HT4101 Has anyone else experienced a problem with their X10 after transferring pictures to an iPad?

Following the transfer of pictures to an iPad 2 or new iPad (3rd gen) via the SD Card Reader in Apple’s iPad Camera Connection Kit, the card has to be reformatted by the camera to get it to work properly. Not reformatting impacts the X10’s ability to turn on and off when turning the Zoom ring. Sometimes the indicator lamp just blinks (amber) and the camera turns on after approximately 20 seconds or does not turn on at all. In Playback mode, it also takes about 20 seconds before the camera monitor (display) comes up.  Once in Live or Playback mode the camera seems to operator normally and can switch back and forth. Although the issue is not completely debilitating – it limits my ability to back up and edit pictures on my iPad when traveling and severely impacts the camera’s ability to ready for a shot. My X10 has firmware Ver. 1.03 and both iPads are running iOS 5.1.1 – the latest available.

I'm having the exact same problem with a Fujifilm X100 when using a 32GB SD card.  I tried it with an old 4GB card and it worked fine.  With the 32GB after connecting to the iPad with the SD Card reader the camera becomes unresponsive until reformatting.  Not sure if this is a problem with storage capacity of the cards?
I'm running firmware version 1.3 on my camera and iOS 6 beta 4 on my iPad 3.

    Is the lensora report based on actual testing... or merely theoretical?
    I'm wondering ... because there's a well-established history of 3rd party lenses that should be compatible based on the mount, but have problems anyway when a new camera model is introduced that did not exist when the lens was designed.
    At the same time, if you contact the lens vendor for support, they may be able to provide better data and sometimes they can re-chip or re-flash firmware into the lens to upgrade it to a compatible state.

    1st... make sure nothing's covering/smudging the camera lens.  then...
    Standard troubleshooting...
    Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
    Remove the Camera app from Recently Used list...
    - From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
    - Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
    - Press the red to delete the Camera app from this list.
    - Press the home button twice when done.
    - Restart the Camera app
    If still a problem restore with your backup.
    If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
    If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

    That makes less sense as the sim tray a fairly stiff metal and should be pulled straight out once released. You didn't answer the question about where is was bought. Is is a real iPhone?

    This has happened to me twice, at random....................The background of the phone would go dark, and three bars approx 7 or 8 cm in width would appear running down the length of the phone.
    Background was a dark gray, the three bars were a darker gray almost black. 
    I called into Verizon just now and spoke to a CS rep and they transferred me to technical support.  They logged the problem, but I told them I didn't want to send my phone back, as they are on backorder already.
    Please let me know if you have had ANY problems or issues with your screen.  The lady in tech support said once Verizon has taken reports on any problem with -3- people, they send it onto Motorola for resolution.

    I've had my phone for less a month and I've already had issues with my iphone 4. On several occassions it has overheated and shut down. On one occasion I put the phone in the side pocket of my purse where, I also had a charger for my camera. When I removed the phone, it was hot...not warm but hot! On another occasion I was at the movies and put the phone face down on my lap, at one point i touched the phone and again it was hot. When the movie was over, and I looked at the phone it had shut down....this has happened a few  times more since then. I've also had problems with the phone shutting down on it's own. I took it to my local apple store and the representative looked at my phone and ran a diagnostic check for me. He said the everything on my phone looked normal and that my phone probably needs a "breaking in" period...to give it a couple of months...He really didn't tell me much more...I don't use my phone for more than the basics...calling, texting, and some mild app use...I don't understand how I can be having these problems when I've had my phone for less than a month...The rep tried selling my the Apple insurance. He told me that through ATT I only have 30 days, and I would be better off getting this insurance. I feel very dissastisfied with the service I got. I was done with my appointment within 10 mins, I don't think the representative took the time to listen to my concerns.

    Thanks for your reply, but I guess whether this was a silly question is a matter of opinion. That is the whole purpose having these forums...so that people can post their questions, silly or not. Maybe you are an Apple expert or have "techy" knowledge, but I don't. So what may be silly or stupid for you, can be completely different for a novice apple consumer like me. If you must know, I did do my research, and I did do the basic trouble shooting.All to no avail. I took my phone to the apple store, had it diagnosed and was told some very inaccurate information. I ended up going back today, and got a second opinion. This person actually took the time to talk to me and to better explain Applecare and my warranty. She also told me that there is no such thing as a "break in" period, and when there is a shutting down issue, even after a "restore" that it was better to get it replaced. Which is what she did. She replaced my phone. Obviously, the first person, by his own admission, was too tired and ready to go home to actually take the time to explain and offer other options...

  • Has anyone else had a problem with playback right after placing a cut in a multicam project?

    I am working on 4 multicam projects concurrently. 2 sets of same shows but different performances. One program is funtioning just fine, the second studders (pauses) for 8 to 10 seconds after each edit, then jumps ahead to where the play head should be. It really slows the process down. I keep trying diffetent things, like proxy, original media, etc. but it dosent seem to help. I am nearing the end and don't particully want to start all over, but that may be the only solution.

    Also, Keeping an eye on the processors via activity monitor, I noticed that every time I select an edit in the multicam clip all but one processor stops funtioning and that one runs up to 100%. This only hapens while editing this one particular project. All other projects work fine. The stall lasts about 10 seconds but only the video freezes, the audio continues to play on.
    Any sugestions, or ideas of things to try. Open to anything.

  • The GX1 uses a SDHC card.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

    I have recently purchased a Panasonic Digital GX1 camera and cannot import images into iPhoto as I could previously from either a compactflash or SD card using RAW.  The GX1 uses a SDHC card.  When I attempt to import the taken RAW images iPhoto informs me that the images are not in a readable format yet they are RAW images.  Has anyone else experienced this problem with a Panasonic DX1 camera?

    What version of the OS and of iPhoto?

    There are several ways
    Shoot JPEG rather than RAW
    Use the Canon software (or other third party software like Adobe) to convert images prior to importing to iPhoto
    Wait until your camera is supported

    What makes you so sure it isn't software?
    The camera can be focused by take the point of focus on the touch screen.
    If it is new as you said, it should be under warranty. Make a Genius Bar appointment or contact Apple with a repair request.

    Batteries do have a finite life span.
    That said there have been some users reporting battery issues but but there's no way to know what or why or how it happens.
    You can try a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. Let it reboot and see if that helps.
    If you have spares, you can try to swap out your charger and cable, just to see if there's any difference with them changed.
    Another thing you can try is a restore. That's basically where you back it up and then restore it from a backup. (something to do a bit more research into if you plan to do it).
    if you don't want to do that then you can make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out.

    Exactly what does the message say?
    Exactly what files are you trying to open?
    Exactly how are you trying to open them (what menu command or button or mouse action or keyboard shortcut)?
    And lastly, what version of Lightroom are you using?
