HT5129 I can't migrate Mobile Me albums to iPhoto

I keep saying ok and it says it can't complete the move and try again for weeks now.  Whats up with that?

This could be caused by the way the iPhone is connecting to the internet; some ISP's block port 25. Can the iPhone send emails after disconnecting from the Wi-Fi network?
If the issue is not present when you disconnect from the Wi-Fi network, try changing the outgoing server port in Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars> tap the MobileMe account> Account Info> Advanced> Change the Server Port to 587 under Incoming Server. Then re-join the Wi-Fi network and test.
Few have reported that they had to delete their mobilme account from my the iPhone and then run the wizard again to get it working

  • Mobile Me Albums in iPhoto '11.....

Firstly may I say that I didn't experience any issue like lots of other forum members with loss of photos during my upgrade from iPhoto '09 to iPhoto '11.
However, one thing that appears to have changed is the functionality with Mobile Me Albums. I have two young Girls and I have created a standard album for each Year of their lives with the key photos from the 14k+ photos in my library. From this standard album, I used the best photos to create photo books, calendars etc and to also create a Mobile Me Album to update my . Each album used to be displayed on the left hand side of the screen (there were 11 albums), however this is now replaced with a single Mobile Me folder under Web.
So my question is, how can I update my individual Mobile Me albums ? (I used to drag and drop from my standard album to the relevant Mobile Me album). I can't seem to understand how you can lose functionality in an upgrade.

Publish photos to your MobileMe Gallery
If you are a MobileMe member, you can easily publish your photos (and video clips) directly from iPhoto to your MobileMe Gallery, for friends and family to enjoy.
To publish a MobileMe Gallery album:
Select the photos or video clips you want to publish.
You can also select an entire Event or album.
Click the Share button in the toolbar, and then choose MobileMe from the pop-up menu.
Select the album to add the photos to (or select New Album and type a name for the album).
Choose who can view your published album from the “Album Viewable by” pop-up menu:
Everyone: Publishes the album as a public site. Anyone who has the website address can view the album.
Only me: Limits viewers to you alone. The album doesn’t appear on your Gallery homepage.
Edit Names and Passwords: Allows you to require a password or to limit viewing to certain people or groups. In the window that appears, enter one or more user names and passwords. The user names will then appear in the “Album Viewable by” pop-up menu.
The published album associated with a particular person or group is listed next to the user name and password.
    Select additional publishing options:
Allow downloading of photos or entire album: Allows viewers to download photos from your published album, or the entire album, to their computer.
Allow uploading of photos via web browser: Allows viewers to upload photos to your published album.
Allow adding of photos via email: Allows you or others to send photos to your published album from a mobile phone, other mobile device, or computer.
Show photo titles: Displays your photo titles in the published album.
Show email address for uploading photos: Displays an email address on your published album, where viewers can email photos to upload to your album. (This option is available only if you select “Allow adding of photos via email.”)
If you want, you can click the Show Advanced button for additional options:
Hide album on my Gallery page: Makes your album visible only at its own website address (which you can give to friends and family), but not from your Gallery homepage.
Download quality: Sets the resolution (size) of the photo or photos you’re publishing. (If this checkbox is dimmed, select the “Allow downloading” option, above.)
Optimized: Allows the fastest publishing with high quality. This size can be used to print photos up to 16 by 20 inches.
Actual Size: Publishes the photo at the same resolution as the original. This size is usually larger and may take longer to upload to your Gallery.
    Click Publish.
If your published album contains a large number of photos, it can take several minutes to publish. To view your published album, click your MobileMe account in the Source list (below Web), and then double-click the album.

  • I can't remove photos from albums in iPhoto 9.4?  Any advice or tricks?

I can"t seem to be able to remove photos from albums in iphoto 9.4.  Can not move to trash or remove from album, What's up?  Any tricks or advice?

Make sure those are not smart albums you're trying to remove photos from.  As a test  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If it does  make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

  • Can't see mobile/local albums in elements 12 organizer

Any thoughts on why I don't see a "mobile album" or "local album" in my elements 12 organizer?

Actually, I think I just don't have any albums at all. I don't even see the little green "+" for creating an album. How do I get this? I thought it came standard.

  • HT5129 How can I get my MobileMe albums transferred over to iPhoto?  It keeps freezing on me!

When I launch iPhoto, it gives the standard message that MobileMe has been discontinued and that it will transfer albums to a folder in iPhoto.  But then a progress meter comes up and doesn't move.  It just freezes.   Any ideas?

Go to the http://web.me.com site, log in and then use the Downlload button at the top of the page to download zipped folders of each album's photos.

  • HT204259 how can I migrate me old photos of iphoto to Photos of the new system? me photos are on a separate hard-drive as back up and me laptop was stolen recently!

how can I access me photos that are saved on a separate hard-drive (as back up) from the old iphoto to the new Photos?
My 6 month old MacBookPro was stolen a month ago and I have not have had a chance to migrate them pictures yet. And now the system says it can not be accessed!!
Having one's computer stolen is bad, not to be able to recover one's photos is even worse....
Can anybody give me a hint how to do this???
    Regards
    Jürg

    Hi Terence,
Thank you very much for your concern, I did try the way you suggested but no result. In me library I only found some 4 pictures dated between 2012 and 2013, and then maybe 70 from 2014 and a couple of hundred from this year.... all the other thousands are not there....

