According to Apple support, you cannot remove the phone on the device list under "find my iphone" until you turn it off and it goes offline. (It also says the device will go back on "find my iphone" when it goes online again, which seems to mean you can successfully remove it, but as soon as you turn it back on it will be back on the list, and thus you will not be able to restore it.) It's a bit of a conundrum. In my case I couldn't for some reason turn off my phone with the home/sleep buttons - nothing happens, the phone stays on. While on a chat with Apple support, they got my iphone offline (I was able to turn it off by pressing the sleep button and swiping where the red "turn off iphone" arrow would have appeared) and removed it from "find my phone", but when I reconnected to itunes it turned on and reappeared in the "find my phone" list. Luckily, the screen suddenly appeared (it had done this several times yesterday, just briefly), so I was able to turn off "find my device" from the phone. I was then able to restore. Unfortunately, this does not answer the question of how to remove the device from "find my iphone" and keep it off while connecting with itunes to restore (unless you have my good fortune of having the screen suddently reappear). Apple support seemed puzzled that it had reappeared on the device list under "find my iphone". Time will tell whether the restoration fixes the blank screen issue.

I have 2 email address linked to me on Outlook. one is a personal one for me and one is a group email address but both on the same domain.
I have my own inbox set up on my iphone and i have tried to set up the group email address on my iphone, but because the credentials are the same, it is only bringing through my emails and not the one for the seperate email address - is there a way round this?

What do you mean "the credentials are the same"? The part of the email address before the @ should be different. If not then you do not have two different email addresses.
Just go into the mail settings and choose add account. Enter the info for the second account. It won't matter that your incoming and outgoing smtp server are the same. If it did how could millions of people all use Yahoo or Google?
If what you really have is one email account with a rule set to send specific emails to another folder, someone else will have to help you.

How can I populate my PC HD with all the files that are currently on my iPod Classic?

I think I've changed PCs three times since I've had my iPod Classic 80 gb.
I think because of this, I have lost copies of files on my PC along the way (probably some of them remained in the earlier PCs and never made it to my current PC) although everything still seems to be on my iPod. So, I often get the message "Cannot locate file."
Is there a way to populate my current PC with all the files I have on my iPod?
Simply syncing my iPod doesn't seem to do the trick.

You cannot use an iPod backup to restore to an iPad, nor can you use an iPad backup to restore to an iPod.
Some apps support data syncing through iCloud, but this feature needs building into the app by the developer. If your app doesn't support this, then I believe there is no way to transfer the data between your two devices.

If you don't have the update option on your phone, you will need to update in iTunes on your computer.

If you have a Pop mail account, Thunderbird can only access the Inbox on the server and download anything that has not been previously downloaded.
This is how all pop mail accounts work.
If you have an IMAP mail account you need to '''subscribe''' to remotely view server folders. You subscribe a folder by right-clicking on the remote Inbox, selecting "Subscribe", expanding the Inbox tree in the window, and subscribing whatever folders you want. You can configure it to show all folders by unchecking the checkmark at "Tools -> Account Settings ->Server Settings -> Advanced -> IMAP -> Show only subscribed folders".
You can also choose to synchronize folders for offline use.

Phone B = phone that you want to copy from A
Backup Phone A.

Phone B should be on the 'Hello' screen. Do not swipe it. Launch iTunes. Plug in Phone B.
When iTunes asks if you want to set up as new phone or restore from backup, choose restore from backup of Phone A.
After this setup, any changes to one phone (i.e. adding a contact, downloading an app) will have to be manually duplicated on the second phone, if that is your desire). Making changes to one phone will not affect the other after setup.

Try backing it up to your computer with iTunes. Connect it to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of the phone in iTunes, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click Back Up Now. Also go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases to transfer you apps and other purchased media to your iTunes library.

You will need the previous owner's Apple ID and Password to:
1. Turn off Find My iPhone

I have done everything suggested in Apple support with no success. I still get the error everytime (about 5 minutes into backing up iPhone data). How can I upgrade to iOS5 without losing all the data on my iPhone (the error message says that if I continue I will lose all data on the phone)? If I have already synced the phone before upgrading the OS, would I be able to restore my data after installing the new OS by syncing after the OS upgrade is complete? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
Before you restore or reset, I would try that first.
