For the record, since the iPad 2 supports iOS 8 any attempt to update the iPad 2 will result in an update to 8.1. Apple only supports updating to the latest version of the operating system that the device supports.

Can't install software update for office 2008

I am trying to install the update below and i keep getting this error message. This is the first time that I have ever encountered this problem. Should I be re-installing microsoft. I'm not really sure what to do.
You cannot install Office 2008 12.1.7 Update on this volume. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume.

I have no re-installed office 2008, and have done a disk verification through disk utility and i tried to install the update and received the following error message:2008 sp1 update 12.1.0 update caot install on this volume. a version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume"
What do i do now I have no idea how to install this update. Do i uninstall it completely and try re-installing. Please help

I checked the software update download the MAC OS X 10.5.7, when the software update said that the new software requires to restart the system, I pressed the "restart" button, then when it "restart" there's this window that said installing 1 item [on the top] and on the very bottom, its says "configuring installation". I thought its just normal so I left it like that. After 2 hours, it isn't finished yet and I can't wait anymore longer because I have something to do so I just shut down and open my macbook. Then i searched youtube about the update, i watched a video that says it only takes 5-7 minutes so I think there's a problem.

You can't update if you have the iphone 3G.
If you have the 3GS then update using iTunes.
But sounds like you have a 3G.

There are two files that ought to change when you set your preference:
"/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist"
"/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.scheduler.plist"
Try moving both of them out of the prefs folder. Then launch System Preferences and reset your preference to whatever you want (or uncheck the box altogether). See if that works. If it it does you will have to also reset your other System Prefs, since all will be returned to the default. If it doesn't do the trick, you can put the originals back and thus avoid the resetting.

The iPhone 5 is compatible with iOS 8. To update, go to Settings > General > Software Update. Now follow the instructions there.

Sign out and back into your apple id from Settings>iTunes and App stores>(Your apple ID)>Sign Out and then sign in again with the new address. Close app store from running in the background (or restart the phone if your unsure how to do this). If when trying to update any apps they are still asking for the old apple ID, delete and re-install those apps.
