can anyone help me please, my ipod had an update so i clicked install it did all the usual stuff but when it came back on ther was the itunes icon and an arrow pointing to it coming from a usb lead the ipod is frozen it wont do a thing iv tried turning it off an on aqn resetting it but its still the same can anyone tell me what to do? at the min iv got it plugged into my laptop via a usb
The screen is telling you to connect the iPod to your computer and restore via iTunes.

No one here said anything about an update or your device needing it.
FYI, you are not addressing Apple here, we are all users like yourself.
If the device is in recovery mode, the only option is to restore it. All data on the device is gone. This should not be an issue if the device has been used as designed and regularly synced/backed up. -
i am terribly confused i did an update on my ipod touch i took it out of my usb port i played on it 4 a bit i locked the screen and i wanted to unlock it when it flashed and now it wont turn on !!
- See if resetting the iod helps.

Hello, well im having some problems with my ipod 4th gen it will not turn on and when i plug it in to itunes it will not come up saying i need to restore. when i try that it will not complet. the ipod will not do anything at all... please help me i havent got extra money to spend..

Try to force your phone into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the computer's USB cord. Turn it off if you can by holding the sleep/wake switch until you see the red slide to off. If you can't turn it off, please continue. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. Did OS update ruin my iPod Touch?
Since updating the OS on his iPodTouch last night, the iPod is no longer recognized by any computer and only shows the screen showing it needs to be plugged into iTunes. I did that but iTunes and my PC never recognized that the iPod was plugged in. Did the update ruin my iPod???? Does Apple repair/replace in these instances?

I`m sorry to hear that your Ipod has been wrecked and needs to be plugged into Itunes. I will try my best to help with your problem!
Try the following things:
-Hold down the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 sec. or until Apple Logo appears
-Did you try connecting it to a different computer? Maybe the computer doesnt recognize it, but maybe another computer might?
-Restart the computer. Sometimes this happens to me, it says plug it into Itunes, and then I do, but it pops up an error message. I just restart the computer, then it works again.

So my iPhone 5s will not let me get past the connect to iTunes page.
Thursday night I went to go download iOS 8.0.2 and it said I needed to connect to iTunes. So I plugged my cord into my laptop and it opened up iTunes and proceeded to tell me that I needed to update and restore. So I clicked it and it began updating. After over a day, and many different attempts, it finally downloaded all the way through and then said it was processing the item. After this, there was a said error and I had to restart the update. I called Apple and they said there was nothing more I could do. I called my carrier Verizon and was able to get my computer to recognize my device after trying this-
Solution:
After trying EVERYTHING this is the ONLY thing that worked-
I took the USB connector cable out of the USB port it was in, and tried another one on the otherside of my laptop and iTunes was able to discover my phone in recovery mode. My phone was reset and everything is fine ( thank gosh for backup copies!) -
I cant download onto my computer an episode I purchased because when I hit download it says that the disk I am attempting to tranfer to is full.....however iy had no problem down loading another show....(Jon Stuart) So I went to my library where I see my shows stored and deleted MANY and when I tried again to download ---I got the same message to full......I tried to empty the recycle bin on my desktop thinking it was holding too much but the choice to empty is not darkened so it will not empty....can ANYONE help?

Here is how to do this:
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Manual Setup
Click the Disks icon at the top of the AirPort Utility window
Click the Disks tab below the icons
Click Erase
The "Quick Erase" option will only take a moment or two
Now you can backup your MacBook Pro. If you connect an Ethernet cable from the MBP to one of the LAN <-> ports on the TC, the first backup will go 3-5 times faster than wireless.
Once you have the first backup done, you can use wireless for subsequent backups since they will only take a few minutes -

Error message - and iTunes will not play anything at all
After scouring forums for similar issues, I have tried a complete uninstall and reinstall of iTunes with MacAfee firewall disabled. Nada. iTunes starts with an error message saying 'Configuration error, audio and video files may not play back correctly' (or similar). Library comes up and I can see my recent purchases, but nothing will play. Frustrating to say the least.
I am Windows 7, I have McAfee and Malwarebytes running.

I tried to update my 4s to the latest ios6. itunes came back and said there was an unexpected error. the screen on the phone is hung showing a usb cable and an arrow pointing to the itunes icon. itunes does not see the phone as being plugged into my computer. I restarted itunes, no difference. I can't seem to reset the phone. It comes up with the apple icon and then goes back to the usb plug screen. I'm totally hosed right now!!!
Error 1604:
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
