You do not have iOS 5 on your iPad so you have to update by using a computer via the latest version of iTunes. You can connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Select the iPad on the left side under the devices heading. Click on the Summary Tab on the right. Click on Check for Update.
After you update to iOS 5 or later, you will have Software Update in you settings and can update via WiFi OTA. If you have the original iPad - you can only upgrade to iOS 5.1.1.

I got an iPod touch 4th Gen about 5 years ago. A year and a half or so ago I stopted using it, then on ios 4.3.2. Yesterday I got back to using it, and wanted to update to ios 7. I have learne that you can't update it to ios 7, but to ios 6. I can't seem to find how to update it. I've checkedin settings, and have been unable to find where you can update it.

I think you have a 1G (original) iPod touch. These do not have BT.

Thanks for any help!!!If you see a message that an app requires a later version of iOS, it is referring to the MINIMUM iOS version required. For example, if it says it requires iOS 7.0, then it will work on iOS 7 or any version after it. Just update to iOS 8.3.
