Not through iCloud, but are they still on your iPad or iPhone? Open Photos, then go to the Albums and see if they are still in the main Camera Roll rather than My Photo Stream. If they are in there, it would be a good idea to sync the devices to a computer so you can store the photos.

Your Apple ID is tied to the US store. Log out of the store, then trying logging back in.

Amazing steps you've done so far! The great news is this is very unlikely an issue with your iPhone.
I've run into a similar issue lately as well. I narrowed it down to one song that was causing 30 songs not to sync. I removed the song from the sync list (unchecked it) and all 29 songs were able to sync.
You may be running into a similar issue. This may be a problem with this version of iTunes, an issue with one song or a group of songs; hard to know for sure. It's important to narrow down and isolate the cause. Most imporantly get that music back on there!
The way to narrow down the casue add just a few songs at a time (even 1, just to get that first sync finished). Manually syncing is what you'll need here.
Plug in your iPhone, on the Summary screen (shows a picture of your iPhone, the iOS version, Restore iPhone....; etc). Under the Options area at the bottom choose to Manually Manage Videos and Music then choose Apply in the lower right. The music that's on your iPhone now should be removed from your iPhone now. You're now able to sync music manually.
The link below explains how to drag the songs from the iTunes library on the computer on to your iPhone which will start the sync. Add just one song just to see if you can get 1 of those hundreds of songs on there. If you can, awesome! Keep adding until you find the song or group of songs that are causing this issue.

Did the message say what was corrupt. It is not clear from your description of "...it was corrupt" what "it" is. Sounds like the download of Lion was corrupt. Download it again. Downloaded files sometimes get corrupted due to network connection glitches or interruptions.

It did this to me too. I just went to Apple's website where you can download Itunes for free, and hit download again. It will ask you if you want to replace or fix the current version you have. Click yes and it will re-download and should work

No, Acrobat is not a word processor.
More to the point Acrobat lets one "work" PDF and PDF is not a file format designed as a word processing, editing, formating, or page layout file format.
PDF is, essentially, a "final destination" format.
What it is is described in the ISO Standard for PDF (ISO 32000-1).

Check out the article below to troubleshoot the issue of iTunes crashing on you upon startup. Start with seeing if you can start up in Safe Mode. If you are still having issues, try to open in Tunes in another user on your computer to see if the behavior still exists. If the tech didn't erase the Mac as I stated above, he hasn't properly prepared your Mac for a second hand owner. Nothing less that erasing the HDD and returning the Mac to the shipping version of OS X so you may set up the Mac as a new Mac will suffice. All Macs since the introduction of OS X lion have shipped with iLife apps from the Mac App Store installed for free. Prior to Lion, they shipped with the boxed version of the apps.
