I studied abroad and my computer broke during the trip. I eventually got another computer after I came home. I can no longer access iTunes on that computer, but I still have all my music/photos/apps on my iPhone. But if I try to sync my phone to the newly downloaded iTunes on this new computer, it wants to erase everything. Is there a way I can have all my music back on iTunes without losing it off my phone? My phone is the only place I have it!
If it's all purchased content, it's really simple. If not, then not so simple.

If they aren't purchased from iTunes, then you are going to have to find them and download them onto your computer and back into your iTunes library.
You can turn off photo syncing, and import the ones from your phone onto your computer.

You won't lose everything on your iPhone when syncing with an empty iTunes library, but you will lose all iTunes content on your iPhone, and the same for photos on your iPhone that were transferred from your computer.
This is just one of the reasons why maintaining a backup of all important data on your computer's hard drive is important - stored on an external drive or some other external media used for backup purposes only, which should include your iTunes library. The iPhone is not designed or intended to be a backup storage device.

iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content from an iPod, iPad, or iPhone that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to re-authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone. This should include all 3rd party apps on your iPhone. -

Your help would be greatly appreciated.They should be in your itunes media folder. Use an external hard drive and just copy that to your new computer. I'm sure there's an easier way like this one (iTunes>File>Library>Export Library>External Hard Drive) but I never tried it before. Anyways, once that's done, just simply authorize your itunes account to play music you bought on to the new computer.

My computer crashed and I downloaded Itunes on a new computer and I'm trying to download new music to my ipod and a message comes up thatsays 'my ipod is synced with another Itunes library' {obviously my dead computer} and I can either 'Erase and Sync or Transfer Itunes purchases'. My computer won't charge my ipod or recognize that it's there, now my ipod is out of battery, won't turn on, and to put it plainly, won't work. I cannot find my wall charger and the ipod will not reocognize anything as a power source so it won't charge...How do I make my computer recognize my ipod....it's only a couple of months old so the batttery probably isn't completely dead.
do you have any other usb devices? try plugging one in and see if it works, and that the computer recognizes it (digital camera, printer, bluetooth mouse/keyboard, memory stick). The computer should recognize any device. If not, the computer is at fault. First thing I'd do is buy an external charger, one that fits a 110 electrical outlet or something for the car. But thats just me because I cant live without the ipod.
One more thought - do you plug the ipod into the computer via a usb hub?? sometimes hubs starve the device of power which can stop them from being recognized. I had that problem with a camera. Unplugged the hub, plugged the camera directly to the pcs usb port and it worked. -
I have 3 iTunes libraries on my one one computer and since I updated to the new version I can no longer see who's library I am in. It used to show at the top of iTunes the name of the library I was in. Is there a way I can tell which library I am in without closing and reopening?
No. Frequently the apps take up more storage space on the iPod that the file download size.

The other day I tried to open a document on my Pages app on my iPad. I soon notice I could no longer see it anywhere is my documents. I opened my laptop and went to iCloud.com to search for it there. On iCloud.com I am able to see the document but I can not do anything with it. I tried downloading it to my computer as a pdf. file but it just says error and to try again. I was able to copy the document but it does not allow me to download the copied document either. Is there some way I can recover the document or a pervious version of the document?
How are you seeing your document on iCloud from your laptop? Web browser, or OS X Pages open dialog?
If you have MS Word or .pages formatted files parked on iCloud, the web interface will not permit their download as PDF, and in fact, PDF is an inactive option in that download menu for these word processing files. There is no copy facility available, but duplicate functionality exists from the iWork category within the iCloud web presence.
If you have Pages v4.2 or later installed on your (assumption: Mac) laptop, launch Pages and in the open file dialog, select iCloud on the dialog toolbar. Now, press and hold the option key as you drag and drop a copy of our document from iCloud to your desktop. The reverse works also.
See if you can open that document on your laptop now. -

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to move everything to your new computer. -
my ipod was registered to my old computer which i no longer have. I now have a new computer and would like to add songs to my ipod however when i try to import songs to my ipod i get an error message that states, "This ipod is registered to another computer." Does anyone know how i can import new songs to my ipod without losing all the songs currently on my ipod?

No. iTunes will first erase everything from another computer. It is designed to work that way.
