HT4623 how do you update to iOS if you have an iPhone 3G?
i have an Iphone 3G and i cant update the software past 4.2.1..... the phone isnt working right and its stopping me from downloading the apps i want eg facebook and viber.
i had them yesterday but the phone wasnt working right so i had to wipe everything.... now i am unable to download the apps.

iOS 4.2.1 is the most recent version for an iPhone 3G. If you don't keep your programs on the Mac or PC, you can't install them on the phone

Connect your iPad to your computer and let iTunes back up your iPad. After it does that disconnect it and go into your settings under general and under reset and select erase all content. After you do that reconnect to your computer, open iTunes and follow the screen options to set up your iPad as new. Once it is done doing that see if you have the latest version of iOS installed and if it does then either download gain the apps you had before or restore them from the backup made previous.

How do I update to IOS 7.0.2 using my computer and Itunes? I have upated to V 11.1. and have my Iphone attached to tower but I am unable to install. "Download and Install" is still grayed out.

You can not install anything but the current version of iOS. If you have a 3Gs, then you can install 6.0.1 by plugging it into your computer running iTunes (10.7 or higher). If you have a 3G, 4.2.1 is the end of the line.

I want to update IOS 4.2.1 on Iphone 3G to IOS 5 by using Itune. Itune said that IOS 4.2.1 is the latest. How can I update IOS 5 or later on Iphone3g?The iPhone 3G can not run anything higher than 4.2.1. It's obsolete.

Unfortunately for the last couple of days; when I've stepped into my App Store app and type in an app to download, the screen stays blank. Actually literally EVERY screen within the app store is unresponsive. I do have an iPhone 4S with an underlined company, I'm curious to know if maybe that could be a reason why my app store is not working. Someone please help me.
Are restrictions set on your iPhone?
Then disable the restrictions in the settings.
If no restrictions are set, the appStore may have accidentally be dragged to a folder: try to reset the Home Screen layout:
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout
This will restore the original layout. Don't do it, if you want to keep the folders, you have created. -

How do you update iPad iOS under Settings/General/Software if the Software button is non-existent?
You do not have iOS 5 on your iPad so you have to update by using a computer via the latest version of iTunes. You can connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Select the iPad on the left side under the devices heading. Click on the Summary Tab on the right. Click on Check for Update.
After you update to iOS 5 or later, you will have Software Update in you settings and can update via WiFi OTA. If you have the original iPad - you can only upgrade to iOS 5.1.1.

I have the original iPad and I don't have an option in Settings, General for Software Upates. The App Store only has a Spanish version. Does anyone know how I can update to iOS 5?
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.
