How can I share books or audiobooks with another computer?

You can't re-download audiobooks on any computer - they are currently a one-time only download. Music can be re-downloaded in some countries, they are listed on this page. But you should be able to copy your purchases from, for example, your backup and add them to the computer's iTunes via File > Add Folder To Library.

Just make sure it is for you or your family.
If you purchased Pages through the Mac App Store, then just login on the other computer using the same Apple I.D. and you can install it at no extra charge.

You can convert your file to a .dng file and that will encapsulate the meta data into the file instead of it being in a separate side car file!

  • How do i share a photo album with another computer

I have edited a photo album that I wish to share with another computer in my network.  How do I import the album?

If you want to share them as an album the only way to do this is to use  iPhoto Library Manager
Using this will also preserve versions and all metadata
Alternatively you can simply export to a folder (File -> Export) and then import to the other Library. If you drag the folder to the Album heading it will create an Album for you. You can get almost all metadata (but not Faces) this way if you export to jpeg, but you won't get versions.

  • How can you share a iPhoto library with another account user

I have recently seen the light and swapped from Windows to my lovely new iMac. However I am rather confused how I can configure my iPhoto library so my wife can view the same library in her account on the same machine (this was a simple thing within Windows, using shared folders). Am I missing something or do I have to duplicate the same library and place into my wife's account and then update each time we upload some photo's? Please help!

This may not be the "neatest" solution possible, but it's one that works. Just as iPhoto makes it easy to share photos between computers on the same network, you can also share photos between accounts on the same computer; but you'll have to be logged in with iPhoto running.
    1) Configure iPhoto in your account for photo sharing (from iPhoto, select Preferences > Sharing> Share my photos).
    2) Enable fast user switching from System Preferences > Accounts > Login Options. This is the key to the process, which will allow you to remain logged in while your wife is also logged in. It's also a very handy feature if you and your wife use the computer a lot from your own accounts.
    3) Enable "Personal File Sharing" and "Remote Apple Events" from System Preferences > Sharing > Services. [I had already done this step, so I'm not sure if it's strictly necessary]
    4) With iPhoto up and running in your account, use Fast User Switching to log into your wife's account (ie, you remain logged-in). [The Fast User Switching menu will be in the upper right of the main menu bar.]
    5) From her iPhoto preferences, select Sharing > "Look for shared photos" if it's not already switched on.
Your photos will magically appear in the left hand column of your wife's iPhoto application using the name you designated in your copy of iPhoto.
Caveats: performance is not very good, you must be logged in and have iPhoto running, HP printers (if you have one) don't work well with fast user switching
Other solutions might be possible by "drilling a hole" into your account by altering the Unix permissions. I've used this technique to make my iTunes library available to other users on my machine. Such a solution would no doubt improve performance.
Finally, there are third-party products that allow you to manage multiple iPhoto libraries. I've never used these, but they might allow you to load the iPhoto library from another account assuming permissions are properly set.
Hope this is of some use; I'm sorry if it's a little more complicated than you might have expected.

  • How can I share a specific mailbox with another party?

I have a need to share a specific mailbox content with my lawyer.  is there an easy way to do this?  They will need to be able to have search capability and maintain the integrity of the threads rather than just a text file.

You'll have to open another iCloud account - you can't share access to just part of the email account.
Go to http://appleid.apple.com and create a new ID - you will need a different non-Apple email address to do this.
Sign in with it in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars and enable 'Mail' in the checklist there. You should be asked to create a new @icloud.com address.
This account will then appear alongside your present one in Mail. Your lawyer can access it in the usual way - if he doesn't have a Mac he can set the account up manually using the server settings here:

  • How do I share an Aperture project with another computer?

My wife and I each have MacBook Pros running Aperture. How do we share certain Aperture projects?

There is no way to share _and sync_.  Aperture is a single-user application.  You can copy Projects from one Library to another, but changes made to the Images in the Project copied to the second Library are never written back to the original Library.
Moving Projects between Libraries is easy.
Note that you can export a Library, work on the Images in it, and then import it back into the original Library and merge your changes.
All of this is covered better than I can here in the User Manual chapter "Working with Library Files"

  • Can I share books I bought with another iPad user?

My wife and I each have an iPad. She's just bought a book via the iBooks app which she loves and would like for me to read it. Is there some way she can share that with me? Without me having to buy another copy? Or use her iPad?
    John Kendrick

Hardly should be called piracy since she bought it with "our" money. Had she bought the book at Barnes and Nobles, she would pass it along. A bit of a problem with ebook readers.
However, we do share iTunes accounts so we can "share" the books we buy that way.
thanks for the very quick reply.

  • Can I share PS Elements 13 with another computer?

I recently purchase PS Elements 13 as a download to my computer only.  My wife now wants her own PS. Does she have to purchase another download or can I transfer mine to her laptop?

Yes you can install it on two machines in the same household.  Just make sure to use the same email address to "sign in" so that Adobe servers knows that it is in the same household.
    Good luck.
