Two ways:
On your computer when it is recognized in iTunes, double click your device and enter the name you want in the box.
On your iPad:  Settings > General > About
Change the iPad name in the Name Box.

How do you change the name of an ipod nano (6th gen.) in iTunes 11? Note there was an explanation for iTunes 10, but the software does not work the same way in iTunes 11.

Click the shaded box on the top left on itunes 11. Then click show menu bar. From there click the one that says view on the menu bar. Then click show sidebar. Then click on the devices name when connected. Click change device named.

Connect your iPad to your computer with the sync cable and start iTunes if it doesn't automatically start. In the left column of iTunes you'll see your iPad's name. If your iPad is syncing, wait for it to complete or cancel the sync. Once the sync is complete, double-click on your iPad's name and the name will become editable. (The device name cannot be changed while a sync is in progress.)

  • How can I change the name of my iPad in iTunes?

ITunes has my iPad listed as (iPad), in my devices, I want to put its name in iTunes. How can I do that?

You can change the name on your iPad by going to Settings > General > About > Name
Or you can change it in iTunes by clicking directly on the incorrect name on the left side.

  • How do I change the name of my iPad in iTunes??

    Hey guys,
So recently I really really wanted to change my iPad name, and I did on my iPad settings. HOWEVER, when I checked my managed devices in iTunes on my Mac, it was still the previous name, and I am kinda confused.
P.S. i took a screenshot in my "managed device" page in iTunes, and basically i wanna change the thing inside the parentheses
    Thanks

    Hello Frenderez

  • HT3965 how do i change the name of my iphone

I plugged my iphone in and it automatically put my step-dad's name in.  How do i change it?

    Hi.
    1) Click on 'Devices'.
    2) Locate your iPhone.
    3) Click once on the image - this will open up to show the contents of your iPhone (much the same as it used to)
    4) Click once on the name of your iPhone.  This will make the name editable.
    5) Click 'Done' to finish and save.
    Hope this helps.

  • Weird name issue.... how do I change the name of my ipad in Windows

So I have my new ipad.... very good.
I have it nicely named in iTunes with my name. "Jim's iPad"
However, when I connect to my PC, the autoplay feature pops up... and it's called something different "Tom's iPad". When I go into Windows Explorer, sure enough the device is called Tom's iPad. It's definately not Tom's iPad, it's mine!!
Like I say, I've changed it in iTunes, and on the iPad itself in Settings it's named correctly.
Incidently I've never named or entered in "Jim's iPad" anywhere since I bought it.
So... 1. How do I fix the fact that Windows is calling it something different (it won't let me just right click, properties and chance it) and 2) why on earth has some random name been assigned to it by Windows??
    Thanks for your help,

    Go to start menu
    Type REGEDIT into the search
Select find under the edit tab
Type the exact name you wish to correct
correct every entry by clicking on the entry> and then clicking edit>select modify>then correct only the portion of the name you wish to correct> then click ok> go back to edit and click find next> repeat the process for each entry in the registry until the screen says finished>restart windows and plug in your ipad. ENJOY

  • How can I change the name of item in TableViewController iOS

How can I change the name of item in TableViewController? I want to be able to change the title of an item if I added one. Code:

Sounds like you have more going on than just a simple issue with Home Sharing and more dealing with Wi-Fi syncing. Start with the article below and see if that may resolve it.

If you are trying to change the iCloud ID to another ID, go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with the ID you want to use.
If you are trying to change the name of your existing iCloud ID and not trying to change to a different ID, you can change the name of the ID as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621.  After doing so, you'll need to sign out of the exising ID, then sign back in using the changed ID.
