HT4528 I recently downloaded the newest software and now my Iphone 4s shows the location services Icon is on all the time. How can I change this back to what we originally had or is there a fix for this?

When I downloaded the most recent software update the location services Icon showed up even thought I was not running any programs. Is this something new and is it going to drain my battery? This was not happening before the download. I am told I have to just turn off the location services biut I do use them on a daily basis and it seems to be a pain to have to shut if off everytime. Does anyone know how to fix this or am I just screwed until I upgrade the phone?

As a first step, I would suggest restarting and/or resetting the iPhone:

Next time you accidentally use 3 fingers it will zoom again. Unless you need the feature you're better to turn it off

I am leaglley blind I use a 5 inch window at the top of my screen to see what I am typing. This version does not let me see what I am typing because the window drops down about 1 to 2 inches, obscuring what I am typing. Is there a fix for this problem?

I just updated my Ipod touch to the newest software and now I can not get any of my songs to sync onto my Ipod. All of my songs were wiped from my Ipod but are still in my library and playlists on my computer, but when I click sync none of it works

So I updated my Ipod touch to the newest software on my pc laptop which is windows 7. The software update wiped all of my songs and apps off of my Ipod. This is not that big of a deal because the songs and apps are still in my library and apps folder in itunes on my computer. The problem is, when I go to sync all my songs and apps back onto my ipod the tracks and apps are not syncing. It's almost as if the computer thinks all the songs are still already on the ipod but they are not. What do I do here?

Updating iTunes has nothing to do with an iDevice going into recovery mode.
If the device is in recovery mode, restore it via iTunes on a computer.

Downloaded 5.0 software and now my iPhone 4 won't play my downloaded music.

I downloaded the new iOS 5 software for my iPhone 4 and now the music that I have been listening to all along, which I previously downloaded from the internet, will no longer play. When I turn the song on it stays at 00:00.
My iPhone WILL however play music I have purchased on iTunes. So it will play .m4a files but not .mp3 files.
All of my updates are current incluing my iTunes version 10.5
I have flattened my phone and have tried re-adding the music back onto my phone, however it still will only read 'some' of my music.
What am I missing? Someone please help.

I have the same problem but when I go to itunes, it lists all the songs/albums and the artwork and if I go to play them it say that it cannot find the source files. I did not change anything else and now 5.0 cannot find the songs. It tries to download and when I sync, nothing actually syncs. Any suggestions. Thanks.

It sounds like your colors have become inverted on your display. This is a feature of Universal Access. Please refer to the attached article for information on this feature with instructions to toggle it on and off.

I updated my iPod to the newest software and now my it keeps restarting. I can't view anything. The logo is the only thing I can see. I can't even turn it off.

I hooked my iPod touch (4th generation) up today and it said that there was new software to be downloaded so I downloaded it. Everything seemed fine but when it was complete it restarted and restarted and is continuing to keep restarting. Has been for a good hour. I can't turn it off, restore or anything. What can I do?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

This was the scenario:
The first time I updated, it was only my music that was lost.
When I got my music back, I lost my apps.
When I got my apps back, my contacts, notes and photos were lost.
Now I got back everything except for my photos.
(Yes, I restored from backup several times since the first update.)
Do you think if I try restoring from back up, my photos that were taken from my ipod will be restored finally?

Try some basic troubleshooting:
(A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
(B) Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
(C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

This indicates the device is in recovery mode.
Connect it to a computer running iTunes and restore it.

Can you see them in Disk Utility?
If so, can you select and Mount them?
If not, disconnect them, reset the iMac's SMC and then reconnect them.
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Unplug the computer's power cord.
3. Wait fifteen seconds.
4. Attach the computer's power cord.
5. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
If you still can not see them, connect them back up to the iMac running the older OS, open Disk Utility and look to see how they are partitioned and formatted.

Now I have to click on an icon on the top, This is a backward step if that is now the only way to see the number of items. Am I missing something obvious?

In the good old days of Snow Leopard, an open Finder folder had a border along the bottom of the window which could show the number of items in that window and the total available space on the hard disk or partition that folder resides on. That bottom border is gone in Lion and those two bits of information are gone with it. Is that what you're talking about? If so, I'd like to learn how to get it back too and "Show Item Info" is not the way.
