It's happening because you are using the same Apple ID for iMessage. You don't need to do anything with your iCloud account to fix this. You should create a separate Apple ID for her device to use with iMessage and FaceTime. (You can continue to share the same ID for purchasing from the iTunes and App stores if you wish; it doesn't need to be the same as the ID you use for other services.) Once you've done this, on her device go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID. Do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.
Another caution is that if you share and iCloud account with her, any data you both sync with the account such as contacts, will be merged and the merged data will appear on both devices. If you don't want to end up with each other's contacts, calendars, etc. on your devices, you should have separate iCloud accounts to. If you want to make this change, go to Settings>iCloud on her device and tap Delete Account. (This only deletes the account from the device, not from iCloud.) When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data be sure to choose Keep On My iPod. Then set up a new iCloud account with her new ID, turn on iCloud data syncing again, and when prompted choose Merge.

Thank you for your reply Domingo. Your suggestion worked as far as sending me a link to buy the book at iTunes. But it did not allow me to download the book from my wife's account. I did finally get an answer from Apple. It took an entire day of emailing back and forth and the final answer was relatively easy once Apple finally decided to give up the solution. Basically, you have to open ibooks and sign out. Then you have to sign into ibooks using the book purchaser's Apple ID and password. Then you can download the book onto your device. Not too bad, huh? It only took a whole day of Apple people sending me wrong instructions before they figured it out. Geez. What a disappointing experience.

Do you get a send error message or a red "!" when you send? Do you have a data plan on your account? Check that your carrier has you provisioned for MMS.

My iPhone, iPad and iPod are all associated with the same Apple ID. How can I remove the iPod and associate it with a new Apple ID without affecting the data on the other devices (note: there is no data on the iPod I want to keep)?
Very simple. Turn off Find my iDevice, then Tap Settings, General, Erase, Erase all content and settings.

Now everything from my iphone is on her ipod & still on my phone too, even my phone # shows up as her ipod. How do I separate the 2 devices? Do I need to reset her ipod? If so when I plug it into the computer won't it happen again?

I am also receiving random text messages from some of her contacts, and she is not getting them.
If it's just a text message and not iMessage that is a problem with the service provider. You should take the iPhone back to the store and explain to them what is going on.

thanks!Sorry, but unless I misunderstand what you're asking, you can't. Purchases from the iTunes Store are permanently tied to the Apple ID through which they were purchased. If your parents want you to be completely independent of their Apple ID and iTunes Store account, you'll each have to re-purchase the apps, etc. Otherwise they'll have to continue to allow you access to their account, or will have to do all the updates for you.

It should be Noted that anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID

If your client is set for automatic recording of changes it should prompt for a transport, check there is not another client where you should make config changes. If not, the menu option Table View -> Transport will let you assign the Auth group to a transport.

Sent iphone 5 3x for repair ( 1 repair and 2 replacement ) in a span of 2 months.. And i just ask apple care to extend the warranty of my replacement iphone 5 for 6 month and they reject it, i mean how can you trust the 2nd replacement if the 1st replacement didnt last even for just 1 month? Really dissapointed!!

You need to add another email Messaging address to the iPod and remove the Apple ID email address. see:

I upgraded my husbands software & his contact mereged with my phone. When I send a text he can see all my text.
To fix this, you need to stop sharing the same iCloud account, and stop using the same Apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime.
One of you needs to migrate their device to a new iCloud account. To do this, start by saving any photo stream photos you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow, then tapping Save to Camera Roll. If you are syncing notes with iCloud, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the person keeping the account won't be effected by this), choose Keep on My iDevice and provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone. Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data. Once you are on separate iCloud accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.
Then go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, and sign back in with the new iCloud ID. Finally, do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime. This will prevent you from getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls. -
When there was only one iPhone and one iPod Touch in the house, an iTunes account was opened and music, movies and other library content was stored and accessed readily for each device.
A second iPhone was introduced and we managed OK by using Music Playlists using the second iPhone on the same Apple ID.
The third phone came along, and since trying to manage that extra account - which included setting up additional Apple IDs (and the wretched iCloud), we have had nothing but issues!
Now I am thinking that I need to have separate iTunes accounts for each person with devices (we now have three iPhones and two iPads reliant on these accounts) - but want to be able to transfer items from the existing account to the individual accounts. That would be a satisfactory solution for most of the data we have stored - but we would still like to be able to refer to a common library.
Apple Care (or should that be 'don't Care') and the guys in the local Apple Store are of no help whatever - the latter referring me to a forum. Apple don't seem too keen to provide actual assistance in my situation. Can anybody help with this matter? - and how will I know if anybody answers this?On your iOS device:

This will hide purchases that are not locally on your device.
In iTunes create a Playlist with just your music and sync only that playlist.
