As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB
If you have iOS 4.2.1 or later on the iPod and there was version compatible with that version, then you should be able to get a compatible version by:
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

That would likely be because the app must be downloaded then installed. That means more memory is required than what the app will end up using once installed. Think of it like you are downloading a compressed archive. Then you have to dearchive in order to get the application. Finally, you delete the archive. Until that last step your device needs space for the archive and the contents of the archive.

Changed username and password for App Store, now can't download already purchased apps.

I recently changed the email associated with my Apple ID and then later the password for it. Now the App Store thinks I'm a different user and does not recognize previous purchases. When I try to login with the old account info it does not work. Can someone help me get the App Store to remember the purchases that I've already made?

Content purchased with an Apple ID are permanently tied to that Apple ID.
Did you change the email address or create a new one?
If the former, simply sign out and sign back in with the correct credentials.
If the later, simply provide the password for the correct account.

My daughter's ipod touch says it has no available space and can not download anything. It has a capacity of 6.5 GB. She only hads 236 songs, 3 video's, 63 pictures, and 17 apps. Connect the iPod to the computer and click on the iPod under Devices in iTunes. Near the botttom of the screen will be a colored bargraph showing the storage usage aon the iPOd. If the "other" categot is large, like above 1 GB you need to restore the iPod to get the "other" to its normal of about 0.25 to 0.75 GB. Sometimes a restore to factory defaults/new iPod is required.

You can't get a new color iPod for free. Unless you paint it (which I highly reccomend NOT doing), you must buy a new white iPod touch. You can't trade your iPod touch in for a white one.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

I run Windows 7 and the newest version (10.6) of iTunes will not install. The installer won't even begin, and when I run the Apple Software update, it tells me that iCloud and iTunes have invalid signature.

I've done everything short of reinstalling Windows to fix this (system resore, unistalling all Apple products, taking down firewall, running Windows FixIt - which either won't find the problem or gives me an error saying that the troubleshooter cannot be downloaded at this time, going into the security features to allow programs without valid signatures, trying to install earlier versions of iTunes). It all started when I downloaded the Decemberists new album on my iPhone, and it wasn't downloading it properly so I connected it to my Dell, but some songs still wouldn't DL - also, the newest OS for my iPhone still won't install via WiFi - and so I uninstalled iTunes first, but nothing is helping. Ok, so after like 4 days of going through all these different issues, I figured out that several programs weren't downloading, and it was an issue with my wireless connectivity messing up the digital signatures, so if you plug in your comp to the modem and delete your temp files, it should start to work!

Unfortunately once all the 3 iCloud accounts have been created on your device, you cannot create any more regardless of what you do. You will need to re-use one of the accounts that you have already created or create your new account on another device or computer.

There is a tech note on what to do when an install or update fails.
Often due to prior copies and cache of those on your system.
Some you have to uninstall but it will leave behind files and folders that then have to be manually removed.
Clone Windows just in case.
Run chkdsk
Cleanup
Use CCleaner or similar and repair the Registry might help too.
