  • I had to reset my iPhone. How do I get my apps and music back?

I had to reset my iPhone. How do I get my apps and music back? It is backed up on iCloud.  Thanks

Restore it from your iCloud backup. Here are the instructions:
iCloud: Restore your iOS device from iCloud
Expect it to take a long time, several hours if you purchased many apps and / or songs.

  • I just downloaded the new iOS 5.0 and did all of the backup prompted steps beforehand, but I can't figure out how to get all of my apps and music back on my iPhone. Where did they go and how can I put them back on my iPhone?

    Hi, Abril_Perez17.
This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default.  Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.  See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled.  This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

  • How can I get my music back onto my iPhone from the the cloud

I have a new primary PC.  My music Library is on an old dying laptop.  I have found all my music has disappeared from my phone.  Some is on the cloud, but it appears to only be the music purchased on iTunes, only about 1/3 of my collection.  Now I find all the songs on my iPhone are ONLY iTunes songs and I have to download them each time I want to play them.  Since I'm in a regional area with poor coverage, having to download my own songs every time through cellular is ridiculous! How can I copy my entire collection back onto my iPhone?  And then where's the rest of my collection?  Will I have to rip all my cd's again? If so NOT HAPPY AT ALL. Have also lost all my ringtones which were a Podcast that WAS purchased through iTunes - now gone.

I did this last night, and copied all the music from old laptop onto new one.  But there was still a lot of stuff missing, mainly from my own CDs that I'd ripped.  Also I'm still getting the icon on my iPhone that the music is on the iCloud. This doesn't suit me because it will cost me a fortune to download each song by cellular when I'm out driving.  I need all my stuff on my iphone.  Do you know how I can get it to download everything i need apart from clicking on every album and selecting "download" from cloud one at a time?

  • How can i get my apps and music back after upgrading to ios5? i back up my iphone and sync it. only contacts and settings are the same now..

    above

Music is never sync'd back across, its always done manually. Apps should automatically sync back across after you restore from backup.

  • To user accounts - how to merge without loosing apps and music?

On the family Windows computer we have a couple of user profiles (correct term?). The kids each set up their own and me and the Ms. share one. I have an itunes account and there is also one on one of my childs profile. They are both tied to the same itunes/apple store account, but have different collections.
My son has an Ipod Touch and is finding that he can't sync because if he does there is a message that he will loose apps and music (or something like that). He mostly downloads via his Touch. He has lost a few songs when he tried to sync to back up.
Basically he would like to be able to sync and backup his Touch.
Any thoughts on how he can do this without loosing apps and music?

I assume you mean your itunes library ( music.etc) as your account is only a username and password.
Type "move itunes library" into the google search bar.

    - For other music you will need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
    - Then connct the iPod to the computr and make a backup by right clicking on the Pod under devices in iTunes and select Backu Up
    - Restore from that backup.
Note the backup does not contain apps, music and other synced items.

the following post by Zevoneer in this thread http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8794716 says it all:
Did you back up your purchases before you you reinstalled your system? If you erased your drive then the purchases will have been erased along with everything else. If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from (as you are advised to do) then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on this link you'll be able to email your query: iTMS Customer Service
If you have an iPod that still has the purchases on it the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

  • How do i get the apps and music back on my iPod 4th generation after restoring it?

My ipod touch 4th generation was being really slow and crashing on almost every app. I have had it for 1 and a half years. I decided to back everything up and restore it . This worked almost flawlessly; the problem is that i have lost my apps and music.I still have my photos and contacts and the background is the same and the wifi automatically connected. Is there anything i can do or will i just have to download all the apps and music again? Thankyou

If not in your iTunes library
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

I share an iTunes account with my daughter, I just got an ipad and need to set up with my own I'd for iCloud sync  how can I keep my apps and music?

    ColleenMcG wrote:
You can continue to share the same iTunes account ID with your daughter and set up a separate iCloud account with a different ID.
=> is this a different iCloud account for each device?  I thought iCloud account ID had to match some iTunes account ID, for which we only have one i Tunes account?
You need to set up a separate iCloud account for each person that does not want to share their iCloud data.  If you share an iCloud account with someone, any data you both sync with the shared account is merged, and you end up with each other's data on your device(s).  If, for example, you owned two devices and someone else in the family also owned two devices, you would both want your own iCloud accounts, and you would each set up your personal iCloud account on the two devices you own.  In other words, you want a separate iCloud account for each person to be used on the devices they own.  Each iCloud account has to have a separate Apple ID.  The ID does not need to be the same as the ID used for iTunes.  Many families perfer to share the same iTunes account/ID, but maintain separate iCloud accounts with different IDs to keep there data separated.

=> what ID, iTunes?  So I can have a separate iCloud account "only" ID which I also assume must be some [valid] email address?  The children currently do not have email accounts anywhere.
Yes, I was referring to the iTunes ID not needing to be the same as the ID used for iCloud.  In order to set up an Apple ID your children will need to have a valid email address that can be verified by Apple.  Apple requires this so they have a way of contacting the owner if there is a problem with the account, such as when you may need to reset the password on the account.  When you set up the ID, Apple will send a verification email to this email account and you will need to click on the verificating link in the email to complete the process.  If they don't currently have an email account you can just set one up with gmail or another free email hosting service.  They don't have to use the account but you will need it to set up the ID.

  • How do I transfer my apps and music to a new computer

How do I transfer my apps and music to a new computer?  I have authorized my Computer, but when I connect the ipod, it only comes up with the message box "Erase and sync.", I don't get the option to transfer my music and apps onto the Computer.  How can this be achived?  I really don't want the Computer to wipe my ipod.  Any help much appreciated.

    - Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - For other music you need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
    Copy music
    - Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.
    - Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not include media like app and music.

  • HT1766 how do i get my apps and photos back to my i pod touch after I have updated my device?

how do i transfer my apps and music from my itunes account back to my i pod touch?

    - You can resync apps and synced photos to the iPod.
    - You can redownload app and other other iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    - If the photos were taken by or saved to the iPod restore the iPod from your iPod backup.
iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring iOS software
Note: That if you update your iPod on a computer and the synced media like apps, music and synced photos are not on the computer they will be erased from the iPod and will not be on the computer either.

  • I need my apps, and music back. How do I get it

I need my Apps, and music back. How do I get them back? I backed them up with ICloud and skipped the get your stuff process.. I need help. I can't restore my iPad again.. Or I'll forget my internet password.

    Hello Hunter107
In order to restore from an iCloud backup it will have to erase what is currently on your iPad and then follow the prompts to restore from that back up. In erasing you will be asked for your routers password to access the internet and then downloading your backup. Once that back is back on, you should not have to enter it again.
