Why has the maps app gone so sour in IOS6.The images at any reasonable magnification are colourless and so fuzzy as to be useless.I loved my old Google based system which even allowed me to look into my house window from the street view function.I wish I had never accepted the invitation to upgrade to IOS6 I would like to go back tithe old system

Google and Apple have apparently parted ways in the 'bundled apps' area.
If you don't like the bundled map app, then your option is to look for a replacement in the app store.

When you switch active Extension Set or enable/disable extension(s), Extension Manager will create/update PluginConfig.txt. InDesign will read this file at launch to determine which extensions (plug-ins) should be loaded or not. If this file doesn't exist, InDesign will load all extensions. Also complicated dependency relationship exists among extensions. I am not sure how these extensions ran into incorrect state.
If sometime you have to use Extension Manager, you have to reset the state BEFORE launch it. Otherwise Extension Manager will recreate this file based on incorrect database records and file state.
1. Delete "Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS6/Configuration/DB/ExMan.db".
2. Delete all files in "Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS6/EM Store/InDesign CS6"
3. Delete all files in "Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS6/Mxi Flag/InDesign CS6"
4. Move all files in "Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/InDesign/Version 8.0/nb_NO/Extensions/REMOVED" to the parent folder "Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/InDesign/Version 8.0/nb_NO/Extensions".

Why does the map app say it takes 8 hours to travel 25 miles?

The map app says it takes 8 hours and 17 minutes to drive from Naperville, IL, to Midway Airport. An alternate route only takes 49 minutes.

If I selected walking, why would a longer alternate route only take 59 minutes.
I just got directions for the same route and got reasonable results. Whatever the problem was it appears to have been corrected.

How do you delete a "dropped Pin" from the map apps?

How do I get routing data from the Map App (powered by TomTom) so I can display the point-to-point annotations (turn-by-turn navigation) without leaving my own application.

I have a tableView displaying a list of contacts from a Cloud Database. After selecting a contact, I push to a programmatically created MKMapView. Then I display the initial region (the view) that includes the users current location (starting point) and their selected destination (end point).
Now I want to display annotations (as described in the Location Awareness Programming Guide) that displays polylines which will represent the turn-by-turn navigation IN MY OWN APPLICATION, and not in the Map App currently used in IOS6.
Due to licensing and its becoming depricated in IOS 6, I do not want to get routing data from the Google Maps API. How do I get routing data from the IOS 6 Map App (powered by TomTom) so I can display the point-to-point annotations (turn-by-turn navigation) without leaving my own application?
I checked out Stack Overflow and other forums which basically left me with the impression that this is not possible. I also checked out the TomTom iPhone Mobile SDK User Guide from the TomTom Developer Portal and am still confused. It must be possible to retrieve routes, since the Map App can display turn-by-turn directions. How can I retrieve turn-by-turn data that I may display as a route within my own application?

Thanks Michael. Apologies for the slow reply I was away for a bit (holiday blitz at work and visiting family madness etc.etc.) back now, I set both options you requested to "never " and retried the CMS software with no change.
I do have progress of a sort though, as a test I took a separate test PC and put a clean install of Win7 on and loaded up the CMS software (it worked perfectly) and then took the version of ole32.dll off that machine and put it onto the computer I had built
for her (using Linux) and...
got a new error code. Darn I was so sure I had found a clever solution this time lol.
Anyway now when the CMS fails it gives me a similar error but the offending module is "ntdll.dll" sooo... I tried taking the "working" version of ntdll.dll from the test box and moving it over (making sure to back up the existing ones
first so I could put them back if needed) to her new PC and the PC would not boot.
It seems to want the original versions of a few Dynamic Link Libraries and if I could somehow give it those while not breaking Win7 it should theoretically work seeing as it no longer errors with ole32.dll.
ntdll.dll however seems necessary for Win7 to boot.
So what I am wondering now is:
Is there some way to have both versions of the DLL file in the system32 folder (bypassing the "cannot have two files with the exact same name in the same folder" thing) or rename the original DLL's something else and somehow make the CMS look for
the new named versions so the system has the updated DLL's it needs to boot/run and the CMS has the old ones it wants to run or is there someway to have a self contained install of the CMS, say on a USB flash drive and give it it's own E:/windows/system32/needed
dll's path to the files it needs?
Willing to try any other options or settings you may have come up with as well.

