    While this is obviously a vent, I really would welcome suggestions for password help in the future. Here goes...
    We don't use Skype often, but when we want to use it, we want to use it NOW. Because we don't use it often, we forget the Skype name and password between times. Yes, we should have a way to remember it, but this is 2015 and we expect a tool to help us out a little bit in our busy lives.
    The first step is to remember our Skype name. Since we had to pick a unique one, it's not something we use for anything else and we don't remember what we had to come up with on the fly when we signed up for Skype. Fortunately, we did keep the welcome email from when we signed up and it has our Skype name in it. Great!
    Ok, next we need our password. Nothing we type is working. We click to request a password reset and an email is supposed to be sent to us.  One would think it would arrive immediately, but no. We requested it more than 2 hours ago and have not received anything. And no, it is not in the Spam/Junk folder either. We know the code will only be good for 3 hours. Where the heck is the email to tell us what it is?? If this were a one-time circumstance where it didn't arrive right away, that would be forgivable, but this has happened before. No email, or at least not until several hours later.
    Ok, with no reset email, we keep trying different passwords and none work. Now we're notified that we're locked out and need to wait to try again. Did I mention we want to use Skype NOW? We don't want to wait over 2 hours for an email (which still hasn't arrived). We don't want to be locked out for 24 hours. We want to Skype... NOW.
    Ok, we need customer support help. Where is the customer support number? Doesn't seem to be one. Where is the live chat button? Need to pay for that. Well, email takes forever, but at least it gets a message straight to Skype that we need help so we'll go that route. Guess what, you need to be logged in to be able to send an email for support. Are you kidding me?? I need to be logged in to tell you I can't get logged in.
    Ok, the only other option for help is the community. The existing posts aren’t helping me, and I can't post anything new unless I'm... get this... logged in. I cannot believe there is no way to get a message to anyone connected with Skype unless I'm logged in.
    Out of total desperation, I created a new Skype account. And going against all best practices for security, we have written down the odd user name we needed to choose, as well as the new password. Out of the 300 million Skype accounts that exist, I can't help but think some 200 million of them are extra accounts people needed to create because they couldn't get their password reset.
    I'll end my venting there. If anyone has any insights on more I could've/should've tried to get my password reset IN A TIMELY MANNER, please share. I would not be surprised if the reset code email eventually arrives, but if it's going to take 2+ hours to get it to me, don't even bother.

  • Help with logging in to my Satellite L10

    I have a Satellite Pro L10 with WinXP Pro installed in it.
    One day, when I started my notebook, a Windows logon window came up and was asking for a password. It already had my name in the username box but no password. I did not enter a password when I was using it or had this window before, it just suddenly showed up.
    Whenever I try to enter any pasword it says, "The system could not log you on..." and when I just press OK without entering any passwords it says that it is loading my personal profile and I see my wallpaper but then it says logging off and just goes back to the Windows logon screen.
    The Windows logon screen that I have has a name of "Log On to Windows" in the Title bar and 3 buttons(OK, Shutdown, and Options) and has a little blue square with the letters EN at the bottom left corner. When I click on options it just removes the blue square.
    I just use this notebook to learn about computers so I have not yet connected this to the Internet and did not save any files or documents.
    I tried restarting in Safe Mode, Last Known Good Configuration, and Directory Services Restore Mode but it still brings up the Windows logon screen.
    Please help me.

    Hello anyone out there,
    Please bear with me as I am probably your ultimate dummies here.
    I am at my wit's end trying to log on into my MacBook Pro 10.6.8. I'd started with when I bought a domain name and creating my blog which probably resulted in my Mac having direct access to my domain name database, as I started to see file folder that I don't remember saving. In the process, I somehow managed to get myself locked out of my Mac because of (what I guess) is changing my password and key chain access very late in the night with a not very bright state of mind :(
    So when I tried logging in the next time I got locked out. I look around support pages and follow instruction on installing with the original, it doesn't helped that i thought I looked into the wrong start up page intended for Lion. Reading some more I tried restarting again with the original disc that comes with it, with no luck, screen shake when trying to log in. I brought it to my local Apple shop, the guy there couldn't help at the time but offered me to come back the next day so to install it with Fire Wire.
    When I came back home that night, I managed to log in back to my page (although I was doing the exact same step before with no luck). I was then able to use it although some screen preview behaved differently. Oh the very same night, I had also dropped my Mac (and my heart) but with what i think is no further damage other than cosmetic. I also see that my root folder storing many html files loaded probably from sites i visited during the website creation. Instead of just clearing cache and changing browser preview to firefox (as I seem to understand now) I had again got my self locked out! Reading support pages, I log in using Cmd+S and follow instruction i found on community page, and did this:
    :/ root# /sbin/fsck -fy
    at the end it says The Volume Macintosh was repaired successfully
    Then i typed mount -uw (it says illegal option)
    Then i type /sbin/fsck -fy again thinking perhaps i type mount -uw too early.
    now it says /dev/rdisk0s2 (hfs) EXITED WITH SIGNAL 8
    :/ root#
    Question is: what do i do from here?

    For you I think it's best to take your machine to a local PC/Mac tech support and/or have someone in person assist you with your needs.
    We can only assist those who can assist themselves and it appears your machine needs to be looked over for hardware problems from the fall, then software problems, then finally finding out what your doing and what needs to be done to arrive there.
    It's all way too much for us here to handle as we can't even see your machine, so we have to go by what your saying and it appears your just searching around and entering unknown and possibly dangerous things via root user without understanding what your doing.
    So do that and let someone assist you in person as it's best for you.

    This to function helping me but I miss the action like insert was made or update or delete

    HR_INFOTYPE_LOG_GET_DETAIL bring table fields with all the field that change
    but i dont now if user create new infotype for employee or just take one field and change it like from infotype 0006 just change street or postal code
    i wont to now if it is an insert (create new infotype ) or update or delete fields from infotype.

    I am working on a website through flex, and I was planning on
    just embedding the swf file in an http file on my centOS server,
    but I want to have a log in available to authenticate users. I
    would like to be able to just compile the db into the swf file, but

    Are you sure you are signing in with the correct iCloud ID?  If so, you'll have to contact Apple support for help: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/.

  • Help with logging in to MacBook Pro.

    I Got a MacBook Pro today and i was abler to log in fine. But when I changed the password to something personal to me so no one could get in it, after entering it, I wAsnt able to log in. So I put in the installation disk and reset everything and changed the password. It let me in..but the applications were gone. So I put in the application disk and it uploaded that. But then, they still didn't work. it said that the current version of mac osx was not compatible for the apps. so I preceded to do a software update. so that finished, and now I'm back to my problem of not being able to login, I tried resetting it but nothing works. Please help I want to play on my new laptop! Thank you in advance for any advice

    My log in screen(after clicking the skype icon) will only let me type in my username and password but won't let me click any buttons or boxes. I have the free version and it worked on my previous computer. I already tried reinstalling it and keep getting the same thing. Please help!!

    Do you have all Windows updates and updates to any hardware devices by the manufacturers?
    What version of IE ("Internet Explorer") do you have? You can tell by opening a Internet Explorer Browser window and then doing:

    The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

    Help!!!  My nephew has an iPod, 4.2.1 version, which I am trying to update to iOS 5 so he can download games.  The directions on the Apple website say to go to "Settings," then "General" and then "Software Update".  But there is no "Software Update"  listed under "General" on his iPod. I have been searching the Apple website & trying different things with no luck!  Can someone help me?

    Sorry. Apple stopes using apps using google things and YouTube was from google so they don't have it anymore. You can still go to m.youtube.com it is a mobile version and it is better then the app.
