HT4519 how do i get an additional SMTP server host?

how do i get an additional SMTP server host?

Can we start again.. My site is now online, I couldn't wait any longer because I need it for my buisness so I got rid of the code that wasn't working.
But I still need a rollover text to appear so..
1) I go into the code snippets and add a mouse over event
2) In my actionscript I add your text: yourtextfield.text = "whatever text you want to show";
So do I make an empty text field first, give it a name and replace "yourtextfield" with the name?
Or do I replace "whatever text you want to show" with my text and thats just it?
Or both?
Or am I way off?

  • How do I change the primary SMTP server address on my iPhone DOT-MAC accoun

    My original account smtp settings were for dot-mac. I am having ever increasing problems getting mail to send. I can find the settings for my primary SMTP server, but cannot edit or update them (currently smtp.mac.com), as they are all gray'd out and cannot be changed. I would like to update these settings to smpt.me.com. Is it necessary for me to delete this account in order to update the settings? That seems rather lame.

    What did not work? You could not add an additional SMTP server? It does not matter what the primary is listed as....turn it off. Then turn on the additional server you added.
    Better yet remove your .mac account and add it back as .me account.

  • How do I get connected to a server on my network via an IP address?  When I try to open in a URL and login as a registered user with proper login it errors out saying there was a problem with connecting to the server?

    I am new to Mac...How do I get connected to a server on my network via a hyper link IP address path?  When I try to open in a URL and login as a registered user with proper login it errors out saying there was a problem with connecting to the server?

    Some of the following is going to use some technical terms — this area is inherently somewhat technical.
    If you don't understand some part of the following reply, please ask.
    Is this your own OS X Server system on your own network, or is this some other server within some larger organization?
    You're posting this in the OS X Server forum, which is a software package that allows OS X systems to provide web-based and many other services; to become servers.
    If it's your OS X Server on your network, then the network and DNS configurations are suspect, or the server is somehow malfunctioning or misconfigured.   This is unfortunately fairly common, as some folks do try to avoid setting up DNS services.
    If it's a larger organization and somebody else is managing the server and the network, then you'll probably need to contact the IT folks for assistance; to learn the network setup and DNS requirements, and if there's a problem with the server itself.
    The basic web URL "hyper link IP address path" — without using DNS — usually looks something the following, where you'll need to replace 10.20.30.40 with the IP address of your server:
    http://10.20.30.40
    UptimeJeff has posted a URL that specifies the AFP file system; an OS X file share.  That's used if you're connecting to an Apple storage service somewhere on your network.  You might alternatively need to specify smb://10.20.30.40 or such, if it's a Windows file server.  (There can be additional requirements for connecting to Windows Server systems, too.)
    If there's local IT staff available here, please contact them for assistance.  If these are your own local systems and your own local OS X Server system, then some information on the server will be needed.  (If you're on a NAT'd network, you'll also need to get DNS services configured and working on your local OS X Server system and your network — you'll not be able to skip this step and reference ISP DNS servers here — or things can and usually will get weird.)

  • How to find out about the SMTP Server

    Hi,
    I have been trying to configure groupware in the portal - in particular I want to enable the sending of emails through the portal. I already have a how-to-guide that that seems to explain the steps quite well. However, it mentions that I need to know the SMTP Server of the email. Can you tell me how to find out about the SMTP Server? Where do I need to look for the name of it?
    Thank you and regards,
    Katharina

    Hi Katharina,
    you need the SMTP server of your company. This means you can't look for it in the portal, but have to ask the responsible person in your company.
    Kind regards,
    dominik

    Hi
    You need to check with your ISP whether or not the send mail server (SMTP) requires a password.  Some do, but many do not.  When you know the correct password to send mail, then you need to tell Mail as follows:
    Mail menu > Preferences > Accounts > Select the account
    Click on the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) combo box, and select Edit SMTP Server List...
    In the Account Information tab put the server name
    In the Advanced Tab, set up the authentication information from your ISP.
    Good luck

    If you don't get helpful replies, I suggest you try to improve your question style a bit. There are many non native English speakers around here and the ability to phrase slick sentences varies. But for a start you could try to adhere to minimal English language standards like starting a sentence with an uppercase letter, and ending a sentence with a dot and a blank to separate it from the next sentence. Don't use ellipses (...) all over the place suggesting that the reader knows what you want to say. Rather please say it.
    Its is good style to only post the necessary code to understand the problem. However, the code you posted seems to be cut off too early to even get a grasp at what you are trying to achieve.

  • TS3276 I cannot get my outgoing SMTP server togo "On-Line" and cannot send out emails.

    I cannot get my outgoing SMTP server togo "On-Line" and cannot send out emails.

    I had this problem too but I fixed it today.
    Go to the mail menu preferences.
    Click on account in question.
    Select the outgoing SMTP mail server (the one offline), this has a drop down list, click on the edit server list.
    Click on the advanced button.
    Make sure use default port is checked.
    Make sure SSL is unchecked (unless your provider requires it, mine does not work with it checked).
    Have authentication set to password.
    User name should be your email address for that account.
    Make sure correct password is entered (for some strange reason my password box was blank on this account).
    Push the ok button.
    For me the SSL box was checked and the password was missing. This is strange to me considering I have unchecked the SSL Box on the mail preference advance page. Also, I went through the complete set up account when I first created the account, why was my outgoing server password box empty?
    I hope this helps.

  • How do I add to a current playlist and How do I get the additions to download on my phone?

