HT4623 Why does our ipad 3 keep shutting down

Our Ipad 3 shuts down while using it, sometimes it resets and other times it does nothing. It is at the point to where you cannot even use it because it shuts down so much...less than two years old.

I would suggest a reset by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears if this was a once r twice occurrence, but since it happens repeatedly, I would just bite the bullet and restore the iOS software. If that doesn't help, make an appointment at an Apple Store and ask them to take a look at the iPad.
Your battery might be going, there could be a short ... Something hardware related that you would not be able to fix on your own.
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

  • Why does my AdobeBridge keep shutting down?

I have a PC and when I use the camera raw option it tells me that "Adobe Bridge CS6 has stopped working and needs to close". I just recently downloaded windows 8.1 upgrade, does that have anything to do with it? Any suggestions? It's really annoying as it's my main editor...

Low memory issues, app conflicts, something corrupt in the Safari cache .... It's hard to say for sure. Try these basic troubleshooting steps and see if any of them help. None of them will do any harm at all.
    1. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    3. Quit all apps completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
    4. Clear Safari. Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad.

  • Why does the iPad randomly shut down?

Why do both of my iPads shut down randomly?

I'm not sure. I didn't buy it, I won it in a contest at work and I don't have any of the reciepts or anything for it.

  • Why does my iPad 1 shut down then reboot by itself?

We have a first gen iPad that suddenly has begun shutting down by itself, then rebooting. Of course, it's just out of warranty (by 2 months). I've read some posts that suggest it is battery related, others that it is related to software. Any help from the experts out there would be great!

    Hi amy,
I really doubt it is battery related, as batteries usually last a few years, however in some rare occasions there could be some form of fault.
It sounds like maybe there are some dodgy connections inside the device, which only a repair can solve.
Try restoring your iPad in iTunes - Plug the device in, and click restore under the summary tab.
If this doesn't help, I reccomend heading to an Apple Store and booking a genius appointment - these are free even if you have no warentee. Here they can discuss options with you, and will offer you a discounted replacement price. As your warentee ran out so shortly before the problem arose, they may be able to offer an exemption, ask nicely!
    Regards,
    Nathan

  • HT4623 Why does my iPad keep bumping me off the app I am on.  Have to keep going back in over and over.

Why does my mini pad keep bumping me off apps and I have to completely go back in.?

App instability can usually be remedied by quitting all apps (Double tap the Home button and swipe the app preview page up)
    then
Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)

  • Why does my iPad randomly shut down and then restart?

This has only happened since the newest iOS update. It has also had problems with the wifi happening since the last 6 level update: randomly drops wifi signal etc.
What can I do? I've tried backing up and doing a factory restore, the problem doesn't resolve.

  • My iPad keeps shutting down out of all apps.

My iPad keeps shutting down out of all apps.  If on FB, camera, messages, etc.  It will just go to a black screen and then back to desk top.  Could it have a virus, what should I do?

    Hi iPaduser58,
If you haven't already done so, you may want to restart or reset the iPad:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
    Restarting your iOS device
    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
    2. After the device has turned off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Resetting your device
If your device stops responding, you can reset it by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If the above does not resolve your issue, the next best step will be to restore your iPad using a computer with iTunes. Please be sure to backup your iPad first.

  • Why does my ipad keep losing connection and kicking me out of apps?

Why does my ipad keep dropping apps while I am using them like facebook and facetime. It just disconnects and goes to the home screen. Very frustrating!

I have a MacBookPro...my wife has iPad2...and I do nothing with her iPad...
let me ask a dumb question reading here.  She plays a lot of Scrabble or word games...goes on Facebook, and has been complaining to me about the games crashing, bringing her sometimes back to the home page.
We followed one piece of advice given here...to hold the start and home buttons simultaneously and reboot.  This may work...we'll see.
But...on the advice concerning the apps.  When she holds down an App...they vibrate or shake, which I guess is a way to move an app about...drag it.  Saw no minus sign.  I guess we assumed the app was "closed" sitting dormant on the home screen...and so I know or understand (she not so computer literate), an app sitting on the homescreen is not necessarily closed?  Hitting home and bringing the desktop back up, is not necessarily closing out of the app?
    thanks...
