Probably not. You'd need to go somewhere that Internet isn't on a locked-down wireless network.

Many thanks JEM24 for your help. Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone the actual cost of each additional gigabyte of storage to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. Capsule but since I already have a wireless router I need suggestions on

A complication that I need to resolve is the fact that I am using Vmware
Fusion to be able to use Windows on my Mac. Now it seems that Time
Machine is not backing up my files
on that virtual Windows without additional configuration and my question
is whether you can advise me here or whether this is only a matter for
the Fusion virtual machine.If you want to use Time Capsule you can.. you simply bridge it and plug it into the existing router.. wireless can be either turned off or used to reinforce the existing wireless.. eg use 5ghz in the TC which is much faster than your 2.4ghz.
You can also use a NAS.. many brands available but the top brands are synology, qnap and netgear readynas series. These will all do Time Machine backups although how well always depends on Apple sticking to a standard. There are cheaper ones.. I bought a single disk zyxel which was rebadged and sold through my local supermarket. It actually works very well for TM at least on Snow Leopard. Major changes were made in Lion and again ML so do not instantly think it will work on later versions. I haven't tried it yet with those versions.
Any external drive can be plugged into the mac. Use the one with the fastest connection or cheapest price according to your budget. USB2 drives are cheap and plentiful. But no where near as fast as USB3 or FW800. So just pick whichever suits the ports on your Mac. Interesting Apple finally moved to USB3 on their latest computers.
TM should exclude the VM partition file.. it is useless backing it up from Mac OS side.. and will slow TM as it needs to backup that partition everyday for no purpose.. TM cannot see the files inside it to backup just the changes.
You need to backup windows from windows. Use MSbackup to external drive.. if you have pro or ultimate versions you can backup to network drive. But MSbackup is a dog.. at least until the latest version it cannot restore the partition without first loading windows. There are about a zillion backup software versions for windows.. look up reviews and buy one which works for you. I use a free one Macrium Reflect which does full disk backups and is easy to restore.. to do incremental backups though you have to pay for it. -
I have several friends and family who are looking for a central place to access information from ( Pictures, home movies etc ). So I am considering setting up an OSX Lion Server. There are some other things I can use it for as well.
Here is my question:
If I were to purchase the Apple Remote Desktop with Unlimited licenses, would I be able to install the client software on each of there computers/laptops and have them remote desktop into the server? Or would I have to install the Admin software on each? Do they intend it to be used strictly as one admin to access many clients?
I always could set up a network drive so they can log in and just see the folders they have created with space on the server I provide them. But I want them to be able to log an and actually use it as a Remote Desktop.

Thanks for the feedback. I understand that ARD is meant for Remote Administration, but I was not sure if it could be used for my purpose as well. The reason I was looking to do it this was was because I read several articles online about security and performance issues with setting up VNC and activating screen sharing. Unless I am misunderstood.
As far as people's activities on the server, mostly it is going to be used as a place for them to store their media. I will only allow own person ( Who I trust and I know wont botch the server ), to run applications. Everyone else will be restricted to uploading and downloading content to their designated account on the server as well as a community share on the server.

I have the 1st generation ipod touch i installed an update which now it is 3.1.3 version i was able to put my apps on it but when i want to use the apps it will not let me use them. What do i need to do?
Does it happen with the apps that came with the iPod?
Does it happen with all apps you have downloaded/installed?
Have you ried deleting the apps and redownload/install the apps? You will not be charged again if you are signed into the same iTunes account that originally purchased the apps.
Next would be to restore from backup
Last would be to restore to factory defaults/new iPod. -

Both iPhones use the same size SIM Cards. You will be able to simply transfer the iPhone 5 SIM Card to the iPhone 5C SIM Card Tray.

I am having a problem changing a color in a selected area. Using the Quick Selection tool I am able to select the area I wish to change. Using the Brush tool, color, color mode and click drag in my selected area, nothing happens, no color changes. I have viewed some videos and read numerous articles but haven't found the one to help me. Please point me in the best direction. Thank you Vincent TC
For the sake of clarity and to save people time, Todd is asking about the behaviour of the Patch tool when using it to repair the area next to the young lad's head. Todd gets a blurred dark tone pretty much regardless of the options he uses.
IMO that's what I would expect to happen because of the close proximity of the other image elements i.e. the lad's neck and the strong lines of his shirt. I would not choose to use the Patch tool in this situation. Content Aware Fill makes a better stab at it. -

Macbook Air solders memory onto the motherboard. It cannot be upgraded.
Macbook Pro has memory slots that allow SODIMMs (the memory cards) to be replaced, up to the limit of the motherboard.
My 15 in MBP can upgrade to 16 GB. But 16 GB for my machine is still $600 at cheapest. I will be staying at 8 GB for a while. -
I just got a Mac and I use the same internet connection as my mom and my brother, who has an iPad. He can click on something that has my name and then Macbook Air, and is able to see everything on my computer screen. How do I fix this so he cant see what i am doing on my computer?
No, I made sure nothing was checked for that section when i found out he could see my screen. At the top it says "computers on your local network can access your computer at: blah blah". I think thats how hes doing it but i dont know how to fix it.

No, this doesn't work directly from the Apple TV. However if you play the radio station from your computer you can send it via airplay to both devices, thereby achieving what you require. -

Where did you find that offer? You have to assess the offer and see how it applies to your circumstances. If zero interest is offered then you have to respond to that particular offer.

You will need to sign up for your own Apple ID and then buy and download Lion by calling Apple and getting a redemption code.