    First I tried to change a playlist and add more songs.  Now it won't let me add the songs.  Before, I was able to add them, but they would not download to my phone.  The old playlist keeps on downloading.  I think because it is in iclouds.
    Help.  How to I add songs to my current playlist and get them to download on my phone.  If I can't do that, how do I get the old playlist deleted from icloud, my computer and my phone so I can start over.  I don't have a lot of room on my phone.  Before I download a new playlist, I have to get rid of the old one.
    My phone is an iphone 5C LTE 8GB
    It has a capacity of 5.3 GB and 3.2 GB are available.  It is version 8.2 (12D508)  Model MGFD2LL/A

    I think I have this posted in the wrong area, but don't know how to change it.  I figured out how to download songs to my playlist in Itunes 12.1.  It seems that it does not work unless I delete the songs from my library first so they are only available on icloud.  Then I move the songs to the playlist.   After I am done adding the songs to the playlist, I press the cloud next to the playlist and the songs are downloaded to my iphone.  If I press sync first, I end up with the old playlist back on my computer minus the deletions and new songs.
    I am now having problems getting my new purchases to transfer to my library.  If anyone knows how to get Itunes 12.1 to do this automatically, please let me know.

  • How do I connect to an SMTP server that requires a username and password?

    Hi,
    I am currently working on a project for university which requires me to send and receive email. I was until this week able to send mail no problem, but now the SMTP server has been upgraded so that each time a mail is sent it requires the username and password.
    Ideally the connection should be made using TLS/SSL, and not use the Authenticator method. I want to pass the username and password directly if possible.
    I've been trying to use the following but have been getting handshake, and other exceptions:
    SMTPSSLTransport smtpSSLtransport = new SMTPSSLTransport(session,
                        new URLName("smtp", smtpHost, port, null-File,
                        "USERNAME", "PASSWORD"));
            smtpSSLtransport.setStartTLS(true);
            smtpSSLtransport.connect(new Socket(smtpHost, port));
            smtpSSLtransport.sendMessage(smtpMessage,                                                     message.getAllRecipients());
            smtpSSLtransport.close();Can anyone correct this piece of code for me or point me in the right direction of what classes and methods I should be using?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Gordon

    I always wonder what misleads people to do things this way.
    Was there some example you saw that suggested that instantiating
    an SMTPSSLTransport was the correct approach? I hope not.
    See the smtpsend.java demo program for how to use SMTP
    authentication. If you need to use SSL, see the SSLNOTES.txt
    file for hints on using the "smtps" protocol. smtpsend.java also
    illustrates use of SSL, but you'll need to fix a bug in it to use the
    correct property names ("mail.smtps.auth", etc.).

  • How To Turn On the IIS SMTP Server?

    I have the IIS SMTP server installed in my PC. While testing to send e-mails using the JavaMail, I can see that messages do not reach the server.
    I have never used the IIS SMTP server before. I think the problem is that the server is not running (I could be wrong). How do I turn on the IIS SMTP server?

    My IIS SMTP is running because
    1. I typed http://xp-jenc-c/ in the browser and I am connected to the Windows XP Professional (http://xp-jenc-c/localstart.asp) and it says that 'Your web service is now running.'
    2. On my desktop screen, I click on the IIS. And then expand the XP-JENC-C (local computer) node. Right-click on the Default SMTP Virtual Server. I can see 'Start' is grayed out. Only Stop and Pause are the available choices.
    However, messages cannot reach the server. It is hanging after I submit the mail message. Here is the code of the msgsend. java:
    import java.io.*;
    import java.net.InetAddress;
    import java.util.Properties;
    import java.util.Date;
    import javax.mail.*;

  • How do I set up the SMTP server on Lion

    Hello
    I want to use my OS X Lion server to send mail only (I use Rumpus FTP - which needs a SMTP server so that it can send notification emails)
    Is this possible to do with OS X Lion Server?  If so - how?
    Server is set up and running nicely, with DNS etc all running.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

    Hello Camelot
    Thank you for your reply.
    Is there a way of testing for sure that SMTP is set up and running, using say telnet??
    I've turned on mail and entered my server domain name, port 25 into the email settings of my Rumpus client (so that it can send notification emails - it also happens to be running on the same server, so I tried localhost and 127.0.0.1 as well but no sucess.
    I have not entered authentication credentials, but turned off authentication using Server Admin.
    Thanks again

  • How does Mail decide which outgoing SMTP server to use?

    I have Mail setup with two accounts - one for home use and one for work.  Each has its own outgoing SMTP server.  My question: how does mail decide which outgoing server to use?  I don't want to mix work and home stuff.
    Specifically, what happens in these three scenarios?
    1) I compose a new mail.  Does it always use the first account's outgoing SMTP server or does Mail look at the recipient's domain and base its decision on that?
    2) I reply to a work email.  Is Mail smart enough to look at my domain or the sender's to know to use the work outgoing SMTP server?
    3) I reply to home email.  Is Mail smart enough to look at my domain or the sender's to know to use the home outgoing SMTP server?
    Any information is much appreciated.
    Tom

    Hi Juergen,
    Thanks for the suggestion - I had to "Customize" the viewable header to include the "From:" ("Von:") line to see who I was sending as.  As far as the "use this SMTP only" checkbox is concerned - they're checked on both my accounts - so I'm not sure how much of an impact that has.  To be honest, I thought this checkbox was meant to limit your outgoing mail (for that account) to this mail server only.  I thought that if it was not checked, Mail will try to send the mail via another SMTP server if the one for this account is not reachable.....after all, why else would Apple allow you to check both servers' "use this SMTP only" checkbox?
    But this is good enough for me - now I can see who i'ms ending as.
    Thanks,
    tom
