HT4959 How do I get Apple Mobile Device USB driver?

How do I obtain an Apple Mobile Device USB driver as without it I cannot load 10.6.1?

Install iTunes. 10.6.1 refers to a version of iTunes. 5.1.1 is the current version of iOS. I assume what you mean is you can't update your phone to 5.1.1.
You need to clarify what you have and what you are trying to do. Your profile says you have an iPhone 4S with iOS 4.3.3, which is physically impossible. All iPhone 4S's come with at least iOS 5.0

  • How do i install Apple Mobile Device USB driver

I have just bought an ipad 2 and cannot connect to itunes - various messages tell me to ensure Apple mobile driver is installed - how do i do that?

    Hope you got this fixed.
I just fixed my ipod nano problem on my own and figured I'd share as I have just spent the last 4 hours trying to trouble shoot all of Apple's problems...following everyone's tips...nothing worked until I figured it out on my own.
I'm running windows 7 and have an Ipod Nano (6th Gen).  Hard drive crashed on computer.  Replaced HD.  Everything works fine now.  Downloaded iTunes along with all other programs.  Nano wouldn't show up or sync on iTunes.  Said Device Driver Software was not successfully installed (some USB problems).  Tried everything.  Finally, I figured it out.
Disconnect Nano.  Uninstall iTunes AS WELL AS Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Apple Software Update.  Apple only tells you to uninstall iTunes and reinstall..restart computer bla bla bla.  I said screw it and uninstalled all Apple programs (well, the listed ones above).  I hooked up my nano to my computer to make sure the device manager recognized it without anything else plugged in...and it did.  I unplugged it.  Reinstall iTunes and all three other Apple programs listed above will also reinstall.  I opened iTunes and plugged in my nano.  It started with the "installing device driver software" and I was sure it wasn't going to work.  Well, it did work.  My nano showed up in the upper right bar of iTunes and synced.  Unreal...  I unplugged my nano and plugged in the wife's.  Once again, "installing device driver software."  Voila!  Her's showed up and synced too.  I plugged mine back it to make sure it worked and it did.  I'm done.  It's working.  Hope these steps work for you as well.

After I updates ITunes to the latest version (12), ITunes wont find my iphone and Ipad anymore, after searching I found that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed anymore, on the support website of Apple it doesnt explain how to solve this,.
I use Windows 8.1 and so now also ITunes 12, both my Iphone 4S and Ipad Air have the latest IOS version.
I hope anybody can tell me how to solve this that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is back, thank you

Found a possible solution for me.
While the phone was plugged into my computer and iTunes is CLOSED.
    1. I went to Services in Windows.
    2. I selected Apple Mobile Device and right clicked and selected "Stop".
    3. Then I right-clicked again and selected "Start".
    4. Then I went to Device Manager and right clicked my iPhone with the yellow alert icon and selected "Uninstall".  You will get a warning about uninstalling the device.  Click OK.
    5.  At the top of Device Manager I clicked the Action menu and selected "Scan for Hardware Changes".
This re-installed the iPhone and everything started working again.

  • I know that my Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is missing. It won´t reinstall or update the software. Where can I get the software so I can synch my Ipod nano again?

I know that my Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is missing. When i try to reinstall it in the device manager it says that one of the installers is unable to reinstall the software. I don´t know where to look for the software to get the driver going again, so please help if you´ve got any solutions to my problem. I´ve spent hours and hours looking in the internet but i couldnt find anything helpful. PLEASE HELP
PS: I´ve got a Windows 7 PC so the guy from the Apple Store refused to help me

You need to completely uninstall iTunes from your computer and then download and install it again.
You do know that Microsoft has a web site, right?

  • WTH!!!! Keep getting msg bubble "APPLE MOBILE DEVICE USB DRIVER"????

I have wrecked my brain on this one! I have 4 different types of ipods that are being connected to my computer. The one I keep getting the message on is the Nano 3rd gen. The others are an 80 GB and 2 GB that are being recognized on WinXp and ITunes. Everytime the Nano is attached it's recognized by WinXP but not in ITunes. The bubble says "Found new hardware - APPLE MOBILE DEVICE USB DRIVER" Then the other bubble says "Found new hardware - USB MASS STORAGE DRIVER". I then get the window that says CANT INSTALL THE DRIVERS. I have followed the "support" directions on uninstall re-install, update drivers, roll back drivers and whatever else they have on this website. It was working fine until a Touch was plugged in to my computer. Anyone else going through this BS? I don't know what to do. I may try to roll back my system and see if that works. ANYONE WITH A SOLUTION PLEASE HELP!! I am quite irritated now!

ok sooo I tried to restore my computer...that didnt work. Next I dl that Mobile Me that was offered on the apple update. Didnt work. Then I said forget it and dl ITunes on a completely different computer that never had ITunes on it. Guess what....it worked and recognized my nano and the other 2 I have. I believe that there must be a registry file that is not getting overwritten or deleted completely somewhere along the process of uninstallation or maybe something else isnt getting changed somewhere. Im not that computer savvy but if someone can find what the problem is, let me everyone know.

