Just to close out ... the 'supervisor' was clueless as it turns out. Apple does NOT have a deal with UPS on handling the Mini, so the person who gave me the info was wrong. Did he call back? No ... he just let me go out and find out myself.
So I called again, and this time eventually ended up with a manager, who told me that the UPS Store thing wouldn't work, but that a box would arrive and then there would be a 'forced replacement'.
About 10 minutes later he called back and said he discovered that EVERYTHING the supervisor did was wrong ... he didn't actually properly flag for auto-replace, so I would have gone through an identical cycle again! So he had to restart the whole process, meaning I would get TWO 'coffins', but that I would then get an auto-replacement and would see that indicated in my support email.
I got the email, saw 'auto-replace'. Got the box on the 28th and immediately turned it around. Apple got the box on the 31st, and on the 1st I got emails that my Mini would arrive on the 2nd and it also had the new serial #.
Yesterday I grab the box from FedEx and go home to check it out. As expected, it IMMEDIATELY worked on my WiFi without issue ... and has worked perfectly since.
So ...
- it was NOT my home network.
- it WAS a hardware issue with the Mini
- Apple does NOT do proper testing on the Mini to detect what appears to be a fairly common issue.
- non-retail customers ARE treated as second-class by support.
This issue took FOUR WEEKS to resolve, involved FOUR shipments back & forth, and the ONLY reason it got resolved was that *I* did the troubleshooting that Apple either would not or could not do.
For someone who has been an Apple customer for more than 30 years, this has been a sobering experience ... I quite frankly expected much better from them.

You may have pop-ups blocked.
Go to Settings>Safari and turn "Block pop-ups" off. You may needs to restart the ipad after turning off this settings if it doesnt work immediately -

I had the same issue and i just resolved it, I have an iphone 4s and last night was al perfect and this morning i just verified that i had a new updated installed on my phone and my WiFi was disable and did restore as new like crazy until i did this after me being tired of restoring my phone from factory setting and then my lately back up on icloud i did my last move and it got fixed this is what i did ok.
STep #1 Do a back up manualy onto your cmputer throu itunes (NOT ICLOUD) ok
Step #2 after doing the the back up go and do on you phone or throu itunes do the factory reset setting and erase everything and make like new phone
Step #3 Leave yhe iphone conected to Itunes.
Step #4 Once your iphone is reset to factory setting on your Itunes Window will say NO SIM CARD DETECTED before clicking on your right up corner (DONE) slide your phone and it will appear conect to a network do the process and put the pasword of your WiFi and until it says conected,It will say (No Service) but it will be conected to WiFi then click on the Itunes Window (DONE)
Step #5 DO a back up recovery from the last back up you did onto your computer not Icloud ok!!
Step #6 after you recovered your phone from last back up on your computer it will atumaticaly have service and WiFi conection like before..
I hope i did explained well to you i did work for me after 7 hours of doing reset and back up =) -
I'm using iPhone 4S and it was working fast once I purchased and after few months I update my phone since to 7.0.1 since then neither my wifi is working nor my Bluetooth and even my phone is working slow, after than many new updates came I did but nothing works. I have a main router/firewall with two wireless routers(linksys E2500 and TP link) connected to it.I want to configure them to all be on the same LAN (192.168.19.0) so i experimented with the TP link first by removing the ethernet cable from the WAN port and inserting it in the LAN port then I disabled DHCP and it worked perfectly. The only downside is that i am getting slower speeds on the TP link compared to the linksys which is still on the 192.168.1.0 network.Ethernet also works fine though i've observed that the TPlink name displays on the ethernet NIC. Can the speed be increased one way or the other or i have to change my setup?

I have installed Thunderbird on my IMac and on my MacBook Pro. I have already completely set up Thunderbird on my MacBook Pro. How can I transfer all of my settings, bookmarks, etc., from my MacBook Pro to my IMac? Also, can I automatically keep both copies of Thunderbird synched so that changes on one computer are recognized on another computer.

I had no trouble getting on line until last week when a message came on that
IP address 192.168.0.139
was in use by

DHCP Server 192.168.0.1
Since that time, no matter if I plug it into one router or the other (I use a router in my office to share the one ethernet cable that comes down the hall) it claims that the ethernet is working and it knows that it is connected to the Internet,but it cannot access the Internet. IT seems to be stuck in a cycle of navel-gazing, constantly focused on its own ethernet IP address.
All I know how to do is operate the thing; we have no IT person here. A visitor set up our network for us a few years ago. Only the iMac has this problem; my PC laptops go online just fine. But all my work is on the iMac.First thing to try is renewing the DHCP lease.
System Preferences > Network.
Do you have a green dot next to Ethernet? If so, with ethernet selected in the left pane;
Check the location is set to 'automatic'
Check 'configure IPv4' is set to DHCP
Click the 'Advanced' button
Check that DHCP is selected in that window for IPv4
Turn off IPv6 (gives a conflict on some routers)
Click the button 'renew DHCP lease'
That should persuade the router to give you a different IP. -
I've downloaded a language course on to my iMac - where it sits on the desktop in two folders. I want to transfer it to the iPad, but syncing doesn't work when I click the folder and then the sync button. There is no app for this particular course. The audio consists of a number of MP3 files. How can I make it useable on the iPad ??
Launch iTunes on your computer and from the menu at the top go to File>Add to Library and then navigate to wherever the files are located on your desktop. Create a playlist in iTunes if you want to and then sync the playlist to the iPad. Play the files in the Music App on the iPad.

my somewhat old imac osx 10.5.8 with iphoto '08 will not read my RAW files from my new Nikon D800 camera - a new model on the market( 5 months or so). How can I get iphoto to read my RAW files?
iPhoto 08 would not read RAW files from that new a camera. You need to upgrade so you can get more up-to-date version of OS X and iPhoto. Another possiblity is see if iPhoto 11 will run on 10.5.8, if so you should update. You can also attempt to run Software Update and see if it finds a newer release of iPhoto 08 that supports newer RAW formats.