  • How can I rearrange photos within album in iPhoto 9.5

I used to be able to do this in older iphoto applications. I have gone to View and checked manual and I still cannot arrange the photos within an albun manually.

In an album you simply drag the photos where you want them - that is one reason to use albums for organization rather than events

  • How can I import keywords and albums from iphoto 5?

I have new imac with iPhoto 7.1. I'd like to import the keywords and albums along with the pics from my old imac and iphoto 5. Photos import, but not tags or albums. Any suggestions?

    Roy
The trick is not to import, but to update.
Copy the library from the old mac to the new one, then hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. Select 'Choose Library' and point iPhoto at this old one and it will update it to a v7 library, including albums and keywords.
If you already have a new library on your new machine, then use iPhoto Library Manager to merge them or to move the pics from the older to the newer.
    Regards

  • Can I send a photo album from iPhotos to an address abroad?

I've created a photo album for friends who live in North America (we live in Europe), when I try to change the ship to address, it defaults to Europe. Ideally, I'd like to send the album directly to my friend rather than having it shipped to me..... Any suggestions?

The country of the shipping address and the billing address must be the same. To send a print order directly to North America, you need to have the book printed by the American Print Store and use an AppleID and Credit card valid with an american billing address.
You set the Print Products store in the iPhoto Preferences > Advanced panel.
See this support article:  Apple Print Products - Apple Store (U.S.)

  • Safari can not upload images newly imported into iPhoto. I have to shutdown iphoto and safari before the latest import of images into iPhoto is found my safari.

When I want to upload images to facebook on safari - from a NEWLY imported album in iPhoto - Safari can not find the new album in iPhoto. Obviously the most commonly uploaded images are the recent ones. I am uploading them to a facebook page, not my own account - which is not possible from iphoto. So I have to shutdown safari and iphoto and then do the upload again. This has happened me three times now - and - well - its one of those annoying things that windows 95 could have done and super safari can't .... could apple sort this out sometime. Please.

You'll not get a rebuttal from me. I still run into Wizard of Oz moments.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • HT5129 How do you stop iPhoto from asking to migrate mobile me galleries?

Since early this summer, every time I launch iPhoto, I see a prompt asking me to migrate mobileme galleries.  If I click OK (or whatever) it fails. If I click Tell Me More, it opens a browser window with a help article.  It never gives up. It's a mild annoyance but I'd like it to stop.
I just tried logging out of mobile me as suggested in another thread. I still got the popup. This time when I selected continue, it seemed to work and I have a large number of "from mobile me" albums that suddenly showed up.  Hopefully this is behind me and I won't see that popup any more but I'll leave this thread open in case anyone can either add more information or benefit from my experience so far.

There really is nothing about mm in iphoto preferences except an old email account that would be used to send photos which I never do anyway so it wouldn't make a difference.  I did, however log out of mobile me in system preferences and things started working again. No more popups. It seems that if you remain logged in to mobileme, iPhoto fails to finish copying your stuff into "from mobile me" and keeps nagging you until you log out.

  • HT5129 all of my albums in mobile me came from my albums in iPhoto. will mobile me recognize that, or would it place a duplicate copy back to my iPhoto?

all of my ablums in mobile me came from my albums in iPhoto. will mobile me recognize that? or would it migrate duplicates back to my iPhoto? thanks.

OT - Unfortunately, Apple hasn't made it that easy.  They've tried, but didn't get there.  I have been logged out of MMe from the System Preferences for months, and I am still getting the new message now every time I open iPhoto to migrate my albums to iPhoto from MMe.  I deleted those photos (which I had also like fatsojung loaded from iPhoto in the first place, but now have divided some of those to separate libraries for space), and even had deleted the albums from MMe!  Thought I was DONE with MMe months ago!!  Now I'm getting the following message when I try to delete my MMe account from my iPhoto preferences to stop the message:
"31 albums will be removed from your IPHOTO LIBRARY."!!!!  Is that a typo??  Shouldn't it say "MobileMe gallery"?  As those photos are still in my iPhoto library, I certainly do NOT want them deleted from iPhoto!    And why does it still have all 31 albums in there when I deleted them from MMe months ago??  I feel like I'm in a horrible loop that won't let me go!
It's just a pain if I have to let it download all those pictures into my iPhoto trash, then delete them AGAIN.  And frankly I'm a bit worried that it will confuse it with my originals that are still in that library.  Good thing I have Time Machine!
Any insight as to what actually happens when we click "Remove"?  Thanks.

  • HT5129 I don't need to download Mobile Me albums.  How do I disconnect Mobile Me without being asked to download the albums?

How do I not download MObile Me albums to my Mac with-out being asked each time on iPhoto?

Remove all mention of MM from the iPhoto Preferences and then from System Preferences

  • How can i migrate a single application from my old macbook to my new macbook

Can I migrate only single applications or files using the migration assistant? how?

I feel I've explained plenty what you must do but you aren't getting it.
All music on your old iPhone should be in your iTunes library on your computer. Transfer the music from your iTunes library on your computer to your new iPhone in the same way it was transferred from your iTunes library to your old iPhone - via the iTunes sync/transfer process.
Since you prefer the manual way, you must manually drag and drop the same 377 songs from your iTunes library to your new iPhone - in the same way the 377 songs were manually transferred from your iTunes library to your old iPhone.
Or you can sync which provides more options overall. Create an iTunes playlist for the 377 songs. Select Sync Music under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes and choose selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Select the iTunes playlist below that includes the 377 songs followed by a sync.