  • TS1538 What do I do after step 6 in "If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed"?

i'm very confused about step 5, "Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed" > "If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed", what do I do after step 6? I looked for and found the entry that recognizes the device as a camera, "Apple iPhone, now what? I'm trying to resolve an issue. After an iTunes upgrade in July 2012, I have not been able to get my iTunes to recognize any of my devices. I have uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes, all the steps. Now I'm on this one and I don't know what to do after this step 6. I looked and found the entry.... now what??? I am out of room on my phone because everything I buy on iTunes on the computer mysteriously appears on my iPhone 4, and everything I buy on my iPhone mysteriously uploads onto my iTunes the next time I open it. My phone will charge when connected to the computer, and Windows recognizes it and asks how I want to open pictures, etc. But in iTunes it will not show up under Devices. This is getting beyond ridiculous and I have to get some of this music off of my phone!

Found a possible solution for me.
While the phone was plugged into my computer and iTunes is CLOSED.

  • Apple mobile device USB Driver won't install (Code 37) on my 7th Generation iPod Nano

As a result, iTunes won't detect my iPod. But the iPod will charge when I plug it in to my comp, and there is an iPod folder in "My Computer". But after installing iTunes, it no longer says “connected” on the iPod (even though it still charges it). And, in Device manager, there is a yellow exclamation mark that appears in the DVD/CD-ROM drive directly after installing iTunes – there is also a yellow mark next to “Apple mobile device USB Driver” when my iPod is plugged in. For both, it says “Code 37.” I know how to fix the DVD/CD-ROM drive problem (by deleting the filters) but the Apple driver still won't install after that. I've tried troubling shooting this. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, but it hasn't made a difference. And I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes multiple times, too, and every time I reinstall iTunes the same thing happens: my iPod no longer says “connected on the screen,” and the  DVD/CD-ROM drive gets code 37 again. Also, I tried different USB cables/ports.
Any help of suggestions would be greatly appreciated. And I think I've already read a lot of troubleshooting guides on this site, but haven't had any success so far.

Sorry, I'm confused. What do you mean by “leaving all other USB devices disconnected”? Does that include my mouse, keyboard, etc? And does that mean I uninstall those things in the device manager?

  • Missing Apple Mobile Device USB Driver Missing From My Device Manager

Hi Everyone, My Apple Mobile Device Usb Driver Does'nt Show up in my Device Manager. But when i go Control panel>> Admin Tools>> Services its there but when i go Start>>Run type in devmgmt.msc an the device manager comes up an under the heading Universal Control Bus Contoller the Apple mobile device usb driver is suppoed to appear but it doesnt all my other usb attached devices do how do i fix this problem?????

For what it's worth. I had the same problem, and here is how I fixed.
I downloaded Roxio Uninstaller and deleted everything Apple.  Itunes, Bonjour, Apple Mobile Divce Manager, and Safari, everything get rid of it all.  the good thing about roxio is that you can scan for anything that the program uninstaller missed.
Then I down loaded itunes again and Whalaa!  It now works.

  • Cannot install Apple Mobile Device USB Driver

When I open iTunes my iPhone 4S will not show up as a device. I have tried the advice provided by Apple. I have gone through the iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant. That gave no solutions. I have tried the other solutions offered by Apple. I think that I have possibly identified the problem. As far as I know the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not installed on my computer. I have tried to install it but when I do I receive an error message. I repeat the entire error message in the following paragraph. The message appears in a dialogue box with the name: "Update Driver Software - iPhone".
"Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device. Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. Apple Mobile Device USB Driver. Access is denied. If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software."
I cannot find a solution to this problem on Apple's website. How can I get this driver installed?
My version of iTunes is current. My PC's operating system is Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2.

if you haven't resolved that issue , i had the same problem and after 2 days working on it i found a solution , windows security wasn't letting me chage permisions or install any new software here's what i did :
    1- control panel
    2- system and security
3- under windows  firewall click on allow a program over windows firewall
4- what i did was click on every single box there is on private not public
5- click accept , after i  went to device manager right click iphone update driver  , you shouldn't have the access denied anymore

  • Apple mobile device usb driver

Purchased an iPhone4 (not S) a week ago.  On initial attempt to sync to iTunes, phone did not show up in left pane of window.  Called Apple support and after an hour of fruitless attempts to resolve by trying other USB ports, etc., was advised to unistall iTunes and all other Apple software in a very specific order and then reinstall.  Following reinstall, phone was recognized and iTunes opened when phone was connected.  However, since then, phone has failed to connect numerous times and only way I can get it to connect (other than unistalling and reinstalling all software again, which i have done twice more) is to open device Manager and unistall the apple mobile device usb driver, plug in the phone and then it reinstalls the driver and all is well until the next sync.  Needless to say, this is a pain in the butt each time I want to sync.
Anyone have any ideas??  Running Windows XP Home on a P4 Dell system.

    Hi jfsleo,
If you are unable to update your iPhone and are currently seeing a screen directing you to connect to iTunes, you may find the following article helpful:

  • Apple Mobile Device USB Driver (CODE 52 Error)

I've been trying to sync my ipod touch with my laptop computer. I recently updated my version of iTunes, and now can not get my ipod to sync with my computer. The problem is in the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver. The error I am getting is a Code 52 error which states: "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source."  I've tried uninstalling the USB driver along with iTunes and all the related software. I have a windows 7 notebook. Any help resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.