Why do the maps app bookmarks are erased every time I switch to another app?

I am encountering several problems with the new maps application which are not related to the mapping data itself.
My problems are:
Every bookmark I keep dissapears after a while (mostly after I switch to another app, but sometimes it takes a little more switching before the bookmark is gone).
I cannot access bookmarks when I try to set a route. There is no option to choose a starting/end point from a contact address or bookmark.
Am I doing something wrong? I could not find any reference in other forums describing this problem and would appreciate any help.
P.S.
The first problem I describe was present also for the old maps application on iPhone 4S and iPhone 3.

Thanks for explaining how app's loss of state can happen. However, I'm sure that the behavior of the four apps I mentioned is much worse than just a few months ago. Something must have changed, and iOS 7 is the main difference. The Kindle app behaves as it used to, but the others do not. Maybe I should note the problem in reviews of the apps themselves in the App Store -- and down rate the apps.

Why has the Reminders app duplicated my iCloud account?

I was quite puzzled to see today that the Reminders app on my Mac has duplicated my iCloud reminders and seems to see them as two separate lists. A single reminder entry appears in both lists and is therefore registered as two reminders in the dock badge. They even appear as separate lists in the 'Default Lists' menu item......screenshots below. Any suggestions? I'm scratching my head on this one!

Where has the NFC App gone?

Guys, I have the new gorgeous Lumia 830 and I am loving it (even though sometimes it switches itself off and then on again for no reason) and I connected it to my DT 900 charging stand. Now, with previous phone models it opened up automatically a nice app that showed the date/time and weather icon on the screen in a very vivid white. I loved it and it gave all the info I needed. But on the L830 this is gone now. Can anyone tell me if I can find this little app somewhere within the MS store?

I have read the other thread and, really, that is about not having the app at all but rather the fact that the guy has no calendar portion that he can see within the app; he does have the app and obviously not on 8.1. So for me, and you, we do not have this app at all and I am sure many other people would complain that have bought the DT-910 charging stand. As I have said before it is agreat little app and I hope that MS see fit to bring it back to the NFC charging stand because it is concise and displays all of the pertinent information that one could possible need in a nice little interface. I do have the choice to open one of my apps but this is useless becasue none of them provide information in such a way. We need seperate apps associated withthe charging producys such as the one that we already have with the car charging unit (which I also use every day); so please MS, please bring back this app to the NFC charging stand!

Why has the navigator app disappeared from my droid?

This forum is ridiculous. I have a simple question but have to jump thru hoops just to put it up. my local app and my navigator app has disappeared from all our droid phones. whats up with that?

Google released a version of Maps and incorporated their Navigation app into the main Maps application.
Not sure about the VZW navigator app though.
Both application have had recent discussions created about them and could have been located through a search of the community forum.

With the new upgrade i cant seem to find the music websites app on spotify anymore such as NME, Pitchfork and Guardian. They had their apps on spoitfy plus newely reviewed albums but i cnat find it on the new spotify now?

Part of my reason for selecting Spotify was the apps, and now that they're gone - I'm out looking for something to replace it with. As a premium paying person, I can find what Spotify delivers now nearly everywhere else, there's nothing compelling or better about the Spotify platform now. Personally, I used the Last.fm, Twitter music and some playlist apps heavily, now I'm left with Spotify's default discover feature which sucks so badly it's a joke to think it even delivers anything worthwhile. Finding good playlists or upcoming good singles like the Twitter Hunted list did, nope not going to find it. Edit: When I say looking for something to replace it with, I mean a competing music service.

It opens OK but can't find my location once and a while.
Then getting directions between to points doesn't work.

We want you to always have working apps linton37. I'm sorry you're having issues. Have you tried to remove the apps and redownload them back to your phone? They may need updating so they can work with your phone. I would also try accessing them on the data network to ensure its not your home wifi blocking those apps.

If you believe it was a bad move by Apple to discontinue it, that would seem to indicate you think it's a good phone. So why do you regret buying it? Does it do less today than it did before you found out it was discontinued? Whether or not Apple still sell it actually has no affect on its performance. Hard to believe, I know!
