The code it gives me is (-3253). What is wrong?

When I try to activate my home sharing on iTune I get this error message."home sharing could not be activated because an error occurred(-2146762487)" .How can I solve this problem?
I have a brand new iMac with all the newest updates etc etc, Safari logs me in without any problem but iTunes etc is just not working.. and I have the same message...Any ideas how to resolve this?

Audible books not showing up in home sharing
On my new mac mini I brought some books from Audible they appear in iTunes
under "Books" but they do not appear under the home sharing and I am unable to tranfeer
them to my older machine where I keep my media filesGuess I should have looked at FAQ first looks like Apple does not allow us to do this

Just in case anyone else has this problem, here is what Apple replied to me: "Dear Carol, Greetings from Apple iTunes Customer Support. I am Sayantan and I am glad to assist you today. I understand you are unable to share audio books using home sharing. I know how upsetting it can be. I will help you with this. Unfortunately, you cannot share iTunes Store Audio Books, Audible spoken word content, or QuickTime sound files. In accordance with iTunes Store policy, you may share the music in your library and playlists with up to five other computers, provided the following conditions are met: 1. Your computer is using Mac OS X version 10.4.11 or later, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7. 2. The other computers are on the same local area network as your computer, in the same subnet. To share a song in a password-protected shared library or playlist, you will need to enter a password. To share a song that was purchased using an iTunes Store account that is not authorized on the computer you are using, you will need to enter the Apple ID and password with which the song was purchased. You can share MP3, AIFF, WAV, AAC, and radio station links, but you cannot share iTunes Store Audio Books, Audible spoken word content, or QuickTime sound files. To prevent other computers on your network from seeing or listening to songs in your library or playlists, turn off music sharing. My iPod touch 4th gen. Keeps giving me the error message "cannot connect to the app store when I sign in. I can open the app store and browse it but I can't download anything. I have full signal strength with my wi-fi and safari is working perfect. I turned it off and restarted it 3 times now. I have an iPad 2 and the app store works flawlessly with it. What is going on?
Same here on my lpad2. Can access the web just fine from browsers but cannot install new apps or updates in appl store. Seeing a few others reporting same issue tonight so likely an apple server issue and staff will notice it in network monitors and fix it...sometime this weekend.

The iPad keeps giving me an error that it is unable to verify the update due to not being connected to the internet, but I am. I have tried power cycling the iPad, disconnecting and reconnecting to the internet... None of which has any effect. Any ideas?
1. Close all the applications (double click home button and close the running applications.
2. keep the home+power button pressed till the time device reboot automatically.
ones rebooted go to settings-> general -> software update.
it should check for the latest update 7.1 which you can download and install. -

I'm new to iPad mini and uv I'm trying to get a movie I purchased to where I can watch it offline but when I click the option to download and watch offline it keeps giving me and error with download try again later I have a good wifi connection ??
You have a "good WiFi connection". What does that mean exactly? Can you send and receive email and are other internet related activities working OK for you? Have you tried restarting or rebooting your iPad? Sometimes that helps. If nothing else, it's a good place to start.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
