devices and having success.
I just happen to have a Verizon JetPack 4G LTE hotspot. I pulled the mini-SIM, cut it down to micro (re-verified it still works in the hotspot) and popped it into the iPad. I can get Verizon 3G, but no better.
Any thoughts?
I also found that Verizon LTE is 700 MHz and Sprint LTE is 800 MHz. Is this a showstopper?
If I cannot get LTE to work, I will sell it to a real Sprint customer. -

US iPads are not locked to a carrier. Don't buy a Verizon or Sprint model, though.

You'll have to read the terms of your warranty for India and see what your availalbe options are.
There are plenty of service providers in India, so that's not a problem.
Your location isn't a problem, what likely happened is your out of warranty period or you purchased the machine through another country and it got registered with a different warranty period. Once Apple discovered your in India, the warranty for that country is applied.
For instance in the EU the warranty period is 2 years by law, so Apple has to honor that. But elsewhere it's 1 year and perhaps that's why you were denied replacement. Not because your from India, that the warranty period for machines in India is one year, like it is for everyone else.
I guess you could fly to the EU and then make a warranty claim from there, but it's already too late, your machine and conversation with Apple was already recorded.
Now if your indirecting asking folks here to service your machine by shipping it to the EU, you better watch yourself around here.

I have brought the iPAD 3 from US Cuppertino with App+ and while transit from US to India i had some incidental damage , I have logged the support and they told me reach out to the Authorised Service provider , But the Authorised service provider wasnt able to help me in replacing this iPAD 3 . I would be in India for Training purpose for next 1 year and wanted Apple Customer Care help in replacing the iPAD 3 from the Authorised Service provider which is india , Please provide me suggestion or support in get replaced my iPAD .

You will have to work with the authorized service centers in India. Why did the service center you contacted say that they could not help you?

Hi, I was working at home with my iPad, everything was going well. It went out battery and after this I am unable to connect to the wifi at home. Before getting out battery no problem, and now it sees the router signal but it is unable to connect to it.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

I am an amateur photographer and have lightroom. My photos are stored on an external disk drive with a backup disk. With iCloud, will all of my photos go to the cloud? Will I still need the external drives? Is the $9.99 per month for just one year or for always?
If the iTunes database files are on that drive, launch iTunes with the Shift key(Windows) or Option key(Mac OS X) held down, select Choose Library, and navigate to it. The computer may need to be authorized to play protected content, and if the library contains rented movies, those won't play.
If not, import the content to an iTunes library.

Im in india and im using my iphone with tata docomo. I try everything to activate my phone no as facetime but activation was unsuccessful. Plz confirm how to activate this. Other service provider is activating it instantly. I talked to my carrier they said they have no restriction for facetime.Facetime activation relies on 'silent' SMS messages to Apple's activation servers in the UK. They are not a supported carrier. You'll have to work it out with them or switch to a supported carrier.

Here is my situation. I am leaving the country on business in a month. Since it is pretty doubtful that an unlocked iPhone 5 will be available for pre-order tomorrow, I'll be buying one at full price under my verizon account (not due for an upgrade yet). Verizon currently SIM Unlocks the iPhone 4S if you meet certain requirements (account in good standing, active 60 days, phone activated on account, etc.) so you can use your iPhone abroad with a local carrier there for cheaper rates. Does anyone think Verizon will do this same procedure for the new iPhone 5? I understand that my new iPhone may not have 4G LTE capability abroad due to hardware limitations on different carrier models, however all new iPhone 5 models have quad band GSM/EDGE and 3G. Would I be able to use this feature if Verizon unlocked my iPhone? It should be noted I am not trying to unlock to use my phone on Tmobile or another US carrier, as with the 4S carriers put a block on this even for unlocked Verizon models. I am looking at this from the standpoint of a traveling business user (and I think there are a lot out there wondering the same thing). Nonetheless I will be preordering the iPhone 5 from Verizon and on release day I will call them and ask if they will unlock it. If they don't I will return it. I'll update my findings here for anyone else curious about this as well.

It is likely locked to a U.S carrier and cannot be unlocked.
Send it back to the person or sell it and buy one from your country or buy an unlocked one from an official seller. -
I just bought an ipad2 which I love. I want to use my cell as a hotspot, but do not have iPhone. A friend is willing 2 give me an older one. With the right data plan, will it work as well as The newer iPhones? The older phone will save me money by avoiding long cell service contract.
Any phone that generates a hopspot will work, as long as you have a plan that supports tethering. Doesnt need to be an i phone.
