Pages not opening documents changed on imac......trying to open on original ipad using ios5.1.1 ( highest upgrade compatible with this ipad) how can i open new pages documents in pages?
King Penguin is correct. I have the original version of the iPad and I use Pages. If you want the update you will have to download and install the latest version of iTunes which is iTunes 10.5, then update the iOS on your iPad to iOS 5. Then you can download the update for Pages.

After Mavericks, Keynote, Numbers and Pages don't update to latest version.
OK, I already had the latest Keynote, Numbers and Pages installed for Snow Leopard.
I have upgraded to Mavericks and then updated those softwares.
The thing is that those won't update to the latest versions. When I open any of them it shows the previous (old) version and not Keynote 6, Pages 5 and Numbers 3.
Any ideas?Marcos, the Keynote, Numbers and Pages are not replacing the old version. if you have updated through the AppStore you have the new version and the old version installed in your computer!
Go to the spotlight search and type the name Keynote, Numbers and Pages and you will see the icon of the new and old app. double click the new icon and voila you have the new version of the iWorks. -

Eek! I don't know how I save as a file, so no. As for iCloud , I did back up last week but am not too sure if it was before or after the update. I don't even know know how to find out what was backed up on iCloud. I will look in to that now. Thankyou.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

I have the original ipad (OS 5.1.1) using pages 1.7.2 and backing up to icloud. If I open up one of the docs from icloud, I can no longer open it on my ipad. Looks like the pages version gets updated to a version that is incompatible with my ipad. Is there anyway stopping icloud from changing the version and is there a way to recover the old version of the document on my ipad?
Upgrade to Snow Leopard - it's compatible with the latest version of iTunes, and still supports PowerPC applications.

Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard. -
my Itunes account tells me i need to update it to version 10.6.1, but when I click download and the computer (mac 2007) goes to the "checking for softwares" page it doesn't find the update? Help me please, what do I do?

My Safari browser is not working well. Junk pages keep popping up and key pages, for me, appear intoxicated by alien pop ups preventing me navigate that page.
I updated to latest Safari version (7.0.4) but the problem persists.
I tried downloading a new version of Safari for Mac OS X Mavericks but couldn't find it available.
Thanks for your help.The pop ups are malware. It's not necessary to reinstall Safari.

Just so you are aware, on a Mac running Mavericks, the only way to reinstal Safari to to restore OS X using OS X Recovery -
yahoo is my home page. I updated to the new version of firefox per yahoo and now my tool bar has changed.
I want the old tool bar back? The old one had an X when I wanted to stop something (I just clicked on the X). Also, the old toolbar has a "home" that I clicked on and it went staight back to yahoo main pageNot sure whether for instance you initially had a Yahoo optimised version of Firefox, and have now overwritten it with an official Mozilla version. Although the Mozilla version should NOT add unwanted features, but the Yahoo version may well do.
If you merely need to find the Yahoo emails page quickly just add it as a bookmark or as a bookmark on the Bookmarks toolbar and make sure that is visible.
Clicking the star icon on the location bar whilst looking at your emails will bookmark the page.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.
If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
If that doesn't work:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

After updating to OS X Maverick my Pages app reverted to the previous version.
After updating to OS X Maverick my Pages app reverted to the previous version (4.9) and now I can't update to the latest version (5.0) of Pages. When I check updates it says that I have the latest version (5.0) of Pages. How can i get the update app to allow me to update?
Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.

I desperately would like to update Firefox to version 10 from version 9 but each time I try, I am stuck with FF10 checking addons for compatability and the Welcome page opening every time I start the browser. I continue to have to revert to version 9 to resolve this issue.Sorry to be a while getting back! Tried all of that with no sucess so this AM, bit the bullet and deleted the FF folder from programs and downloaded and installed FF 10.01. Still was plagued with the same problem. Went into the appdata folder and there were two sessionstore.js files. Deleted them both, restarted the browser and no compatibility check for add-ons was done at start up and the extra tab for Welcome to FF was no longer opening Everything seems to be working as it should and I did not loose any of my settings.. Thank you for trying to help and I hope my solution helps anyone else who might experience this in the future. Here's hoping the next update goes smoother!

pages just won't load in versions after 5.0. They load fine in any other browser, including Firefox 5.0. I'd really like to upgrade.
Unfortunately I tried that and it didn't work. Thanks for the help though. I tried to uninstall and it said I couldn't because the file is corrupt or something, but I think I finally got it uninstalled and/or deleted or whatever, but now I try to reinstall/download it again from the beginning and I can't. No matter what I do I can not get Firefox working again. No matter how many times I try to redownload it. Any other suggestions?

Why can't I update my current version of iTunes 10 to version 11, keep getting error message "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is un available"

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

OK. So - Keynote and Numbers recently updated in late January, but not Pages. Today (18 February), I tried to open a Pages file and it won't open. The error message says that I need a newer version of Pages to open this document. I check and my version of Pages is 5.0. The app store says the latest version is 5.1 but it also tells me I have no updates available and I can't update or reinstall it because the button in the App Store just says "installed" for Pages.
Can anyone help please??
First off, why does Pages refuse to update? And, how can a simple upgrade from 5.0 to 5.1 immediately and automatically render my old documents UNOPENABLE? This is so ridiculous. I want to cry/scream because I'm wasting hours and hours now trying to open this one document.
