II'm in the same situation. Purchased a refurbished IPhone 5. I had to do a factory reset and when I reset it again, itunes tells me that the phone is linked to someone else. Called the company I bought the phone from and they say iTunes can do a master reset to link my iTunes account to the phone. Have any of you heard of this being possible?

The problem is that the icloud account will not display my new appleID, only the old appleID, the appleID displayed can’t be selected or edited. 1) The devices will not let me delete the account(s) without entering a password, but my apple ID password is associated with new appleID, not the old one. Question: How can an old login be removed, deleted or revised from Icloud when it no longer exist??

If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Repeat this on your other devices. Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Not sure what you mean by "reset" your iCloud account, but if you want to clean up other data, just delete it from the apps on your phone that are syncing with iCloud, or from icloud.com. They will be simultaneously deleted from iCloud and any devices syncing with iCloud.
Similarly, if you delete photos from your my photo stream album, they will be deleted from your photo steam and any devices connected to your photo stream. If you want to save them first, open the my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos to select them, tap Edit, tap Save to Camera Roll.

To do this on someone else's device that already has an iCloud account without them losing any data do the following:
First have them save any photo stream photos that are over 30 days to their camera roll by opening the my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.
Go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, and choose Delete from My iPhone (iPad, iPod). Their iCloud data will still be in iCloud and will reappear on their device when they sign back in.
Go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your Apple ID to create your new account. Do not turn on any data syncing with the account and do not choose Merge with iCloud as you do not want to merge any of their data with your new account.
Tap Delete Account to delete your new account from their device, then have them sign back in with their ID and their iCloud data will reappear on their device.
You can then go to Settings>iCloud on your device and sign into the new iCloud account that you just created.

To change the ID for iCloud you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the ID you want to use. Deleting the account only deletes the account and your synced data from your iPad, not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account your data will be synced back to your iPad when you sign back in. If, on the other hand, you are changing to a new account and need to migrate your data to the new account, be sure to choose Keep on My iPad when prompted, then choose Merge when your enable syncing with the new account to upload your data.
If you want to save your photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll before deleting the account (tap Edit, tap all the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll).

I am now using another Apple ID.
My Ipad when updated into iOS8, always ask me to key in the password for the old ICloud account, this is very irritated.

If the old Apple ID keep popping up maybe because you have apps that uses that Apple ID.
You need to delete those apps and re-purchase them again using the new Apple ID.

I was wondering how to remove an old icloud account. I have an iphone 4s, (ios 8.1.3). a pop up keeps coming up saying to sign into your icloud account, but it is under an old email that has been deactivated for years. I have a new icloud account, but I dont know how to sign into it on my device, because when i open icloud on my device, it says "sign into ********* and everything is grey (unclickable), including the Sign Out button at the bottom. I have no idea what to do now. please help
